As soon as we reached the parking lot, we immediately jumped in Sara's car since we didn't have any other choice but to use her car and made our way out of the school. I tracked down Violet's location, it pointed to some park near a suburban area which was minutes away, thankfully. As we were getting near the location, I couldn't help but feel the anticipation of getting into real action since I had been deprived from it for days, I just hoped I could get there in time.  But after all the anticipation, I was also feeling anxious bringing Liv with me, which I was putting her life at risk.
I stopped the car distance away from the park as I didn't want to get in action with Liv on my side. As I looked around the surrounding, it was pretty calm and empty which I suspected that those guys wanted to make it quiet, this was a perfect place. Turning to Liv, I pulled up a pocket knife from my boot and handed it to Liv. She looked surprised, her gaze flickered from the knife to me.
"You bring knife in school?"
"What? You prefer I bring a gun?"
She shook her head, "Wouldn't you get caught?"
"I know the guards. Now take it and stay in the car. Don't ever get out and if you see something suspicious, I want you to get away and drive as fast as you can... but don't get on an accident okay? I'll be right back." She nodded nervously and took the knife from my hand. I flashed one last smile at her before getting out of the car and cautiously jogged to the park. From my position, I heard shots of guns in the distance as I pulled out the remaining pocket knife on my boot.
I leaned in on a tree and peeked at the scene. It looked like Violet and the undercovers were barely holding their ground as they exchanged fires with seven guys, as I counted, in black suits. If I wouldn't act now, they would be surrounded, seeing that Violet and only two of the undercovers were shooting. That meant three of the undercovers were down. Without wasting any time, I rounded the area as I was planning to attack behind the enemies and take them by surprise.
When I was positioned, I thought first on how should I attack. But when the shots stopped, I saw one of the bad guys motioned to close in. Didn't have much of a time, I leapt from the bush I had been hiding and immediately stabbed the nearest guy on his back and as he howled in pain, I pulled the knife and threw it to the guy who just turned, hitting him center on his chest. I raised the gun in the guy's hand whom I stabbed first as I used him as a shield, and fired it to two more. I dropped the guy as my shield and whisked to my back, kicking the gun that was about to be fired and sent another kick hitting the fifth enemy on his gut. He stumbled back and when I was about to send another attack, I heard the ground crunched behind me so I instantly slid my body on the hood of the van as he pulled the trigger, hitting his companion instead. I fell to the other side of the van where a surprised-looking guy stood tall but he quickly recovered and aimed his pistol at me. Too slow for my liking, I swiped him on his feet and he landed on his back, letting go of his gun which I quickly grabbed and shot the guy behind me who accidentally shot his friend before kicking to sleep the last guy on the ground. I was hoping to break some bad guy's leg but oh well!
"Nice save," Violet remarked when she stood in front of me. I nodded to the two undercovers who nodded back at me then turned to Violet.
"Glad I came here on time," I replied. I looked around at the bodies on the ground, "I see they sent a dozen guys to get rid of you in a quiet place with no cops intervention. They like it quiet."
"I know and they successfully killed three of our guys," she hissed.
I walked around the first van and checked the inside for something but it was clean. The two undercovers checked the other van but no luck. "You think this is a trap set by Elle?"
"I don't think so, I know so!" I didn't know what had led Violet to follow Elle but she must had reasons, I would ask her later. She examined of the bodies and moved to another but she sighed in frustration as she didn't find something useful.
"Wait," I uttered when I saw something in common with the unconscious bodies. I moved closer to the guy I stabbed in the back and crouched down as I took a closer look on his neck, the skin just below his ear. I moved to the other guy with a knife impaled on his chest, he has the same small tattoo on his neck so as the other guys.
"Is that what I think it is?" Violet asked warily.
I nodded, "Yeah. These guys...they're part of the Red Circle!"
"Huh! This is a lot worse than I thought," she mumbled as she hovered behind me. I stood up and shook my head.
"If what you thought about Elle is true, then we shouldn't underestimate her."
"But what-..."
"Oh my God Scarlett!" Before Violet could answer, Liv's shocked voice reverberated through the area. She hurried towards our direction, almost tumbling down as she struggled in her heels against the rugged ground.
"You brought her here?" Violet asked incredulously.
"I don't have a choice." Violet just shook her head then walked up to the two undercovers and instructed them what to do. When Liv stood in armslength, she eyed in horror the bodies lying on the ground and when her gaze landed on mine, her expression turned into something I couldn't quiet tell as her eyes traveled down to my bloody shirt.
"Y-You killed all of them?" she stammered.
"Except one," I answered indifferently before turning to Violet and asked her to interrogate the one I knocked off since interrogating was her forte. She eagerly agreed to the task and she would go with the guys to start her interrogation. As soon as the arrangements was clear, Liv and I walked side by side in silence, heading towards the car. I knew what she saw back there bothered her but I decided not to ask her about it, not until we reached the house.
The ride towards the house was pretty silent as we were both absorbed by our own thoughts. I found it uncomfortable since Liv wouldn't be this quiet whenever we were alone unless she was mad. But I couldn't just pretend that what she saw was nothing, after all the blood and the bodies lying on the ground, it wasn't a usual scene she often see. So I let her be.
When we reached the house, Liv went straight upstairs, to our bedroom. Thinking that she needed some time to process, I didn't bother her and headed to Violet's room instead to take a shower. Feeling exhausted on the way, I felt like I had been rejuvenated when the water touched my skin but it didn't help getting rid the nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Two hours later, Violet came back to the house while I was in the living room, reading a book the whole time. Since Liv and I arrived, she hasn't came out of the room and I hadn't gone in the room to check up on her. Instead, I checked the camera feed on my bedroom earlier and saw she was sleeping soundly, I didn't want to disturb her.
"You okay?" Violet asked while pouring a glass of lemon juice.
"I'm good. So did you get any leads about the Red Circle?"
"No luck, the guy's pretty tough. But speaking of Red Circle, do you think they're the one after the Cox'? I mean it's not just a coincidence right? Elle is Olivia's bestfriend and she happens to be one of the Red Circle-..."
"Wait, we aren't sure yet that Elle's one of the Red Circle."
"No, I know she's one of them. She's suspicious enough."
"Oh that reminds me, why were you following her earlier?" She made her way to the couch and sat beside me.
"When I was checking the surveillance, I saw her made a phone call at the girls' bathroom, I didn't mind it at first but when she didn't attend her class and was in such a hurry to leave the building, I grew suspicious so I followed her."
I sighed and put the book on the table, "But that doesn't make her part of the Red Circle. It could be an emergency that's why she was in a hurry, or maybe the Red Circle knew that we are unto them that's why they were there earlier and maybe it was not really a trap set by Elle. What you're saying is just accusations."
"Well my gut says otherwise," she argued, rolling her eyes, "And I'm gonna prove it to you,"
"Prove Scarlett what?" Liv's familiar voice made us look towards the stairs. She was standing there with her arms crossed on her chest. She slowly descended the stairs and walked to the couch across us then she sat.
"Well it's just work related," Violet answered indifferently.
"So who were those guys?" Liv asked refusing to make eye contact with me. Her gaze was onto Violet but I knew that she felt me staring at her and she just decided to ignore me. Well if that was what she playing then two could play the game.
I pretended to look at my watch and stood up, "Well I just remembered, I have to pick up Sara since we have her car and all. Violet can tell you everything Olivia."
Violet excitedly stood up, "Oh I'll pick her up instead, I want to take a breather for a moment."
"Oh nope, I'll need one also. I'll get her and I need you to watch Olivia for me. Okay bye!" I quickly kissed her on the cheek before she could argue.
"Atleast let us come with you!" Violet hollered.
"Nope, I'm using my bike!"

We reached the house later than usual after Sara and I had a fun time on the pastry shop we went to for the second time around. I was glad I made the choice to hang out with her since it helped me forget what had happened earlier and Liv for a while.
"Thanks for hanging out with me, I had a great time," I said, leaning against the doorframe on Violet's bedroom.
"No, thank you for asking me. I had fun also and I wouldn't mind going back for the third time," she stated jokingly.
I smirked, "Consider that a date."
"What really?" I raised my eyebrow, still smirking, "Oh I get it, okay, I'll mark my calendar whenever you want."
"Great! Goodnight Sara." My eyes widen briefly as I was caught off guard when she pulled me close and kissed my cheek.
"Goodnight Sam," she whispered before backing out and walked to her bedroom. Shaking my head off from daze, I closed the door behind me and headed downstairs where I saw Liv who just sat down on the couch. Seeing that she was alone in the living room, I assumed that Violet just left to finish her assignment which was interrogating the Red Circle guy.
I made my way to the fridge and poured myself a glass of water while staring at Liv's back. If stares could burn a hole on someone, I would have left a deep blazing hole on her back.
"I presumed you had a great time with Sara, seeing you're all smiles when you walked in."
I smiled at her back, "Yeah I did." She didn't say anything for a minute while I looked at the constant faint movements of her shoulders as she breathed. Finally she stood up and turned to my direction. She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something but no words came out, instead she bit her lower lip while sheepishly rubbing her palms together. As I lived with her for weeks, I came to familiarize such gestures of her and right now, either she was nervous or doubtful to say what was on her mind.
"I'm sorry..." she blurted, "..."for ignoring you. I just...I was just shocked to witness so much blood, dead bodies lying... and when I saw their blood on you, I was..."
"Frightened?" I finished. She tilted her head to the side, avoiding my gaze as she pursed her lips on a tight line. I understood what she felt or still feeling right now, it wasn't a typical scene you commonly see but knowing I frightened her felt like something pricked my heart.
"Do you still feel that way about me?"
She shook her head, "I-I don't know." I gulped back the lump on my throat and shifted my weight to the other foot.
"I understand Liv, I get where you're coming from. Don't worry, I'll try to distance myself, I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable...so no worries." I mustered up a half-hearted smile even if my lips felt strained.
"No I don't want-"
"Hey Sam can I talk to...you? Is everything okay? Did I interrupt something?" Sara's sudden interference made us turned away from each other. I was thankful for the interruptions as I felt like the air was getting heavier for me to handle.
"I'm gonna go upstairs." Liv hastily climbed upstairs. Sara turned to me with a curious look and all I could do was shrug my shoulders. I flopped down to the couch, rubbing my brows as a headache was starting to kick. I felt the empty space beside me shifted as Sara sat down.
"Did you two fight?"
I sighed. Well I wouldn't call it a fight. "Nope. It was nothing. So what did you want to talk about?"
"Oh my mom called said they would be back by tomorrow morning. I just want to thank you for taking care of me and for letting me stay here. I had a great time."
I smiled, "Yeah. You can stop by anytime you want." Oh although not these days. Gosh, I slipped.
"I would love that."
We sat in a comfortable silence until Sara rested her head on my shoulders. I was surprised at her gesture but I let her be as it felt kinda comforting which I needed to get a good night sleep later.
"Can I tell you something?" she mumbled softly.
"Yeah," Her head slowly rose up and looked into my eyes. Since she wasn't wearing her glasses, it was nice to see her deep blue eyes. We were in a close proximity now and I could feel her warm breath on my face. She took a deep breath before clearing her throat.
"I like you. So much," I couldn't put words into my mouth as I didn't know what to say. I knew she has been showing signs but I didn't mind it and now she already told me, I couldn't give her an answer. I tried to come up with something to say atleast but before I could I found myself being pulled towards her and our lips met. My mind had gone chaotic as i didn't expect her to initiate the kiss. I didn't think she had it in her but here we were, kissing. Oh boy, this is messed up!

I stopped the car distance away from the park as I didn't want to get in action with Liv on my side.
