I got new neighbors today.
I played with the ring on my finger as I watched them carry boxes into their new house.
I should help them.
I shook my head to myself, I can't carry a heavy box by myself.
One of the guys saw me watching them through my window and waved. He was tall, black hair, tattoos along both of his arms and a bright smile.
I slightly waved back before closing the curtain and moving away from the window.
They're gonna think I'm weird.
There was a knock on the door, I slowly walked over hoping it wasn't the new neighbors. But I was wrong.
"Hi I'm Jake." He showed his bright smile "I noticed you watching us."
I turned red "Sorry I was curious."
"It's alright, I'm Johnnie." The other guy said
I smiled at them.
"I'm Athena." I opened the door wider
"Can I pet your kitty?"
"What?"
"Your cat, can I pet it?"
"Oh, yeah." I said turning around and seeing Arlo watching the two men in front of me.
Jake came inside walking up towards Arlo picking him up and petting him.
"I think he likes me."
I laughed a little.
He was funny.
"Sorry about him, he just-"
I cut Johnnie off "It's alright, Arlo doesn't get to meet many people, and you two seem really nice."
"Do you wanna hang out?"
I turned to see Jake still holding Arlo, but this time much closer to me and smiling.
"Uh."
"Jake don't pressure her, we're still new."
"Oh yeah, sorry."
"It's alright, I guess can I think about it?"
Jake nodded his nodded setting Arlo down and following Johnnie out the door and onto my porch.
"Text me when you figure it out." Jake yelled before they left
I shut my door before frowning.
I didn't get his number.
