The manager explained with a smile, "That's because our boss applied a multiplier voucher for this young lady. The amount was tripled, so it became five million dollars. There was no miscalculation. She can accept the five million without returning a cent."
Everyone was speechless, thinking, 'A multiplier voucher? What is this, some kind of shopping app promo?'
No matter how much the others tried to object, the money ended up in Olivia's hands with every last cent of it.
The manager, having completed his task, walked away cheerfully.
After holding it in all day, Chloe finally broke down. She burst into tears and threw herself into Dylan's arms. Even though she hadn't lost anything, she couldn't stand Olivia getting such big prizes.
Chloe's friends immediately turned on Olivia with righteous glares.
Someone said, "Olivia, that was too much. Why would you humiliate Chloe? She's never blamed you for stealing her husband. She's tried to be civil with you, and you just had to be petty and make her look bad in public?"
Another added, "Chloe's such a kind person, and you still go after her. You're seriously vicious."
Someone else snapped, "Vile wretches like you always get what's coming to them."
Olivia snorted, "I get that all of you loyal lapdogs are desperate to protect your queen, but this is a civilized society. Everything requires evidence. Barking louder doesn't make you right."
Kaitlyn turned red with rage, but she knew shouting back at Olivia wouldn't get her anywhere.
She turned to Dylan and said angrily, "Mr. Wilson, can't you see how Olivia made Chloe cry and is still acting so smug about it? You have to stand up for Chloe, or Olivia's just going to keep bullying her even worse."
Chloe didn't say anything, but the way she cried in Dylan's arms made her look even more aggrieved.
Dylan immediately turned to Olivia with a stern expression. "Apologize to Chloe. Right now," he ordered.
Olivia chuckled, clearly amused, "We've been together all day. I haven't done a single thing to her. Why should I apologize?"
Dylan said firmly, "Even if you didn't do anything, she cried because of you. That means you should apologize."
He thought, 'This whole trip was supposed to cheer Chloe up, but Olivia made her feel even worse. That's on her.'
Olivia shot back, "She's crying because she's petty and jealous that I won these prizes. She can't stand seeing me benefit from anything, so she got mad and cried. That's her problem, not mine.
"Are you retarded, or did the Wilson family's upbringing go wrong? What kind of idiot forces someone who did nothing wrong to apologize to someone that narrow-minded?"
Dylan's expression darkened.
Olivia continued, "Fine, I'll apologize. Let's start a livestream and tell everyone that Chloe got jealous because I won some prizes, tried to get it revoked, failed, and I ended up getting it. So she cried out of anger.
"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have won and triggered the jealousy of the kind, selfless Ms. Lane. I sincerely apologize and beg her not to be jealous of me. How's that?"
The moment she finished, everyone's face dropped.
Chloe's face flushed with rage, as if she'd just been stripped bare in front of a crowd—completely humiliated.
"Darling, she's slandering me. I'm jealous of her at all," Chloe grumbled with a wronged look.
But after everything Olivia said, Dylan no longer had the nerve to keep forcing her to apologize. He also realized that making her apologize had been unreasonable to begin with.
Kaitlyn, ever loyal to her queen, immediately jumped out and snapped, "You bitch, stop slandering Chloe. Chloe is practically Mr. Wilson's wife. Mr. Wilson will give her however much money she wants. Why would she ever be jealous of your lousy little prizes?
"You better apologize to Chloe right now. Otherwise, once she marries Mr. Wilson, you're going to be screwed."
But then Olivia just slapped Kaitlyn right across the face.
"You hit me? How dare you hit me?" Kaitlyn was about to lose her mind, her eyes bloodshot with rage.
Olivia calmly stretched her fingers. "The title of 'Mr. Wilson's wife' is that powerful? Then I guess I'll make use of it."
She looked up at Dylan. "Mr. Wilson, Kaitlyn has yelled at me and insulted me more than once. As your wife, do I have the right to ask you to terminate all business with Dixon Group?"
Before Dylan could say a word, Chloe couldn't help but mock her, "Kaitlyn's my friend. As long as I'm here, Dylan won't harm the Dixon family. In fact, I'll have him deepen the partnership."
Kaitlyn burst into exaggerated laughter. "What a joke. So what if you're Mr. Wilson's wife? He doesn't even love you. You're just Mrs. Wilson in name only."
Dylan said coolly, "Business partnerships involve a lot of people. It's not something that can be canceled on a whim.
"And besides, Kaitlyn only speaks that way because she's trying to defend Chloe. It's a good thing Chloe has a friend who stands up for her. I'm not going to let Chloe lose a friend who truly cares about her just because of you."
Kaitlyn looked smug. "That Mrs. Wilson title doesn't work on just anyone. Without Mr. Wilson's approval, even a beggar has more weight than you do."
Olivia didn't get angry. She calmly took out her phone, pulled up Morgan's number from her contacts, and called. "I'll ask Morgan directly and see if he approves of me."
Everyone's expression changed. Dylan even reached out and grabbed her phone. "Are you serious? You're really going to tattle to Grandpa?"
But the call had already connected. The phone was on speaker, and Morgan's voice came through the speaker clearly. "Ollie? Why are you calling so late at night? Did Dylie do something to you?"
There was a time difference between the two countries—while it was evening here, it was already the middle of the night back home.
Olivia lowered her voice and said gloomily, "Yeah, he—"
Dylan grabbed her arm hard and muttered under his breath through clenched teeth, "I'll do what you want. Just don't tell Grandpa."
If Morgan found out, there was a chance he'd trace it back to Chloe. And if Morgan knew about Chloe, he might send someone to deal with her. Dylan couldn't risk that.
Besides, Morgan's health wasn't great. If he found out about Chloe and got so upset that he ended up collapsing, Dylan would be the one blamed for killing him.
A smile lifted at the corner of Olivia's lips, and her tone suddenly softened. "He won't even let me go out just so you can have a great-grandchild sooner.
"We finally went abroad, but I've been stuck in the hotel the whole time. It's so annoying. Morgan, can you please talk some sense into him for me?"
Her voice carried a playful pout, sounding just like a loving wife teasingly complaining to an elder.
"That brat's finally doing something right." Morgan let out a hearty laugh. "You must've been exhausted. When you come back, I'll give him a good scolding. For now, just enjoy yourselves over there. Don't rush. Have fun and come home when you're ready."
Olivia chatted with Morgan for a while longer before ending the call.
"All right. Time for you to keep your promise. Call your assistant now and get it arranged." Olivia gave Dylan a mocking look.
"Mr. Wilson, please don't go after Dixon Group." Kaitlyn finally panicked, her face full of fear as she begged for mercy.
If Novara Group ended all business dealings with Dixon Group, other companies would hear about it, assume they'd offended Novara Group, and stop working with them as well.
Besides, Dixon Group had been on the verge of bankruptcy. Their revival only happened after partnering with Novara Group. If that partnership ended now, Dixon Group would definitely go under.
Kaitlyn pleaded, "Chloe, please talk to Mr. Wilson for me. Dixon Group can't survive without Novara Group's support."
Chloe said tearfully, "Sweetheart, Kaitlyn is my best friend. Can't you let this go for my sake? If my friend's family ends up in a crisis because she defended me, and I can't help her, my friends will never stand up for me again."
With that, her tears began to fall.
Dylan replied in a low voice, "This is something I promised Olivia. I can't go back on my word. If I do, and she gets Grandpa involved, it won't just be about ending a business deal.
"Grandpa spoils Olivia beyond reason. If he finds out Kaitlyn insulted her, the Dixon family might never be seen in Hillbron again.
"That includes you. If Grandpa finds out about you, you'll be in danger too. I can't let that happen to you."
Chloe's face turned pale, and her jealousy and anger only deepened. She thought, 'Why does Olivia get everything handed to her? Why does Morgan adore her so much? I'm like a rat hiding in the gutter, clinging to Dylan's side, constantly on edge, sneaking around.
'I can only show off in front of a few friends, and now I can't even protect them. I've lost all dignity. How am I supposed to keep my place in our circle after this?'
Dylan had already pulled out his phone and called his assistant back home, Ivan, giving him instructions to start handling the termination of the partnership with Dixon Group.
Terrified, Kaitlyn dropped to her knees in front of Olivia, clutching at her pants and pleading desperately, "Olivia, I'm sorry. Please, I'm begging you, have some mercy on me. Don't destroy my family.
"If my dad finds out we lost the Novara Group deal because I couldn't keep my mouth shut, he'll kill me. Why do women have to tear each other down? Isn't it supposed to be all about girls supporting girls now?
"We're both women—you can't pit yourself against me like this. That kind of toxic competition between women is petty and disgraceful. People look down on that. Please, just let me off the hook."
Olivia shook her off and said calmly, "Sorry. I'm not some trendy empowerment-slogan girl. I'm old-school. You mess with me, I get even. I settle debts, not based on gender, but on what's owed."
