                    One month later...
I snuggled closer, smiling at the same time as I watched Scarlett's sleeping face, looking so peaceful and beautiful. Yet, I had to wake her up so she could start preparing for breakfast with my parents, and as for me, I had to get home before my parents would notice I was gone, since I sneaked out last night to come here.
"Babe, wake up," I mumbled, poking her cheek at the same time. I hated waking her up because for one, we slept like late last night, doing some sexy stuff after being apart, I knew we both were pretty exhausted, and another, well, I loved to admire her sleeping face.
When she just groaned in response, I rolled my eyes before getting up and straddled her. If she wouldn't wake up, then maybe a simple teasing would do.
Smirking, I leaned down and planted few kisses on her neck, teasingly. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this as it would take a lot of self-restrain for me, and beside me wanting to wake her up, I couldn't help myself but tease her as she was pretty irresistible.
She stirred as my lips hovered to hers, and I kissed her passionately. It didn't take long when I felt her responded to the kiss, and soon, she opened her eyes, and her electric blue orbs instantly met my gaze.
I pulled away, and smiled, "Are you awake now?"
She immediately smirked, "Babe, just so you know, I woke up before you did, and just waited for you to do that."
I cocked a brow, "What? Why didn't you wake me then? We could have started another quick round," I teased.
"Well..." she trailed, smiling, "we could start now," she said, pulling me down for another kiss. Everything felt so perfect right now, I could do this forever, but even if I wanted to take it further, my mind was screaming stop, reminding me about breakfast.
I pulled away, letting out a sigh of disappointment. "We can't. We don't want to be late, you know how dad is, he prides family breakfast...and basically you're family now."
She groaned, "You're making me regret not waking you up earlier..." she mumbled, disappointingly, then sighed, "but you're right... and I don't want to be late in our first family breakfast...as a couple," she said before pulling me down for one last brief kiss, "Now, come on, let's get up, I need to prepare and you need to go home. Do you want me to walk you home?"
I shook my head, "No need, baby, just take your time, and I'll see you later."
I got off the bed, looking for my skirt on the floor, and when I found it, I immediately slipped it on while looking at Scarlett who strode to the bathroom with just her undergarments on, looking sexy as ever.
"I'm gonna go, see you later babe," I hollered, shaking my head to vanish the naughty thoughts, and tied my hair instead. When I was done, and heard her response, I made my way out of the room, and headed downstairs, then walked out of the house with a wide smile written on my face.
It took a few minutes for me to reach the house, and even then, my smile hadn't disappeared, still thinking about my girlfriend, until I opened the door and saw dad standing in the middle of the living room, looking at me with a stern expression.
I slowly closed the door behind me, and forced a smile, "Dad, you're looking...healthy?" I mentally slapped myself when it came out wrong, making me look more stupid. I was about to say how he looked good as usual, but of all the things, I just had to say healthy.
How stupid.
"Where have you been Olivia?" he asked calmly.
"Um...I just went outside, you know, get some fresh air," I answered, trying to act nonchalant. He narrowed his eyes for a moment, crossing his arms on the chest.
"I'd say, you did more than just getting some fresh air...Come on, Olivia, you don't have to lie, I can tell you were with Scarlett."
I chuckled a little awkwardly, "Dad, why would I..." I trailed off, and sighed in defeat, "Okay, you got me. I was with Scarlett...and I kind of sneaked out last night..." I mumbled at the last part, averting my gaze at the same time. I could feel his burning stare at me, and I was unable to look back as I was feeling guilty.
I caught him on my periphery, walking towards me, and I forced myself to look at him again, as he stopped in front.
He sighed, shaking his head, "Honey, you don't have to lie to me about Scarlett. You know I wouldn't mind you going to her, if you will just tell me, but sneaking out? I don't approve that Olivia... After everything that's happened in our family, I couldn't relax not knowing where you're off to, or your mom, for that matter."
I held his hands, and looked at him apologetically, "Dad, I'm sorry, I didn't know...but you don't have to worry anymore... It's been a month, dad. Helena's dead, and the Red Circle is no more, you can relax, nothing's stopping you...Don't let the bad things that happened in the past stop you from living a life free from threats and constant worry."
"I know honey, but I wish I could...As a parent, I always worry about my family."
I let out a sigh, "Come here, you..." I said, pulling him in a hug. Now I felt bad, but I didn't mean to worry him though. The reason I sneaked out last night was because I just missed Scarlett. We rarely had a private time together when she was recovering back at the Agency since she was tightly monitored, as ordered by Black. And in remaining days back there, I wasn't able to be there for her until she got out because my parents had convinced me to go with them, like taking a short vacation, after everything we had been through. Of course, I refused at first knowing Scarlett needed me, she convinced me into going, and I did.
That time I was away from her, I realized how much I needed a break, after everything. Although I missed my girlfriend, I didn't realize until then, I also missed some me time. It had been a while since I got to walk on the street on my own without having to look over my shoulder, or shop without someone guarding me, and I admit, I missed the normalcy.
When we got back last night, Scarlett had called me, saying she was at the house across the street, and even if I was exhausted from the trip, I sneakily went to her. That was when she said dad had called her yesterday, inviting her for breakfast, one of the reasons why she went back to the house, and the other was, of course, to see me.
"So, how did you know I was with Scarlett?" I asked, recalling what dad had said earlier.
"The hickey..."
"What?" I asked confusedly, then his lips jutted out, gesturing to my neck, and when I understood what he was referring, I hissed under my breath when I recalled what Scarlett had done. She probably saw the mark earlier, and didn't even tell me, dad had to see it first before me. "Unless you have another girlfriend...or boyfriend who gave you that mark," dad added uncomfortably, and I immediately shook my head.
"Dad, how could you say that?" I asked in disbelief, "...I'm in love with my girlfriend, I would never cheat on her."
"Well, you said the same thing to your past relationships," he retorted.
"Scarlett is different, dad. What we have now...it's different from my past relationships, and I don't want to ruin it."
He suddenly smiled widely, "I'm proud of you honey...You're already acting like an adult."
"Shush, dad, don't make fun of me," I groused, causing him to chuckle and messed my hair. He then wrapped his arms around me, engulfing me in a tight hug, and I laid my head on his chest, closing my eyes, feeling the warmness of his fatherly hug.
*
Breakfast went uneventful. Aside from dad thanking Scarlett for everything, mom had also invited her for the grand opening of her art gallery in two days. Looking at mom, while she enthusiastically told us about the details of the opening, I couldn't help but smile and felt excited for her because finally, she would be able to share her works to the people, which was supposedly a few months ago, before Helena happened, and ruined everything. I was excited, but I couldn't even imagine what she was feeling, knowing she was slowly accomplishing her goals.
After we had our breakfast, Scarlett and I spent some time together, and talked about what was next for us. According to her, probably soon, she would be given an easy mission, which meant that, there was a possibility we would be apart for I didn't know how long. I had no idea what would this mean to us, because frankly, we were new to this kind of relationship we had, and I didn't know if I could do like a long distance relationship. Even if I hated the thought, I couldn't do anything about it, 'perk' of having an agent as a girlfriend, I did say... But so long as Scarlett wouldn't give up on us, then there wouldn't be any reason for me to do the opposite.
As time flew by, I felt like I couldn't get enough of the moment we had, and wanted to spend longer time with her, but then she decided to go since she had something to get, saying it was a surprise for me, and that I had to wait for her. Yes, I waited for her, but it wasn't long when I remembered something.
Instead of waiting for her to come back, I found myself getting in my new car, and maneuvered to the road with the only thought of a certain person.
Fifteen minutes later, I reached her house, and pulled to the curb. Stopping myself from thinking of what I should say to her, I heaved a deep sigh, and reluctantly got out of the car. I slowly strode to the front door, gaze flickering in my surrounding. As far as I remembered, this was where she was living, unless they relocated to another place without saying so.
I raised my hand, and knocked on the door twice, and it didn't take long when I heard an unlocking sound inside, then the door swung open, revealing the person I was expecting to see.
"Can I he--...Olivia?"
"Hi...Sara," I greeted timidly.
Her brows knitted, "W-What are you doing here?"
"Can I...talk to you for a minute?" She looked at me for a moment, before nodding reluctantly.
"Okay, sure," she mumbled, stepping aside to let me in. I flashed a grateful smile at her before stepping inside. I heard her closed the door behind me, and waited for her to lead the way further inside.
We reached their cozy living room, and she turned to look at me.
"Please, have a seat. Um, is there anything you like to--"
I shook my head, "No, it's fine, thanks. I'll just be quick."
"Okay?" she mumbled uncertainly. I rubbed my palms together while looking at her, feeling a little nervous, as I wasn't used to what I was going to say to her. After everything I put her through, I knew she had to hear this.
"I'm here... because I want to apologize personally...I'm sorry, Sara...for everything you had been through because of me...because of my family. You didn't deserve everything that's happened to you, and I know this is late, but...yeah, I-I'm sorry."
There, I've said it.
"Um, Olivia, are...are you s-sick?"
My brow shot up, "What? Why are you asking me that?"
She looked at me sheepishly, "It's just that...you said sorry, like, easily?...I mean--"
"No, I get it," I interrupted, "I know I'm a bitch, and you didn't think I have it in me to say sorry."
"Y-Yeah, that's it."
I sighed, "Well, I'm sorry for that too, you know, for being so mean to you...I was so immature and insensitive that I didn't realize I was hurting other people..." I trailed off, taking a moment for myself, "Look, I-I'm not expecting you to forgive me Sara, I just... being here, and you listening to me...is enough for me." I looked at her doubtfully while she returned my gaze, silently, as if considering what I just said. An uncomfortable silence instantly loomed around us, and it was dragging on, until I started feeling stupid for coming here, that a little part of me was screaming to just turn my back and walk out of the house.
But I stood my ground, waiting for her to say something.
"Okay..." she said after a moment, "I forgive you Olivia."
"R-Really?" I stammered, looking at her in disbelief as I wasn't expecting her to forgive me that easily after all the horrible things I did to her, but she just did, and it made me realize why her and Scarlett instantly became close.
She is a good person.
She nodded, "Yeah, I mean, I kind of understood why you were so mean to me."
I crossed my arms on my chest, "Oh yeah?" I challenged as I smirked, lightening the mood.
"Yeah. Aside from your innate bitchiness...you hated me because you thought I was in love with Scarlett."
My brows perked up, "Were you not?"
She smiled, "Well, I thought I was in love with your girlfriend, but really I wasn't...Let's just say I mistook it for one...but don't get me wrong, I still love Scarlett, I'm just...not in love with her," she explained, and I mentally sighed in relief, forcing myself to stay calm and composed.
"So, how did you realize you weren't in love with her?" I asked curiously.
She hesitated, "Um, I don't think--"
"Oh..." I mumbled when I realized what I was doing. I was asking her like we were already close friends, and I bet she had realized it too when she hesitated. She must thought I was stupid for assuming she would share her love story or whatever with me. "Um, I'm sorry, I didn't realize it...I, uh, I think I should get going now," I said as I hastily turned my back to her, and was about to take a step forward when I felt a hand on my wrist, stopping me from doing so.
I looked at Sara's hand, then to her as she pulled her hand back, "It's fine Olivia, just...just stay...I-I feel like sharing," she said, and smiled sheepishly.
I slowly nodded, clearing my throat, "Um, okay, uh...can I sit?" I asked uncertainly.
Her face lightened up when she beamed, lowering herself down to the sofa, "Sure you can," she replied excitedly as she motioned for me to sit next to her, and I did.
*
Listening to Sara as she continued talking, I realized how interesting she could be. We just got reacquainted, but it was like she was treating me like a close friend, sharing some amusing things with me, and I couldn't be more grateful to her, for doing what friends would mostly do.
I admit, I was having a good time, and I didn't know how long we had been talking, until Scarlett decided to interrupt us by calling me, saying she was already in the house. Halfheartedly, I said goodbye to Sara, clearly disappointed that our little bonding had to end when we were getting to the best part of her story, and after inviting her to the grand opening, I made way out of her house with a big smile on my face, thinking I had gained a new good friend.
It took less than fifteen minutes reaching the house since there wasn't a sign of traffic, and as I maneuvered on the front yard, I immediately saw Scarlett by the doorway, probably waiting for me, plastering a huge smile.
I got out and smiled back at her as I strode to her direction.
"Look at you...happy to see me?" I asked in amusement.
"Hmm yeah, and I'm kind of excited for your surprise..." she answered giddily, "But before that, how did it go?"
I smiled, "Sara and I are getting there. She's actually an interesting person. Now I know why you two eventually got close."
"I'm glad you two are getting along. Thank you for doing that, babe."
"Yeah, it was the right thing to do, after everything, but...we'll talk about that later, for now, I want my surprise, so where is it?"
"In your bedroom, come on..." I followed her as she ardently led me to my bedroom upstairs. When we got to the stairs, she stopped, reaching out for my hand so we could walk side by side. We reached my bedroom's door, and before I could open it, she eventually stopped me.
"Close your eyes," she urged.
I rolled my eyes, "Okay, boss," I replied mockingly and closed my eyes. Hearing the door's soft creak, she held my arm as she slowly guided me inside the room. Every step I took further in, with eyes close, my heartbeat had picked up its pace as the excitement finally surged through me.
"Okay, open them now," I heard her say, and fluttered my eyes open. When I got a clear view, my jaw instantly dropped when I caught sight of her surprise. Seconds after, a single tear cascaded down my cheek, looking at the little thing with admiration as he was sleeping at the center of my bed.
"I-Is that...Oreo?" I stammered, feeling my heart burst in happiness.
"Yes, babe...it's our baby." I slowly strode to the bed, and sat down at the edge, reaching out my hand to touch Oreo. His eyes sprung open at the sudden contact, and instantly wagged his tail as if he recognized me. Quickly, he got up from his stupor and jumped at me, promptly licking my face, making me giggle while tears continued spilling.
"Surprised?" Scarlett asked as she took a seat next to me, wiping the tear off my cheek.
"Totally. Thank you babe," I said gratefully, "God, I miss him so much!"
She smiled, "Anything for you, baby."
I cuddled Oreo, and kissed his furry head before looking back at my girlfriend. "How did you find him? I-I thought he ran away, or didn't make it."
She reached out her hand, and gently tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear. "When things went awry, I decided to entrust him to someone I know, I mean, someone we know, who, I heard, really likes dogs."
I frowned, "Who?"
"Don't be mad, I...let Stephanie took care of him."
"You what?...That cheerleader who has a crush on you?"
She reluctantly nodded, "Sorry. She was the first person I thought of at that time...and I guess she did a pretty good job taking care of Oreo, look how big he is now," she remarked, stroking Oreo's back. Even if I was a little annoyed knowing Stephanie got her hands on Oreo, I still felt thankful that she took good care of my little baby.
"Hmm, yeah, you're right...I guess you made the right decision then..." I sighed, pushing off the slight annoyance I felt, and smiled gratefully at my girlfriend. "Thanks again baby, you make me so happy...I love you."
She pulled me in, kissing my forehead, "And I love you, so much."
*
"First of all...I would like to thank all of you, for sparing time from your busy schedule just to attend this grand opening of mine, it really means a lot to me, thank you so much...Okay, um, how should I start this..." she chuckled nervously, "God, I apologize everyone...honestly, I wasn't able to make a speech because I was so busy, and nervous, well, until now, I'm pretty shaking. I must say, standing in front of you is nerve-wracking..." she said jokingly, making the guests snicker. "Okay, so...when I was young, I remembered how I used to sell some of my things, just to buy brushes, and paints, and stuff I needed..."
My gaze flickered to Scarlett standing next to me when she pulled me closer as she wrapped her arm around my hips. Liking the close proximity, I smiled, before giving her a wink, and she immediately returned the gesture, then took a sip of her champagne.
"And then one day, I bumped into someone while I was on my way back to home, strewing the art supplies I was carrying all over the pavement. I was really mad at that time because I was in a hurry, but when I looked up, and saw Felix, my husband..." her gaze flickered to dad, and smiled, "everything had stopped..."
"Your mom's so in love with Felix," Scarlett mumbled, causing me to let out a soft chuckle.
"Yeah, just like how I'm in love with you, babe" I replied casually as I smirked.
"Shush, you're making me blush babe," she replied playfully.
"To my husband, who's always on my side, who encourages me to fulfill my dreams...and who loves me more than I deserve, I love you so much, my dear, and thank you for everything...I'm lucky to have met you, and I couldn't ask for a better husband than you..."
"Oh, this is getting sappy," I mumbled as a tear threatened to roll down.
"Yeah," she said, stroking my arm.
"And for years of living a happy married life, we were gifted with a beautiful and loving daughter, who grew up to be a fine young lady. Even if she's stubborn at times, and a bit mean..." mom looked at me, smirking, while I shook my head, narrowing my eyes at her as I feigned angry,"I still love her more than my life...Olivia, honey, I love you so much..."
"I love you too mom," I mouthed, and gave her a flying kiss.
"And I love you," Scarlett whispered beside me.
"You're sweet, I love you too," I said, and briefly kissed her lips.
"Without my husband and my daughter, I wouldn't be able to reach my dreams...I wouldn't be able to create these paintings you are seeing, and mostly, I wouldn't be able to get where I am now...They are my treasure...my inspiration...my life...So, as a thank you, I dedicate this art gallery to you Felix, my loving husband, and Olivia, my beautiful daughter..." mom trailed off as everyone applauded her.
"You rock, Mrs. Cox!" Scarlett suddenly yelled, causing me to erupt in laughter.
When the applause quieted down, mom continued her speech, "And of course, to everyone in this room, you are also the reason why I tried so hard to make everything possible. You bring out the artist in me...and I would be forever grateful to all of you...so cheers everyone!" We raised our glasses and hollered 'cheers', "Thank you, and enjoy the night!"
After mom had given her speech, guests had started to gather around her, making it difficult to get to her. I wanted to congratulate her once again for doing a great job, but from the looks of it, I had to wait for later when she was alone, which was kinda disappointing because I wanted to congratulate her first.
Shaking my head, I felt a hand slipped on mine, and I looked up to see Scarlett smiling at me softly.
"Let's just take a look around, there's still more we haven't seen," she offered.
"Yeah, that would be nice," I said halfheartedly. As we turned our back from mom, I caught sight of Sara and Violet by the entrance, clearly looking for someone familiar. "Babe, they're here," I said, and she followed my gaze.
"Yeah, let's go to them first." We made our way to the entrance, hand in hand, maneuvering out of the crowd.
"Sara!" I called, beaming at them. When the two girls saw us, they smiled and met us halfway. "I'm glad you both made it," I added, brushing my cheek to Sara's, and then when I met Violet's gaze, I reluctantly did the same to her. "Violet," I mumbled before pulling back next to my girlfriend. I couldn't even look at her still because of what I did to her mom. Yes, it has been a month since that happened, but I still hadn't got the chance to say sorry to her as we rarely saw each other back at the Agency, and we hadn't seen each other outside since then.
"This place is amazing Olivia," Sara complimented, bringing my attention to her. "Thanks for inviting us."
"Yeah, no problem...Um, could you two give me and Violet a second, I just need to talk to her...If that's okay with you Violet." She averted her gaze from mine and looked at Sara, then to Scarlett, before meeting my gaze once again.
"Yeah, sure."
"Find us after babe," Scarlett said, and I nodded, "Come on, Sara."
When the other two was out of earshot, I turned to Violet.
"Can we talk outside?" I asked reluctantly.
She nodded, "Okay," she answered, and turned her back on me. I followed her out, smiling at the few guests on the way. When we reached outside, the cold breeze of the night instantly hit me, causing me to slightly shiver.
Rubbing my exposed arms, I eventually stopped on my tracks when Violet did so, turning to face me.
"So, what are we gonna talk about?" she asked curiously, her voice seemed distant. Taking a deep breath, I glanced at the passing cars, avoiding Violet's gaze for a moment as it was starting to burn holes on me, but when I got the courage, I looked back at her firmly.
"I want to say sorry..."
She frowned, "For what?"
"For what I did to Helena. I know it's been a month, and I'm sorry that it took this long to apologize to you. But I mean it Violet, I really am sorry...I couldn't imagine what you've been going through since."
"I don't blame you Olivia, you did what you had to do...Honestly, her death was my fault, and I blamed myself for that instead...I left her, because I couldn't stand what she had slowly become, and I regretted it the most, because I didn't even try to stop her from changing...If I had been there for her, then maybe...just maybe, I could have prevented everything that has happened."
I shook my head, " You couldn't have known Violet, and it's not your fault Helena had became the way she was."
She took a deep breath, "I know that, but still..."
"Stop blaming yourself..."
"Well, I'm trying to," she replied, "but it would take a while."
"Hey, no rush there," I reassured, making her smile.
"You know what...you've changed."
I raised an eyebrow, and snorted, "What? Why would you say that?"
"It's just...you say sorry like it has become your second nature." My jaw dropped for a second there when I recalled how Sara said the same thing the other day.
"It's funny how your girlfriend said the same thi--" I instantly shut my mouth when I realized what I said.
Shit, I slipped. I wasn't supposed to mention the 'girlfriend' word until Sara could say yes to her later tonight.
"Uh what? You mean Sara? She still haven't--"
"No, forget it, that came out wrong," I immediately took back, chuckling awkwardly.
"Olivia, what are you--"
"No, leave me alone!" Someone yelled from behind, stopping me from talking, and I turned to the direction of the familiar voice, by the entrance, and saw Scarlett emerged from the door. She quickly strode to the other side, without sparing a glance at her surrounding. When I was about to call her, Black suddenly came to view, and followed Scarlett, promptly grabbing her by the arm, stopping her from walking away.
"He's back?" I mumbled beside Violet.
"Yeah, just earlier..." she answered. I frowned, thinking what he could have possibly said to my girlfriend that made her mad. But how dare he? After he took off, saying he just had a mission to do, while Scarlett was still in infirmary's bed, wanting to talk to him so badly. And now he was back, and made my girlfriend angry.
Not cool!
Steeling myself, I strode towards them, but stopped by the entrance when dad appeared beside me.
"What happened? I saw Scarlett and Steve..." he trailed off when I nodded to their direction. Without saying something, he strode towards them, putting a hand on Black's shoulder, catching his attention. He gently pushed Black away from Scarlett, and stood beside her as he looked at Black sternly.
"What seems to be the problem here Steve?" dad asked calmly.
"Felix, this is between me and my-- Scarlett...just give us some privacy."
As I watched them staring at each other, my attention snapped to a red BMW which started moving slow as it got nearer. Narrowing my eyes, I tried to make out who was inside as the window rolled down, and when I saw who was in it, my eyes widen as a familiar redhead appeared on view, and slowly, her hand moved...that was when I saw a submachine gun she was pointing.
"Get down!!" I shouted as I promptly ducked down to the pavement, and then immediately heard a rapid gunfire...
Scarlett
After Olivia randomly shouted, rapid gunfire then erupted, and I instinctively tackled Felix to the ground without knowing where the shooter was as the gunfire went on, but it didn't last long when it stopped after few seconds, then I heard a sound of a car zooming off.
I stayed on the ground for seconds, until I was sure the shooter was gone, and groaning, I heaved myself up, and suddenly felt a hand on my arm.
"Scarlett!" Olivia called worriedly, and I looked at her anxiously, "Oh my God, you're shot!"
I shook my head, "No, I don't feel anything..." I mumbled, looking down at my blood-stained white dress, but when I realized whose blood it was, my gaze instantly snapped to Felix.
"Felix,"
"Dad!" We both went to Felix who was still lying on the ground, coughing blood, his dress shirt was now stained with blooming red.
"Call 911!" I shouted to the few people who started to gather around us.
"No, daddy, stay with me..." Olivia cried while I put pressure on his wounds. Black suddenly sidled beside me while Violet took her place next to Liv.
"Hang in there Felix," Black mumbled.
"Dad, hold on, please, please," Liv pleaded as she held her dad's hand to her cheek.
"H-Honey, take...take care of your m-mom, for me..."
Olivia shook her head, "No dad, we'll both gonna take care of mom."
"I...love you b-both," Felix said in between coughs, and with one last smile, his eyes rolled back in his head. I promptly pressed two fingers on his neck, and felt no pulse.
I looked at Liv, and slowly shook my head.
"No, no, no, daddy, don't do this...You can't do this to me," Liv bawled, and my tears fell as I watched her cradled Felix in her arms, pleading for him to wake up. Not long after, I heard her mom screamed, running in our direction, and hunkered down. Black, Violet, and I eventually stood up, giving the family some space, as the two women wept for Felix.
My heart ached as I watched them, blaming myself at the same time for what had happened to Felix. If I hadn't let my emotions got the best of me, then I wouldn't have stormed out like I did. It was because of me that he had gone out, and he died, because I wasn't able to protect him like I wanted to.
It was all my fault.
Wiping my tears, I walked to Liv's side, and crouched down, pulling her in a hug. She sobbed against my chest, holding onto me tightly as I stroke her back. For now, I had to stop blaming myself becauseI needed to be strong for her as she needed me right now.
Few minutes after, sirens could be heard in the distance, and I tried to pull Liv away from the body, and led her to the corner, away from the crowd.
"Shhh, baby, I'm here..." I reassured, still hugging Liv.
It took a moment before Liv spoke up. "He's gone...H-He's gone, Scarlett..." she cried.
I sniffled, feeling her sadness, "I'm so sorry, Liv..." for failing to save him.
"I-I saw her, Scarlett."
"Who, baby?" I asked confusedly.
She looked up, and met my gaze, "Red...S-She did this."
"What?" I asked in disbelief.
"She killed daddy," she mumbled through tears, clenching her jaw, "I'll make her pay...I'll make her pay...I'll kill her..."
"Oh, Liv..." I pulled her in once again to calm her down, but she gently pushed me, to meet my gaze with steely expression.
"You have to help me, baby, please," she appealed, and I nodded.
"Of course, I'll help you find Red."
She shook her head, "No, I'll find her by myself...I want you, no, I need you..." she stared at me, "to help me get in the Agency, Scarlett."
