"Okay, water break guys," Olivia hollered, causing the dancers to erupt in cheers and broke out of formation as they went on their ways. Giving Olivia a sideglance, I made my way to the bleachers to drink my bottled water. Ugh, I'm exhausted! So today's practice wore me out, considering we had less than three weeks before the competition. Even if we completed our routine, we still have to polish everything.
"You know, you look sexier when you're sweaty," she commented nonchalantly before sidling up beside me. She then wiped the dripping sweats on her forehead before drinking her water.
"I know. You never failed to remind me that," I replied quirking a brow and smirked. Since she told me she liked me that much, she would constantly flirt with me or dropped subtle hints whenever she could. And I gotta say, I kinda liked it.
She chuckled, "Oh I would never get tired of reminding you that," she said and winked.
"Oh yeah? Be careful though... or I might lose my sense of control," I teased, walking up to her and stopped in arms-length.
She closed the gap between us, her face was inches closer, "What makes you think it's not what I want?" I travelled my gaze down to his lips as they curled up into a smile. I knew she was enjoying this and I wasn't sure if she was really flirting right now or just teasing me, nevertheless, I liked the proximity between us, it made me want to kiss her. But I knew I shouldn't 'cause kids were hanging around.
I gently poked her nose with my forefinger and stepped back with a grin on my face. "We'll pick this up later, somewhere more... private." I said the last word slow and seductively, biting my lower lip to add to the effect. If she wouldn't fall for it, then I didn't know what would.
And I guess she was when I noticed her blush and shifted her weight at the same time. She was looking at me way too long with something flashed in her eyes, like she was already undressing me in her mind, as she roamed her gaze from top to bottom.
"Oh we sure will continue this later," she said slowly, her voice a little low. We stared at each other, with smirks written on our faces, but our little staring contest was shortlived when someone cleared their throat. Our heads snapped to the guy, whom I couldn't remember the name but I remembered how stubborn he was every practice, standing on our side, his gaze flickered between us.
"Sorry to interrupt Captains but I do have a dare to do," he said smugly. I liked how he didn't beat around the bush but I disliked how he was looking smug right now.
Olivia crossed her arm, looking at him indignantly, "What do you mean?"
"We're playing truth or dare back there..." he pointed to a group of dancers, sitting in circle, looking in our direction expectantly, "...I chose dare and it's to... kiss Olivia." I turned to Olivia and saw her contemplating as she met my gaze. I doubted she would let him kiss her, I meant this was Olivia, she only kissed quarterbacks, bad boys and... lesbo, not some ordinary smug-looking guy.
If you could hear my thoughts, no offense buddy!
"Okay, sure."
Wait, what?
"Really? Ha, I know you couldn't resist my cha--" Before the guy could finish, Olivia smashed her lips to his, silencing him. I crossed my arms and watched them intently while hearing the cheers and claps of the other students. She was looking at me while letting out moans as their kissed was taking too long for my liking. I didn't know if she was trying to get me jealous or just that she missed kissing guys, but whatever it was, it kinda pissed me off.
I stood in my place, unfazed by what was happening in front of me, mustering a stoic expression. I couldn't tell what she was thinking but I couldn't let her see it was affecting me. If she was trying to get a reaction out of me then she had to try harder next time because I wasn't falling for her game.
She pulled away, wiping her lips with the back of her hand and pushed the guy. Thankfully he didn't linger long and walked off to his group of friends.
"Satisfied?," I asked forcing a grin.
She arched her brows, "Is that it? Aren't you gonna ask like 'what the fuck was that?'"
I tilted my head, feigning confused, "Ahh, should I?"
She scoffed, "To think I'd kissed that guy just to make you jealous," she mumbled under her breath, although I heard her clearly.
"I'm sorry what?" I teased. Ah, so she wanted to see me get jealous. Typical move Olivia!
She rolled her eyes, "Forget it," she uttered before turning her back to me. I couldn't help but chuckled lightly thinking that her silly plan backfired. Although, that move affected me and if they went further than that, maybe, just maybe, I would have break them apart.
"Captain Flynn," Stephanie chirped, running up to me.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked and noticed Olivia turned to us, glaring at us.
"Um, can you review routine seven with me? It's kinda blurred for me."
"Yeah sure."
"Great!" I followed Steph but not without leaving Olivia a wink which she huffed in response.
Typical Olivia!

We were both panting and engulfed with our sweats as we reached the parking lot where Violet was already waiting, leaning against the camaro. We were in the middle of our practice when she texted me, asking us to hurry over. Thankfully, coach wasn't around so we let our second in command to facilitate the practice.
"Where's Sara?" I asked as soon as we faced Violet.
"She got held up in the office. Let's get in the car, Scarlett you drive,"
"Thanks," I answered sarcastically as I got in the driver's seat. I waited for the two to get in before maneuvering out of the parking lot.
"Drive to Elle's house," she instructed while looking at her iPad. I caught a glimpse of what she was watching but I couldn't tell what it really was. Curious as I was, Olivia peeked over her shoulder to look.
"Is she packing?"
"Obviously," Violet retorted causing Olivia to groan.
I stopped at red light, and leaned closer to the passenger seat to get a good look at the camera footage they were watching. Elle was already zipping up her bag when I peeked in, she then walked to where a small painting was hanged and removed it from the wall, revealing a secret stash. After she typed in the code, she opened it and started grabbing bundles of cash.
The three of us exchanged looks momentarily then back to the screen. A moment after, I let out a sudden breath when I saw Elle held something familiar.
"No... freaking...mental," Olivia breathed as she turned to look at me.
"What?" Violet queried.
I took a deep breath and spoke, "I think we just found our white-masked girl."
"Who?" A deep frown was written on Violet's face as she looked at me fo answer. I opened my mouth but before any words came out, a honk sounded behind us, then several followed. I turned my gaze ahead and stepped on the pedal.
"She's one of The Mother's entourage. She's the first who attacked Olivia," I started.
"Interesting," Violet mumbled and I gave her a face. I wasn't certain if Elle really was the masked girl, but I got the feeling that she was after I saw her in the footage, holding the white mask.
"Olivia, how well do you know Elle?"I glanced at her on the rearview and saw her shrugged.
"Not that much. All I know is that she was an outcast once, nerd, shy and quiet...mysterious."
Violet snorted, "I didn't know you befriended someone like her."
"I didn't until the beginning of this school year. She...changed, her style, the way she acts...then she joined the squad. She became somewhat...infamous, a bitch." I narrowed my eyes while staring ahead as I thought about what could have possibly changed Elle. Was it because she was now part of the Red Circle? Or was it because of Red? What was their relation?
I pulled up before we reached Elle's house, and waited for her to come out. We were lucky there wasn't a heavy traffic in the city or else we would get here later than sooner. While spying on Elle, we noticed a black sedan pulled up in front of her house a few minutes later and came out the one and only Red.
"I gotta say, she's freaking hot," Violet commented which made me chuckle. She was right though, Red was hot with her fiery red hair, her stoic expression and intimidating presence, and her good looks, she was definitely alluring.
I smiled, "Yeah, couldn't agree more."
"Excuse me?" I met Olivia's seething expression on the rearview mirror, causing me to plaster a sudden and brief smile before avoiding her gaze. She definitely looked scary when pissed.
"Target sighted," Violet mumbled causing me to look ahead. Elle hugged Red before she loaded her things in the car. I started the car as they got inside their car and followed them discreetly. Well it wasn't that discreet when you drove a camaro around.
*
"I'm hungry, can we stop for a bit?"
"No!" Violet and I shouted at the same time.
Olivia raised both of her hands, "Okay, chill ladies." She slumped her back onto the seat and looked back out of the window. We had been driving for an hour, following Red's car and it looked like they weren't thinking of stopping anytime soon. Naturally, I didn't mind sitting in the car this long but right now, all I wanted was to drive back to the house and have a long shower as I felt icky and gross. And didn't forget the part that I too was hungry.
I stopped at red light after a car that separated us from Red's, and exhaled a long deep breath of exhaustion.
"Ugh, when will this end?" Olivia said under her breath and I silently asked the same thing.
"If you don't mind, can you shut your mouth Olivia?" Violet said, shaking her head.
"Honestly...I mind, so back off Violet."
"Guys, let's not argue okay?" I interfered, a little annoyed that they had the time to start arguing.
I sighed then stepped on the gas when the light turned green, wondering where the hell they were going. It was getting harder keeping the distance since the street we were in wasn't clogged with cars, so there wasn't much cars to get behind.
I maintained my speed so we were still keeping a safe distance from their car. But if this kept too long, they would eventually realize we were following them and it wasn't a help that our car stood among the others.
I turned left when they did and I immediately stepped on the brakes when I saw Red and Elle were out of the car, leaning on either side as they stared in our direction. And before I could comprehend, a blinding light appeared on my side followed by a strong impact, instantly shattering the glass on the window, throwing my body to the side on the process and then movement stopped abruptly when the car hit another on the other side.
I fluttered my eyes open and everything was a turning blur. I couldn't hear anything except the ringing on my head. For a moment, I was disoriented as I didn't know what just happened and all I wanted was to stop the ringing. I felt something trickled on my left side of the head and my hand instinctively reached up to it and saw blood on my fingers.
"...snap out of it."
I shook my head to get rid of the dizziness and the ringing in my head.
"Scarlett..."
I squinted my eyes to get rid of the haziness.
"Scar babe, hey, talk to me..."
It was like I broke out of spell when I felt a sudden tug on my arm, bringing me to my senses. I turned to Violet and Olivia who were looking at me with concern.
"Are you guys okay?" I managed to ask as I scanned them. It looked like they were fine with just few cuts on their faces and arms. Thankfully they were on the right side, so they didn't receive too much impact even if our car crash into another.
"We're fine, are you?" Olivia answered with deep worry in her expression. I nodded and averted my attention ahead. Red's car was already gone so as the vehicle that crashed into our car.
"They knew we were tailing them," I spoke then shut my eyes to get my bearing.
"Yeah, no kidding. Come on, we have to get out of here before the cops show up," Violet said before turning to her side but stopped when she realized it was barricaded with another car. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and slowly slipped out of the car. I braced my hands on the damaged hood as I bent my head when the dizziness came back again.
I felt a hand on my back while I was taking deep breaths, "Are you sure you're okay Scarlett?" I looked up to Olivia's worried face and smiled at her.
"Yeah, nothing I can't handle. Let's go."
We walked past through few people who were already gathered in the scene as we kept our heads low. Some of them tried to stop us, saying that we should wait for the ambulance but that wouldn't do, although I was grateful for their concern. As soon as we were far from the scene, we hailed a cab, and soon we were on our way home which I was thankful for.

"I'll ready the medical kit," Violet offered as she walked up to the stairs.
"I'll go with you, I need to shower first," I spoke and walked to the stairs.
"Are you sure you're up for a shower?" Olivia asked in a deep frown.
I smiled, "Yeah, it's what I need right now."
She reluctantly nodded then followed us. As soon as we reached our bedroom, I immediately stripped my clothes off even if Olivia was behind me. Actually, I had no time to be bothered right now as I was itching to have a shower.
As soon as the water hit me, I felt like I could breath normally again. The ickyness I felt earlier quickly disappeared as the lukewarm water worked its magic onto me. It was what I wanted and needed after a sweaty and boring trailing.
Fifteen minutes after, I got out of the shower all freshened up and saw Olivia already wrapped in a towel. She looked up and melted my heart with her warm smile.
"How are you feeling?" she asked softly.
"Rejuvenated."
"I'm glad. Um, I'll go next." She stood up from the bed and towards the bathroom. I grabbed her arm before she could get out of reach. She looked down on my hand then met my gaze.
"Are you really okay?..." I trailed, "...I mean you just got into a crash." She kept quiet for a moment and she looked like she was contemplating. But after that moment, I saw her lips curled into a small smile.
"It was a shock at first, it was just...so sudden but...it's nothing I can't handle. I'm fine Scarlett, you have nothing to worry about."
I nodded, "Okay." With a smile, I turned my back to her and walked to my closet.
"Scarlett?" I turned my attention to Olivia who was still standing in her place.
"Yes?"
"I...would like it if...you call me Liv again." I squinted as I tried to remember the time I called her Liv. She was right, ever since she went back with me, I hadn't called her by that. I didn't know why I stopped though.
I smiled, "Okay Liv."
By the time Liv finished her shower, I already blowdried my hair, and Violet had patched me up. I was currently playing with Oreo in bed while waiting for her so we could eat dinner together. She stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, the water dripping from her hair down to her upper chest. I tried my best not to look at her because everytime she finished showering, I always found it sexy how she looked bathe with water falling from her.
While I busied myself playing with Oreo as Liv was changing, I heard my phone vibrated. Scooting closer to my bedside table, I grabbed the phone and answered the call from Sara.
"Hey, what's up?"  I answered bouyantly. She didn't answer instantly and all I could hear was rustle on the other end.
"Sara? What are you doing?"
"Hello Ms. Smith." My smile vanished and my blood instantly ran cold when I heard the familiar accent on the other end.
"V-Vladimir," I breathed as I got off the bed, staring in horror onto an empty space, "Why do you have Sara's phone? What did you do to her?" Liv was instantly on my side, looking at me confused mixed with worry.
He cracked into a manic laughter, "Don't you miss me? Because I, on the other hand, miss you so much my dear Samantha or should I say Scarlett? ...Well, your friend here is fine, for now. And if you want to save her, you would want to meet me so we can have a little chitchat."
I took a deep breath, "Where?"
"Ah that's what I like to hear. Come to your friend's house, I'll be waiting for you my dear and just so you know, I hate waiting that long." The line went dead and I clutched the phone in anger. I knew it was just a matter of time before Vladimir Sokolov find us but I didn't think he would go after Sara.
"I have to save Sara,"
Liv shook her head, "No you can't, not alone."
I nodded, "Yeah you're right...I think it's time for Violet to use her favorite toy."
