Her words hit me like a punch to the gut, sending my mood spiraling all over again. The weight of it pressed down on my chest, making it hard to breathe.
I didn't send a voice message. Instead, I tapped out a reply: My husband's away on business. He's not home!
Sophia Hill fired back instantly: Then wait till he gets back to try it. Night!
Lying next to Daniel Evans, my mind wouldn't settle. The image of Sophia and her husband tangled up in passion played on loop in my head. Even through the screen, I could practically taste the intoxicating heat between them.
Before I knew it, I was picturing myself in her place—her husband's hands on me, his body moving against mine. The fantasy burned hotter until I turned and saw Daniel, peacefully asleep beside me. The contrast was brutal.
A restless fire coiled inside me, stoked by Sophia's words—try it with your husband. The heat was unbearable, pulsing through me with nowhere to go.
I rolled toward Daniel, my fingers trembling as I slipped them beneath the waistband of his pants.
His manhood was… underwhelming. Nothing like Nathan Roscente or Sophia's husband. Still, I stroked him, willing him to harden under my touch. My grip tightened without thinking.
I don't know how long I kept at it before I opened my eyes—and met Daniel's wounded stare.
I jerked my hand back, my face scorching. I couldn't even look at him.
The air between us turned thick with discomfort. I'd been so lost in my own hunger that I hadn't realized I'd woken him.
"D-Daniel… I'm sorry, I—"
My cheeks burned. My mind went blank. I opened my mouth, but no excuse came out.
Daniel let out a heavy sigh, his expression shifting. "I'm the one who should apologize. No woman should be stuck in a sexless marriage. I want to fix this, but…"
His voice cracked, twisting something deep in my chest.
I wanted to say it's okay, but the words died in my throat.
It would've been a lie. They say women hit their peak in their thirties—and here I was, my desires raging like a wildfire. Pretending otherwise would've been pathetic.
I curled into him, wrapping my arms around his neck and burying my face against his shoulder.
"Daniel, don't give up. It'll get better."
The fire inside me flickered out.
Daniel didn't answer. Soon, his breathing steadied into sleep.
I shifted away, and eventually, I drifted off too.
In my dreams, Nathan appeared. He took me with rough, relentless thrusts, my body arching under him. Pleasure crackled through me as he growled filthy words, his hands roaming every inch of me. I moaned, spreading wider for him.
Even knowing it was just a dream, when Nathan pulled away, I woke up aching.
Sunlight spilled through the window. The other side of the bed was empty.
The clock read 8:30 AM.
A note sat on the nightstand: Sorry, honey. Working this weekend. If you're bored, go out with friends or treat yourself to some shopping.
I had zero energy to leave the house on my day off. Just as I was about to sink back into the sheets, my phone buzzed—Sophia calling.
"Free tonight? Feel like watching some male strippers?"
