When l got home l was surprised to see the whole family in the living room but since l wasn't talking to them l made sure to mumble a soft hello then continued my way to my room.
"Bella come sit" dad said and l shrugged and settled on an empty sit but l kept my mouth shut. l was tired of being treated like a child.l just wanted them to give me chance to live my life without them on my case every time.
"What do you want from us ,l don't remember anything we said and did that day that warrants the silent treatment that you've been giving us"
"If it's about boys though then trust me l would rather you be angry at us than have you heartbroken or better yet pregnant "Elonzo concluded.
"Well since you have it all figured out then fine ,may l be excused "l said looking at dad but he seemed confused at my reaction.l don't think that they understand that what l don't want is them suffocating me.
Yes l have a crush on Killian but it would have been nice if they hadn't humiliated me just because l mentioned that l happened to see him.
"Rosa just talk to us and l promise we'll do things your way" Alex said crouching in front of me holding my hands. l know my family though, they might promise to listen to me but at the end of the day they just do what suits them and l am tired of being treated like a fragile little egg with no thoughts of it's own.
"You guys are suffocating me" l said and they all looked shocked by what l said but it is honestly the truth.
"What " dad snapped and l flinched a bit at his anger because it was rare to see my father angry and that too in font of me.
"Mateo let the child speak" nonna said chiding him and l smiled at her in appreciation.
"You shelter me and coodle me from the world but l just want to experience it, l want to experience the good and the bad. l know you're just trying to protect me but you're hurting me in the process. l want to live but for that to happen you guys have to let me go a bit"
"Let you go?"Elonzo asked
"Let me grow" l said to assure him.
"l agree with her Matteo, you didn't coodle Alex this much when he was her age, is it because he is a boy and she's a girl" nonna asked turning the tables at dad and l almost laughed at how taken aback my poor father looked but l was glad that at least someone in this house understood how l felt.
"You promised you'd let me live that day daddy but l know you lied" l told him even though l know how hurt he must feel hearing me say all this but l think it's needed.
"l don't know how though "dad said softly and l smiled moving to sit next to him and l rested my head on his shoulder.
"Baby steps" l offered staring at his blue eyes.
"You got it "he said.
l was giddy when we arrived at the Ivanov mansion but l couldn't express my thoughts to my crazy brothers. The mansion was more like a castle. Glass walls ,big chandeliers and there were people everywhere. Till date l hadn't seen a house bigger than ours and it was shocking because they were a family of 3.
Fallon looked different tonight and l noticed her before she could see me. She looked like someone l could recognize in myself before l got out of my shell. She followed her brother everywhere and you could tell being around people made her nervous.
Dad kept introducing me to his business acquaintances but l wasn't least bothered. In fact l didn't even think about Killian or look at him because my mind was on Fallon. If l could somehow get out of my shell then l was determined to make sure that Fallon did the same.
Lost in my thoughts l didn't even notice that we were in front of the Ivanov family. l felt arms being wrapped around me and l turned my attention to my friend who was beaming at me. l couldn't help but return her smile. Fallon and l were so similar and we understood each other better than the other three did. Being rich didn't mean our life was all princess like. We struggled through life like other people did.
"So you're the best friend "an older version of Killian said smiling at me while he gave e his hand to shake and l smiled shaking his hand.
"Rosabella De Luca" l said formally like l did with all the other guests.
"You raised her well Teo" Mr Ivanov said while embracing dad. l didn't know they were buddies but the way they behaved said otherwise.
"Princess won't you greet me too" a voice l knew all too well softy said beside me and l snapped my eyes to his green and gorgeous eyes.
"It's nice meeting you Mr Ivanov" l said and almost kicked my own foot at the same time. Stupid ,why didn't you just say his name.
"Actually l go by Killian "he said and l couldn't help but grin at the smile in his face. So far l heard that Killian does not smile in fact they say he doesn't have any emotions except anger but they were wrong.
"Killian l see you've met my sister" Alex said putting his arms in my shoulder and l couldn't help but curse him in my mind. They just have a way of ruining things l groaned.
"Did you say something "he asked looking at me knowingly and l faked him a smile. Alex knew about my crush on Killian and l could tell by the looks he was giving me.
"Stay away fro my sister Killian, you took your revenge with Alexa and it's enough "Alex said to Killian in anger pulling me away with him. We stopped at the buffet but my mind was reeling while thinking about the revenge thing.
