Taking a deep breath, I sneaked out of my hiding spot, behind the bushes, and moved furtively towards the two men guarding the back gate. With a swift motion, I plucked out my knife and instantly stabbed the first guy on his back, and promptly kicked the second guy to his gut, before pulling out the knife from the first guy's back, and swiped it on the second guy's neck, causing him to instantly choke on his blood.
"Damn, can you make it less bloody?" Violet spoke through the comm, making me roll my eyes.
"Sorry," I mumbled before climbing over the gate, and jumped to the other side. As soon as I landed on my feet, I saw movements on my peripheral vision, and acting out of reflex, I threw the knife to its direction, hitting the guard on his side, causing him to cry in pain. I instantly rolled forward, snatching the gun out of another guard's grasps, and pistol-whipped him. Hearing a crunch behind me, I immediately turned around, ready to shoot someone, but Violet had beat me to it when a bullet from her sniper rifle past through the third guard's head.
"You're welcome," she said triumphantly, making me smile.
"I got that one," I argued jokingly.
"Well, like I said, I got your back."
"Okay...I'm gonna head inside now," I said as I started moving forward, until I reached the back double doors. Taking my suppressed gun from the holster, I knocked on the door three times and stepped aside, readying myself. As soon as the door swayed open, I instantly shoot the guard to his head, and promptly pushed him to the side so I could get a good view of the guard who was about to eat his sandwich until he stopped halfway when he saw me, looking surprised. Cocking a brow as I grinned, I pulled the trigger, before he could get his gun, hitting him on the chest.
"All clear," I mumbled through the comm.
"Okay. Changing position now," she said as I heard shuffling sound on the other end. Taking a deep breath, I crept forward, aiming the gun in front cautiously. After opening empty rooms, I reached the kitchen, and when I heard faint voices inside, I quickly leaned against the wall, and tried to hear what they were conversing about.
"I tell you bro, she's one badass chic..."
"And a crazy one for punching The Mother..."
"Well, she's got guts..." My lips curled into a proud smile as I listened to the guards talking. I was sure they were talking about Liv, although it was crazy move for punching Helena, I admit, I felt a little pleased for what she had done. I remembered how she had been traumatized for what Helena had done to her, but she overcame it, and I couldn't more proud of her.
As I got a little distracted, a guy walked out of the kitchen, and instantly stopped as he looked at me, stunned, like I was, but luckily I recovered first, immediately hitting him with the butt of my gun, causing him to reel back, clutching his nose. I quickly held his shirt, and pulled him close, using him as a shield before getting in the kitchen and started firing. I was able to hit two guards, unfortunately, the other two had managed to duck behind the kitchen island. Pushing the guard I was holding, I shot him on the chest, and rained bullets to the other two behind the island to get them distracted as I ran to their direction. I slid atop the surface and landed between the two guys, catching them off guard. I kicked the guard on my left before turning to the other one, and took hold of his hands holding the gun as he was about to aim it, guiding it to shoot the guard who I just kicked. I elbowed his face, and snatched the gun from his hands before shooting him.
"What the hell was that? We're supposed to be discreet," Violet hissed through the comm, making me flinch a little.
"I had to. Where are you?" I asked as I crept out of the kitchen. As soon as I stepped out, several bullets had rained upon me, forcing me to run to the dining room and hid against the wall. I sneaked a look at the grand room and saw few guys descending the stairs. I fired at them, and managed to hit three guys.
"Uh, Violet, I need a little help," I said as I continued shooting, until I emptied the clip.
"A little busy here," she responded, now hearing gunshots on her end. Grabbing the rifle slinging on my back, my head instantly snapped to the door on my further right, and came in several guards. Without delay, I showered them bullets, then dove to the side to hide behind the table as they blindly returned fire, and shot the guards from the grand room who just came in. I quickly crawled around, and fired to the guards from the foyer until I reached them, kicking the nearest guard, then shot the other two remaining guys, before slipping behind the guard I kicked, stepping back to the foyer as the other guards from the grand room finally came in, raining bullets in my direction. I promptly slid behind the wall, slightly flinching from the bullets hammering the wall.
Waiting for the right moment, I steadied my breathing and adjusted my hold onto the gun, until in mere second, the guards stopped firing and I took the opportunity to shoot back, emptying my magazine on them. Once they were all down, I picked up a handgun and cautiously walked down the foyer to the grand room.
Roaming my gaze around the room, I tried to comm Violet when I noticed my earpiece had fell off.
"Shit," I cursed under my breath.
As I was about to move, I suddenly let out a shaky breath when I saw several guards heading in my way, carrying expandable batons instead of guns. I looked up at the stairs, then behind me as more guards piled in, totally surrounding me, eyeing me like a prey.
"I really do admire your boldness, Agent Scarlett," said the familiar voice, making clench my jaw in anger. I stared at the guards in front as they moved sideways, making a way for Helena, "...and your timing," she added when she appeared, a smile was written on her face, but my gaze was stirred to the woman her two guards had dragged behind.
"Liv!" I called, half-shouted.
"You're not supposed to be here Scarlett," she responded anxiously.
I shook my head, "You know I can't leave you alone, Liv."
"Oh, how romantic..." Helena interfered mockingly, making me glare at her, "your timing is truly impeccable agent...You see, we were getting into the good part where Olivia was finally going to shoot one of her parents...but then you decided to interrupt us, which is... not cool."
"You're sick, Helena!" I hissed, thinking about what she just said. Knowing Olivia, I knew she couldn't hurt her parents, let alone shoot them. All I was worried about was how she was holding up, considering Helena's sick game was a traumatic experience for her. "What did the Coxs ever do to you?"
"It's a need-to-know basis, and you don't need to know...Anyway, since you're here, why don't you join our game? It would be fun, just like last time. I promise."
"What makes you think I would want to join your sick game?"
She grinned wickedly, "Oh, dear, I'm not asking, you will join my game...Boys, I want her alive!" With that being said, she turned her back and strode off, followed by the two guards who were holding Liv. Although I wanted to go after them and free Olivia, I had to stop myself when I eyed the guards surrounding me, surely they wouldn't make it easy for me. I readied myself as I adjusted my hold on the gun, waiting for their attack as I returned their stares. But as the moment went on, none of them moved, it seemed like they were waiting for one another to start the chaos.
Feeling impatient, I swiftly raised my gun and immediately squeezed the trigger, hitting the guard in front, knocking him back down. My sudden move was the cue to start the fight, and with a war cry, some of them charged towards me, and one by one I hit them with my bullets, not missing a shot, until I ran out of ammo. Throwing the gun to one of the guards, I kicked another one in his stomach, and dodged the baton that was gonna hit my head, before taking it off from the guard's grasp, and smashed it into another skull. They stopped on their tracks as their gazes flickered from me to the guards lying on the floor, but it was for a fleeting moment before they charged once again.
I dodged and blocked their attacks as I could, but some managed to hit me, making me clench my jaw as I endured the pain all over my body, but after all, there was no way I would be defeated with these guys. They may be great in number, but their attacks were sloppy and predictable. The only thing I was worried about now was that I was running out of breath, I could feel the exhaustion in me, and it looked like this would take a while as some of the guards were getting back up again.
I deflected the guard's attack, and swiftly pulled the knife from my boot, stabbing the guard on his chest. Sensing a movement from behind, I kicked another guard who just came up in front of me and promptly stepped to the side, merely avoiding the baton that was going to hit my back, and thrust the knife to my attacker from behind, in his stomach, before I turned around and slashed the guard who I kicked, in his throat.
The guards stopped on their tracks and looked at me reluctantly. I tuned my stance as I breathed heavily and returned their hesitant stares, slowly wiping the blood smeared on my cheek. Only few were left, and I was pretty sure I could still keep up with them. I just had to keep my movement in bare-minimum, but precise, and when I was finished with them, I could go after Helena and save Olivia and her parents.
Wait for me Liv, I'll come for you.
Olivia
Forcing to leave Scarlett surrounded with Helena's guards had me worried to no end. Yes, Helena wanted her alive, but it didn't mean they wouldn't hurt her, until she could no longer fight. Why did she have to be so stubborn? She was making this worse for me because not only I was worried with my parents, but with her also. I didn't want something to happen to her because of me, it was the last thing I wanted for her.
"Why don't we just get over this Helena? You don't need Scarlett to join your game," I said as I tried to wriggle free from the guards' hold.
"Are you that eager to shoot one of your parents Olivia?" she queried, then strode to my parents stopping behind my dad, and brought her face closer to his ear, mumbling something before pecking him on the cheek. She then looked at me, settling her hands on my dad's shoulders. "Scarlett will make our game more fun darling, and it's just a matter of time before my bodyguards drag her into this hall.
"You must know by now that your bodyguards are no match for my Scarlett."
Smiling, she walked in my direction, and stopped in front of me, "We'll see about that," she responded, and as if on cue, the door on the further end suddenly burst opened and came in her four lackeys, catching me off guard when I saw the woman they were hauling.
"Violet?" I mumbled confusedly.
"Hi, Olivia," she managed to greet across the hall, smirking, despite the blood running down the side of her face, "...and hello, mother," she added menacingly, her smirk had completely vanished when she looked at Helena.
"Ahhh, it's always nice to see you, darling."
Violet snorted bitterly, "Apparently, the feeling's not mutual."
"That's fine. I don't really care," Helena retorted, and Violet didn't counter back, instead she roamed her gaze as if she was looking for something, or rather someone.
"Where's little Red? And your sidekick Victoria, was it? Did they abandon you?" she suddenly asked.
"Oh, please, don't make me laugh. Victoria will be here soon, if you must know. I don't want her to miss my victory...And as for Red...honestly, I don't know where she is. Since that day I sent her and Elle to kill Olivia here..." she craned her neck to look at me briefly, "they didn't come back. Did you or Scarlett perhaps manage to kill those poor souls and bury their bodies, or dump them somewhere?" I pursed my mouth shut when that time I killed Elle crossed my mind. Of course Helena had to mention her name, reminding me the guilt I wanted to forget.
"Elle's dead," I mumbled.
Helena turned to me with a raised eyebrow, "What?"
I gulped the lump on my throat, "She's dead...I killed her."
She snorted, "What? Are you serious?" she asked incredulously, and when I didn't answer and just stared at her, she suddenly burst into laughter. My gaze flickered to Violet and saw her faintly shaking her head looking at her crazy mother.
"Oh God..." Helena spoke as she wiped the corner of her eyes, "I can't believe Elle was killed, by you, of all people. That's just...funny. Elle really was useless." I clenched my jaw as I glared at her, keeping my anger at bay, thinking how she could easily laugh at someone's death. "Well, thanks for getting rid of that piece of shit," she added which was her final straw. Having enough of her mockery, I quickly elbowed the guard on my right, in his side, and kneed the one on my left, in his balls, and quickly grabbed his gun, firing it to the guard on my right first, before turning back to my left and pulled the trigger. As I turned in front, I caught sight of Violet doing the same to the four guards holding her down.
I aimed the gun at Helena. "You're next, Helena," I threatened, feeling a shiver ran down to  my spine from what I just said, but my attention snapped to my parents who seemed to tell me something as they hissed against the cloth on their mouths. Glancing at Violet, she stopped on her tracks when she was about to aim the gun she got, to Helena.
Helena smirked, making me frown, "I don't think so, Olivia."
"Put your gun down, young lady," said by the familiar voice behind me, before I heard a soft click of a gun. I tossed the gun to the side. "You too,Violet. You don't want to see her brain splatters, do you?" she hollered, and reluctantly, Violet did what she was told, slowly shaking her head in defeat.
Helena beamed, "Thank you for coming here, Victoria," Helena said gratefully.
"It's always a pleasure, Mother...I see you have visitors. Scarlett made quiet a mess at the grand room."
"Oh, it's fine. She can even burn the house if she wants to, as long as she would join the game and entertain me."
"That's what you think, Helena!" I snapped, "She wouldn't want to be a part of your game."
She smiled, conniving, "Oh, she will, darling, if it involves you." I curled my hands to fists, keeping myself from lunging at her. I knew she would use me to lure Scarlett into joining, and that was what I was afraid of. I just wished Scarlett would just save her ass while she could, I didn't want her to be a hero and save us, because I knew Violet, my parents and I, were already doomed.
But if I could, I would want to save Violet because she wasn't supposed to be here, she got nothing to do with the fight between my parents and Helena.
When a moment of silence had passed, I heard the door suddenly burst opened, causing me to turn around in horror. My hope had instantly dissipated when I saw Scarlett standing in the doorway, covered in blood and cuts. She staggered towards us as I trained my gaze on her. With every step she took, my heart would torn to pieces, thinking she was walking to her imminent death. She wasn't supposed to be here...Why did I let this happened?
She stopped on her tracks, and slowly raised the baton she was holding, pointing to Helena. "You're going to die, Helena."
