Everyone in the room was in a state of shock as they realized that their Lord was carrying a young boy—specifically, a newly turned vampire—as he made his way to the throne.
The lord sat down on the throne, his eyes returning to their original ruby red color and his expression returning to one of seriousness and coldness, in contrast to how he had been holding the youngster on his lap.
Haneul and the friends who were captured didn't know what was happening or why the vampire was treating their youngest friend in that way.
Haneul gathered his courage and tried to continue his plan: ''S-so let us go since I've fulfilled my part of the deal. A-and make us turn into human beings again, please.''
The vampires snickered at the words as if Haneul was telling the biggest joke; it confused him.
Did he say something wrong? He decided to talk again; they must flee from this place quickly before Jungkook woke up.
''Keep your pr_''
''What is his name?''
''Huh?''
V didn't answer, but his eyes were looking at the boy in his arm. His mate was a boy, yet he was so pretty. It looked like he had lived so miserably, but the roughness of the world couldn't conceal his beauty. The doe eyes that were staring at him earlier, V couldn't wait to see them again.
When he didn't hear anymore, Haneul finally understood what V was asking.
''His name is Jeon Jungkook.''
V looked straight at Haneul like he was ordering him to continue talking. Haneul didn't understand why the vampire was curious about Jungkook, but he had no choice, didn't he?
''Um, we have been friends since a very young age, in the orphanage. He is the youngest of the house, um, 21 years old.''
''So, you are telling me the boy who looks nothing but evil, from the orphanage, offered money to you? To trace us? You think you can get out of here after telling some shitty lies, you fucker?''
Oh shit.
Haneul gulped at the angry roar, already regretting his actions, so he did the exact thing he should do. He kneeled on the ground, tears streaming down his face.
''I-I lied; yes, I'm telling a lie. Jungkook has nothing to do with this; he is innocent. The real culprit is not willing to come here and tell us to solve this mess ourselves, so Jungkook is just trying to help us. Please, you can kill me and us, but release him. I apologize for my lie; just kill us.''
The other friends who were tied down to the ground were also nodding their heads as if agreeing to Haneul's words.
They had been confused since Haneul brought Jungkook instead of Seoji, but they decided to shut their mouths, not wanting to interrupt whatever Haneul was planning. But now, Jungkook is the last one who should pay for their greed instead of them.
V twitched his lips sarcastically and said, ''Of course, you all should die. You did the most human thing by putting the blame on someone just because you wanted to save yourself. The transformation from human to vampire is irreversible; there is no turning back.
If you don't drink blood within 48 hours, you will die of hunger. Your internal organs will likely be burned by vampire venom, and your body will feel as though it is being roasted, slowly dying. But at least you regretted it, so I'll let you die quick; tell me the name of the real culprit before.''
Haneul wiped out his tears and gritted his teeth. ''Seoji. He was adopted by a powerful businessman at a young age and grew up to be rich, manipulative, and condescending towards others. We suspect that his obsessive interest in vampires may be related to his father. The family's surname is Gu."
V stood up from the throne, stepping down slowly while gently carrying the boy in his hand.
''That's a piece of good information. Don't worry about your friend; I will take care of him," he said, before leaving the throne room with four headless bodies scattered on the ground.
His bedroom was spacious and decorated everything with black and red colors.
V placed the boy on his bed, the porcelain skin looking paler due to the silky red sheets. He brushed out the soft hair of the ethereal face, examining the features one by one: the cute button nose, which looked so inviting to take a bite, and the pink pouty lips, which made him chuckle out loud. His little mate was too adorable.
His soft eyes hardened when they reached the bite marks on the wrists; luckily, the scars were fading, or he would bring those two vampires' lives back just to kill them again. How dare they touch his mate?
The vampire venom was little in the system, but enough to start transformation.
V sighed, thinking about what'd be reaction of the little one when he woke up, learning about vampires, himself turning into one, and his friends being killed by his mate. But those assholes deserved it, and V didn't regret killing them.
He now needed to complete two tasks: locate Gu Seoji and eradicate his entire bloodline.
He is the lord of the underworld; killing a mere hundred vile people shouldn't be all that difficult for him.
V cast a final glance at his pretty mate. He had a good 40 hours to do the task and had to come back to feed his little fledgling.
He smiled at the thought, which he rarely did, but the times he smiled today were more than he did his entire life. He couldn't help but be too excited to teach his mate a little trick and maybe go hunting together. Oh my...
Feeling excited, V left the room and ordered some guards to watch over the boy, especially to call him by a mind link if something happened.
Luckily, the guards already got a hint that the boy was special to V from the moment their lord left the throne room by carrying him gently.
Because their Lord's usual behaviors were nothing but gentle.
