What the hell is that supposed to mean?! Jungkook was sitting on the couch in his room  after the dinner, wearing comfortable sweatpants and T-shirt.
Would like to meet me? ME?! Someone wants to get to know me after my first day in school, I should count it as a success, I guess... But, why him?
He buried his shoulders deep into the soft couch. He had been pacing back and forth in his room earlier, and his legs were hurting.
There's nothing wrong with it. We just moved in. So I'm a new neighbor, we go to the same school, we are probably the same age, he wants to be friends. He rolled over to lie on his belly.
Wasn't I the one trying to start up the conversation at the bus stop? He couldn't help but cringe, thinking back about the embarrassing moment.
He's most likely a weirdo if he wants to friends with me after seeing me looking like a mess, leaving the apartment this morning, coughing my lungs out and then sprinting out of the bus...
He tossed himself onto the bed. He's been having an internal conversation for about an hour now. He ate his dinner earlier, thinking about nothing else but that guy. His mom hasn't tried to encourage him to talk to people anymore, as he made his annoyance with her show as best as he could. His dad was busy with his new job and couldn't care less about his antisocial son making friends or not.
Well, I'm weird too. I can't stop thinking about one boy. There must be something seriously wrong with me.
It was getting late and he needed to wake up early for school tomorrow. He took a quick shower, using his favorite cherry soap and brushed his teeth. When he was already in the comfort of the soft duvet, he grabbed his phone. He wanted to call Yugyeom, he was so confused for some reason and wanted to talk to someone. It was too late though, and his best friend also had school tomorrow.
Jungkook sighed, and was about to set his alarm. The flashbacks of the morning came in.
Hell no. I'm not meeting him again. He set his alarm forty minutes earlier. Kim Whateveryournameis, thanks for causing me sleep deprivation, asshole. He was so tired, that he drifted off to sleep immediately.
The alarm rang painfully early. Jungkook kept waking up through the night, tossing and turning, for which he blamed the new bed and mattress.
His parents were still at home, eating breakfast together.
"You look horrible, son," his dad commented on his appearance dryly.
"I told you to not eat so much ramyeon for dinner, now your face is puffy," mom was judging him from her seat at the table.
"Good morning to you too," he said, his voice raspy. He grabbed some cereal, milk and the largest bowl he could find. He ate his breakfast listening to his parents discussing why he looks so bad. He was too tired to react, so he just finished his enormous bowl of cereal, washed himself and changed into his uniform without saying a word. He replicated the same sloppy knot on his tie as yesterday, threw textbooks into his backpack and left.
He successfully avoided Kim Asshole and was already on the bus to school, ready for another day of everyone ignoring him.
The whole week went on like this. He kept on getting up really early, taking the bus to school, then back home, parents nagging, going to bed, repeat. The next week wasn't any different. Thanks to Jungkook leaving so early each morning, there was no sight of Kim Screwyou. On the other hand, he was feeling sleepy and tired all the time. Some tests came around in school and he hasn't done well either. Truthfully he's failed them all completely.
After failing another test on his third week, his mood was particularly bad. He was sick of everything.
I hate this school, I hate people here, I hate this city, I hate the air, Seoul sucks...He kicked gravel from the sidewalk. He'd decided to walk home, instead of taking the bus, which he was sick of too.
He was passing a stop for the bus line going directly to the city library. It was filled with students waiting for the bus. He couldn't recognize anyone, so he figured they must've been from other schools. He almost tripped, when he suddenly saw a familiar face in the crowd.
His heart skipped a beat as he saw his neighbor, whom he's been trying to avoid for the past two weeks. Kim Whatthehellareyoudoinghere was waiting patiently for the bus to arrive with other students. He wasn't talking to anyone.
Definitely a weirdo. He was watching the boy who's been the reason for his early mornings. The bus came, obscuring the view and when it left, most of the students along with his neighbor were gone.
With his heart strangely beating fast he continued walking home, it was slowly getting dark.
So he's a nerd... Doesn't look like one though... I can't deny it... he's quite handsome... Aish! What am I thinking... Kim Getoutofmymind!
His head started to hurt and his cheeks felt hot. The lack of sleep for the past weeks, all the failures in school and being constantly haunted by the images of one guy made his life in Seoul less than enjoyable. He pulled out his phone.
--So, when will you come?-- He sent a message to Yugyeom.
--It's not even October, do you miss me that much?-- As always Yugyeom replied immediately.
--Kekeke, you wish... All the girls are in love with me here.--
--Alright playboy, I'll come and see you and your girfriends in three weeks.--
Three weeks... I can survive that... But honestly, I should probably study harder. He's been so deep in his thoughts that he hasn't realised that he made to his apartment complex. Maybe I should try and study at the library.
The next day, Jungkook was determined to go to the city library and study hard. So he walked to the bus stop after school, his backpack heavy with all the books. He got on the bus with some other students, few of them were from his school. That one person who was on his mind, luckily wasn't there.
The library was fairly big, with plenty of desks and little corners for studying. Also very quiet, which was a change for Jungkook. His mom would always watch dramas, with TV really loud, every damn day.
He walked along countless bookshelves, looking for a free desk. He found one tucked in a corner, with almost no one sitting nearby. He'd spread out all his books and notes on the desk and dived into the studying.
It was getting late, most of the students were already gone. Since the library was open non stop for students, Jungkook has decided to stay and study as much as he could. He send a message to mom letting her know that he'll come home late. Only when it was getting close to midnight and his eyelids were heavy, his stomach growling, he packed all this stuff and dragged himself home.
Outside, he shivered from the cold gust of wind and decided to take the subway back home, because it was much faster. It was so hard to not fall asleep when he was sitting in the subway, the monotonous noise soothing him. The station where he got off was right near his apartment complex, so it was really convenient.
Oh, I can't wait to stuff my face with all the food at home. I'm seriously gonna eat everything in the fridge. Mom is probably asleep, she won't cook anything for me... Hmm, maybe cup ramyeon. Yeah, six of those, that would be heaven. He was going up the long flight of stair in the subway station, half awake, musing about all the noodles he will eat. He was the only person there at this hour, but right as he was about to take the last step up the stair, he passed someone entering the station.
He got pierced by the eyes of his neighbor, who walked past him and continued down the stairs.
Jungkook jumped. Jeez! Was that a ghost?!
He was too scared to look behind him, so he just walked those few steps towards the entrance into the complex. He was completely out of breath, not knowing whether from the steep stairs or getting scared by the guy who's been on his mind 24/7.
He wanted to meet me, yet now he didn't say anything. Maybe my mom got everything mixed up and he didn't want to meet me after all...Anyway, where was he going this late? A strange guy...
Was he even real?! Maybe I fell asleep there for a second.... He'd reached the door, when suddenly he caught a faint smell. Jungkook has always been sensitive to smell and what he was smelling now, was unmistakingly a cologne. There was no one near the complex at this hour, so the smell definitely belonged to his neighbor.
So, he was real... He inhaled the light masculine smell, which gave him some strange feeling inside. I definitely need to get some sleep... He got into the elevator, where the smell has been lingering too. He caught himself taking in the heady fragrance and closing his eyes. And I definitely need to eat something... I might have some cognitive impairment...
He finished all six of the ramyeon cups, took a steaming hot shower and with wet hair collapsed onto his bed. He closed his eyes, but all he could see was the pair of those dark brooding eyes leering over him. His breath hitched. Damn, I should probably find a girlfriend or something. He turned to his side, set his alarm early as usual and fell asleep.
The next day, during a break, he took a good look at all the girls in his class. Most of them looked cute, beautiful even. He could swear that some of the girls would look at him, when he was not looking. Yet the majority of the students were ignoring him and they wouldn't speak to him, unless they were forced to.
Aren't guys supposed to make the first move? Okay, I got this. He looked over the girls again. Although they were pretty, none of the girls caught Jungkook's attention.
I just...I dont't know... Ugh, I should just forget about it...
And so he spent the rest of the classes talking to no one as usual. After his last class, he threw his heavy backpack over his shoulder and went on to take the bus to the library again.
He found the environment of the library perfect for studying. He has set his mind on improving his grades. No friends to distract me anyway... it's not like someone would call me and ask me to hang out... I have all the time in the world to study... Wow, what a life...His mood was sour, as he spread all the papers on the same spot in the library as yesterday.
The hours went by, and none of what Jungkook has been studying was making sense anymore. He buried his face in his hands and almost started sobbing.
"Studying hard, I see," a voice said.
Jungkook flinched and nearly fell off his chair.
He lifted his head up to look at the person, the voice belonged to. Right next to his desk stood a guy in the same school uniform and smiled widely.
"I hope I didn't scare you."
"N...no." Jungkook was unable to speak.
"Not many people from our school come here, so it's good to see a new face." Again, that charming smile.
"It's just my second time here," Jungkook cleared his throat,"my grades aren't good, so I need to study"
"Well, you are in the right place, I guess." The guy looked at him directly. " Do you study alone?"
"Yeah, I don't know anyone here." Jungkook averted his eyes.
"You don't? I also happen to have pretty low grades, and I come here for the same reason as you. Wouldn't you like to have a study buddy?" The guy bore his eyes into Jungkook's, making him nervous.
"Wh...me? I... m...maybe." Jungkook stuttered.
"Are you ok? It was just a suggestion, it's fine if you don't want to." He looked at him concerned.
"No, yes, I mean no. Ah, I mean I would really like to. It...it would be nice to talk to someone for once."
"Great. I suppose we should introduce ourselves."
"Yeah, I'm Jeon Jungkook, nice to meet you."
"I'm Jimin, Park Jimin."
