"Y/N GET DOWN FROM THERE NOW!" Nat yelled.
It was night time. You were sitting on the roof of the compound, a particular part of the roof that couldn't be accessed using stairs or a ladder. You had borrowed Nat's grappling hook to get up there. This also meant that she couldn't get up there without it.
"Y/N! Are you even listening to me? I said... Come. Down!"
You were up there sulking after Nat had spent the day tormenting you after a nasty argument the two of you had the night before. This was her revenge, and you'd had enough. You were very easily enraged and she knew what it took to send you over the edge.
(FLASHBACK)
"Your unbelievable" you groaned as you stormed into your bedroom, Nat following close behind as she yells at you once more.
"Me?? I'm unbelievable?? Y/N, YOU'RE the one who watched the last few episodes of Black Mirror without me!!! We were supposed to finish it together!" She whined, her voice rising in volume as she follows you into the bathroom.
"You were on a mission for 3 MONTHS, there was nothing else to do!!" you shouted back as you turned around to face her, now leaning your back against the sink. Oh boy was she angry. "besides, I said I'd go back and watch them with you, so what's the big deal?" You added in a much softer and less aggressive tone.
"The problem, Y/N, is that I told you I wanted to watch them with you so we could experience it TOGETHER and you went behind my back and watched them without me. It's OUR SHOW and you- where are you going...?" She questioned, looking puzzled as you brushed past her, leaving the bathroom and heading back into your room.
"I'm not dealing with you when you're like this" You snapped. "You're being dramatic, it's not that big of a deal, so just get over it!" You darted towards the door, about to leave.
"Fine" Nat barked. "If I'm being too dramatic, then you can sleep on the couch". She smirked, folding her arms and leaning against the bathroom doorframe.
"Fine then!" you clapped back, not thinking straight and still a little hotheaded from the argument. The two of you had fallen out, and you knew you were getting the cold shoulder for a few days. Nat was very stubborn so the only way you were ever going to make up is if you apologised. You stormed out of the room, grabbing a pillow off of the bed on your way out and let out a huge sigh before slamming the door shut.

-back on the roof-
"Y/N ITS COLD AND ITS GONNA RAIN SOON. QUIT ACTING LIKE A CHILD!"
"I DONT CARE! LEAVE ME ALONE!" you shouted as you pulled the sleeves of your hoodie over your hands to keep them warm. It was cold. She knew that, and so did you. But this time you were the stubborn one and you weren't going to give in.
"WHATEVER!!" she called out, finally giving in. "BUT DON'T COME CRYING TO ME WHEN IT STARTS RAINING AND YOU GET WET." She headed back inside and you let out a sigh of relief. You shuffled over to the edge of the roof, sitting down, dangling your legs over the ledge of the roof, swinging them back and forth. You took this moment to think about what happened today...
(FLASHBACK 2)
-the morning after the argument-
You let out a huge groan as you rubbed your eyes and sat up on the couch. You had slept their all night. Usually when you and Nat get into a fight which results in one of you sleeping on the couch, it doesn't take long for one of you to cave and go and lay with the other. When this happened, you would cuddle with each other for the rest of the night without a word, not discussing the details of whatever dispute you had. This time was different. Neither of you caved. This made you kind of sad and you had decided that you were going to try and apologise to her in some sort of way today.
You scooped your phone up off of the coffee table and checked the time. 7:29am. Nat was usually awake at this time and she'd be here any minute now. You leaped up and headed towards the kitchen. With a glass of water in hand you sat up on the kitchen island, awaiting her arrival.
She walked in and immediately made her way over to the fridge. She definitely saw you. You cleared your throat, making yourself known, just in case. Nothing. She just carried on looking for something to eat. She was ignoring you. Great.
Whenever Nat was really mad, she would ignore you. She knew that you loved attention, specifically hers and without any affection you would soon go insane.
You dropped down from the counter, placing down your glass of water on the side and tiptoed over towards Nat, who had her back to you. You inched over and stood directly behind her. Gently sliding your hands under her arms, you wrapped them around her waist, locking your fingers and pulling her into you. You placed a line of soft kisses along her shoulder and up her neck before placing a gentle kiss behind her ear. You rested your head on her shoulder and let out a huge sigh. "Morning" you mumbled. No response. You huffed, stuffing your head into the crook of her neck, knowing it was going to be a long day. She grabbed a yoghurt pot and closed the fridge, walking away and escaping your grasp, completely ignoring you.
It was around lunchtime and you had just finished training with Steve and decided to go and see Nat. Maybe you could get her to acknowledge you. You walk into the library after having showered to see Nat situated on a small sofa, reading a book peacefully. You quietly closed the door and made your way over to her, taking the book from her hands and placing it down beside her on the sofa. You straddled her lap and wrapped your arms around her neck, playing with her baby hairs. She wouldn't look at you. You placed a light kiss on her forehead before moving your hands to cup her face and angling her head to look at you. You popped another little kiss on the tip of her nose and as you did it you could feel the muscles in her cheek try and resist a smile. You giggled, knowing she'd break soon enough and began caressing her cheeks with your thumbs before pressing another delicate kiss in the corner of her lips. As you did that she quickly jumped up, pushing you off her and heading out of the library. You nearly had her.
After dinner you wandered into the lounge to go and play Mario Kart with Peter when you saw Nat and Wanda cuddling on the sofa together, watching the episodes of Black Mirror that you had watched without her. Though you knew Natasha and Wanda were nothing more than friends, this still made you really jealous. After a day of being ignored and not getting any affection, this just about did it for you. Storming out, you headed towards the roof. On your way, you stopped by Natasha's room and picked up her grappling hook off of the dresser and headed out.
(END OF FLASHBACK 2)
-back on the roof-
You'd had enough. You were too cold and you knew about the rain and weren't gonna stay out here long enough to see it come down. You slid down the angled roof, landing on the lower section and walked towards the door to head back inside. It was time to apologise.
You walked up to your bedroom door and opened it softly. Nat was sat there with here back propped up against the headboard whilst she scrolled through her phone.
"Nat?" You mumbled as you looked down at the floor and nervously played with your fingers.
"Have you come to say sorry?" she said in a calm and soothing tone.
"Yeah... I- I'm... I'm really sorry for watching those last few episodes without you. It's- It's just... You'd been gone for so long and I was really starting to miss you. Like more than usual. And when I couldn't sleep, I would watch an episode because they reminded me of you..." You looked up from your feet, still playing with your fingers to see her looking at you with a soft smile on her face.
She turned her phone off and put it on the bedside table before patting the mattress next to her. "c'mere my love." she mumbled.
You smiled excitedly and did a little jump before running over and sliding into bed. You scooted under the covers before wrapping your arms around her torso in a tight embrace. You gently rested your head against hers, so that your cheeks were squished together as she draped an arm over your waist, pulling you in closer. Her other hand played with your hair and tenderly massaged your scalp. She pressed a gentle kiss into your cheek and then a soft one on your forehead before pulling your head to rest in her neck.
"I'm not mad." she chuckled. "Maybe next time just stick the wearing my hoodies when you miss me."
"got it."
