If she crouched down right now, I'd be totally busted.
My scalp prickled with panic. My mind went blank, and my lips started trembling like leaves in a storm.
Oh God, what do I do? What the hell do I do?
Isabella Winston was about to slide off the desk when Nathan Roscente yanked her back with that cocky smirk of his. "Relax, baby. Let me handle you. I'll make it worth your while."
Their lips crashed together again, the slick, obscene sounds of their kissing echoing in the office.
Nathan pushed up from his executive chair, his bare lower half shifting until it vanished from view.
The moans started up again—soft, breathy. He must've been thrusting now, his movements slow and deliberate.
"Isabella, you're such a filthy little tease. Soaked already? Christ, I'd take you ten times a day if I could—that'd be heaven."
"Ah—Nathan! You're so—God—deeper, please—"
Isabella's voice pitched higher, turning breathless. I covered my burning face, completely mortified. I'd never been front-row to something this explicit before.
The space under the desk was claustrophobic. My legs had gone completely numb from crouching so long.
I tried to shift, but the second I lifted my head—thunk. A loud, unmistakable knock against the desk. The harder I tried to stay quiet, the worse it got. I froze, barely breathing.
Isabella was sprawled right on top of the desk. No way she missed that.
"What was that?" she gasped. "Is someone under there?"
Nathan just laughed, like it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard. "Paranoid much? Who'd be hiding under there? But hey, feel free to check."
My heart jackhammered against my ribs. If she actually looked, I was dead.
Isabella giggled. "Kidding! Look how jumpy you are."
Then Nathan's phone rang. His tone flipped instantly when he answered. "Mom? You're at the airport? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Stay there—I'm on my way."
Isabella slid off the desk with a huff. "Seriously? Now? I wasn't finished."
They scrambled to fix their clothes before the door slammed shut behind them.
I finally exhaled and bolted like my life depended on it.
Back at my desk, my pulse still hadn't settled.
Nathan's bare body kept flashing in my mind. Against my will, I imagined it—him over me, inside me, the way he'd been with Isabella.
Lost in the thought, Sophia Hill from the next cubicle leaned over and nudged me. "You were in Nathan's office forever. Did something... interesting happen?"
My face burned. I shot her a glare. "Don't be ridiculous. That's not funny."
Sophia twirled a pen between her fingers and dropped her voice. "You're new, so you might not know. Nathan's got a reputation. Those promotions? Yeah, they didn't come free. But—"
The director walked by, and Sophia instantly shut up.
Once he was gone, she smirked. "Still, you can't deny he's hot. Word is he's insane in bed. Honestly? I wouldn't say no to a night with him."
The memory of Nathan under that desk hit me again, and my cheeks flamed hotter.
