The body never lies—mine certainly didn't. Every nerve still hummed with pleasure, raw and undeniable, no matter how hard I tried to deny it.
Then, stillness.
Nathan Roscente pulled away, and just like that, the overwhelming fullness was gone, leaving behind a hollow ache I hadn't expected.
This was real. Not some fever dream. My skin was slick with sweat, my hair clinging to my forehead as I struggled to catch my breath.
Nathan adjusted his clothes, his usual cool composure sliding back into place, the feral hunger in his eyes fading like it had never been there.
He pinched my cheek, his voice dripping with amusement. "First time with a virgin. Can't say I'm disappointed."
The words hit me like a slap. White-hot fury surged through me.
For a moment, I'd lost myself completely—let him drag me under, drown me in pleasure so intense I forgot this wasn't love. It was just a transaction.
And he'd treated it like one. Only I'd been stupid enough to hope for something real.
A bitter laugh tore from my throat. Of course. I got what I wanted, but to him? Just another conquest.
My voice turned sharp. "We're even now. Delete the video."
Nathan smirked, sliding a hand under my skirt, fingers teasing. "If you'd asked earlier, maybe. But now?" His grip tightened. "Why would I?"
Disgust coiled in my gut. I'd been an idiot, surrendering to him, my mind blank except for the desperate need for more. I'd forgotten the one thing that mattered.
Damn it.
"Mr. Roscente, please," I begged. "I'm married. I love him. Just—have some mercy, okay? I can't keep—"
"Could've fooled me," he cut in, grinning. "Back in the office, you were already begging. And tonight? Sneaking off to watch a strip show? Face it, Evelyn—you're starving for it. Your husband can't satisfy you, but I can. Why stop now?"
Before I could react, his mouth crashed onto mine, rough and demanding. My body, still throbbing from before, ignited all over again.
No. I couldn't—
I shoved him back. My phone buzzed—Sophia Hill. I'd been gone too long.
As I turned to leave, Nathan grabbed my waist.
"Let go!" I snapped. "Sophia's waiting. You know how she is—if she finds us—"
He licked his lips, reluctantly releasing me.
"Next time," he murmured, voice dark with promise. "I'll make sure you remember it."
With a smirk, he shoved his hands into his pockets and strolled off like nothing had happened.
I took a shaky breath and answered the call.
"Evelyn, where the hell are you? Did you get lost on the way to the bar?"
"Just needed air," I lied. "Be right there."
Stepping outside, the cold night wind slapped my face, clearing the fog in my head. But the weight of what I'd done crashed down on me like a knife to the chest. Tears spilled over.
I'd cheated. Just like that. My first time—gone to Nathan. It had hurt, but the pleasure… God, it still burned under my skin.
He called me a slut. But I wasn't. I wasn't.
My legs gave out. I sank to the ground, the guilt crushing me.
What had I done? I'd betrayed Daniel—the man I loved more than anything.
How could I ever look him in the eye again?
The future stretched ahead, empty and terrifying.
