After Dad and I got the chance to hatch things out I took a shower and I joined everybody downstairs but this time my mood wasn't check and I was determined to be on my best to behavior ,after all first impressions last forever.
The whole family went quiet when I entered, but I kept my head up high, and I looked directly at my dad because he's the only person who can completely calm me down.
he stood up, and I went directly to him, and he kissed my forehead. I gathered my wits, and I looked at everybody.
" Hi." the woman whom my assume as my new stepmother said looking awkward and out of place and I understand why.
" I'm sorry about yesterday. It wasn't my intention to make you feel uncomfortable in your own home." I said, looking at this beautiful woman.
" No, I'm the one who should apologize for making you uncomfortable in your own home." she said, and I looked at her quizzically.
This is dad's house, which means that his wife has an equal share.
" Yes, I'm glad that you know that this is Rosabella's house more than it will ever be yours." Leonardo said rudely.
" Please forgive my brother's language." I apologized on his behalf because I know he isn't going to apologize.
" You don't have to ,we're used to them." One of the 2 brothers stood up, and l instantly felt my heart race, but dad touched my arms to soothe me.
"I'm Lorde, and this is my brother Matt." He said, gesturing to the one next to him, and l nodded.
" l'm Rosabella." l said.
it was definitely an awkward meeting because I didn't want them anyway near me, and they seemed really kind.
" Welcome back, Rosa." Alexa said, hugging me. time has definitely gone by, and she's grown into a beautiful young lady. she now resembles her mom and sisters a lot, and I'm happy for her.
" Thanks, Alexa." I don't even know why she has to welcome me at my own house, but maybe it's the jealousy speaking because I hate that she's been there for my brothers when I haven't been.
" The guys seem really happy." I could tell that she was feeling the exact same way I was, but I don't know why she tortures herself like this.
every time I leave, she tries to come and solidify her place here, but my brothers will always put me first.
" they should be because I missed them." I said, making them smile.
" How is your family." I did spend 13 years of my life with them, so I naturally wonder about them sometimes despite everything they put me through.
" they're okay. dad still works for the company, and mom is still a housewife, but my sisters opted to travel the world." I think time has taught her to finally accept them as her family, and l'm glad.
" I'll pay them a visit sometime soon." I've learned to forgive and let go of the past so I won't hold whatever they did against them for the rest of my life.
" I hear you are now a lawyer." she said, and she seemed like she was genuinely asking.
" an unemployed one at that." l said.
" as a board member of the De Luca group of companies, I don't think you have to worry about finding a job anyway because you could just take any one of their firms." Matt said.
" When did I become a board member." I know that my dad would probably give me anything I wanted but a whole board member.
" You're not just a board member. You're also a shareholder." Elonzo said.
" Now, where has the money been going to because I haven't been given anything." l joked.
I've really learned not to be surprised by the things that my brothers and my dad do for me, so I'm not surprised about the shares.
" I created a trust for you, but you can access it anytime you want." Dad said, and l smiled, but at the corner of my eye, I did notice Alexa wasn't that happy.
" And what do you do now, Alexa?" I did hear her speaking about a meeting with my brother, so I think she works for the company.
" l'm general manager at the company." she said.
" One of the best if I should say so myself." Dad said, and l smiled because I know Alexa has always wanted my dad's attention, and I'm glad that he's showing her some affection and care.
" So, where am I getting a job." These absolutely nowhere. I am going to go job hunting because I know they won't let me work for any other company.
" You can get a job wherever you want, but Killian, I have to have a conversation before that happens." Dad said.
"Why."
" Because we have to get you bodyguards, it's not safe out there.
