After staying at a friend's house for a few days I decided to go back to my own home and to get my life back together. I sighed knowing that all of my flowers are either wilted or dead, but when I pulled into my driveway I noticed that the ones near the porch are still alive and well.
I got out of my car making my way towards the backyard knowing that all of those flowers will be dead. But they weren't just like the ones in the front these seemed to be water and weeded everyday while I was gone.
"What the hell?" I mumbled to me
Maybe someone from my work came over to help me out a little bit, which was fine it seemed like they needed to be watered. I brushed it off then grabbed my bags out of the car before making my way inside the house.
And there I noticed the bouquet but there was more than one. I dropped all my bags on the floor before running next door to Jakes and Johnnie. I knocked on their door aggressively until someone would open it.
"Athena what's wrong?" Johnnie asked opening the door
"Someone was in my house!" I cried
Johnnie's eyes went wide before grabbing my hand pulling me into their house.
"Jake! Get down here!" He yelled up the stairwell "Sit on the couch Athena, it's alright."
"How though? Someone was in my house and left flowers, how did they get into my house?"
"Don't worry I know someone who will explain what they did." Johnnie said sitting next to me grabbing my hand
"You know who went into my house?" I asked hopefully
He nodded his head "After I told him that it was too far."
Jake came down the stairs looking at Johnnie before he notices me sitting on the couch crying in Johnnies arms.
"Did you break into my house?" I asked
He shook his head "No I wouldn't do that."
"Then how did you get in?"
"I found your key under the mat." He admitted
I knew I should've hid that key better then under my mat.
"What were you doing over there Jake?" I asked
He sighed "Look I'm sorry really Athena, it was just after you left for days without saying anything I got worried. I mean I watered your flowers and weeded them everyday knowing that when you come back you'll be happy to see that they're alive. And I bought you flowers to try and make you feel better."
I listened to every word he had to say, and to say the very least Jake was more worried about me then what he was letting on. It was sweet of Jake knowing that he did all of that while he was worried about me.
I stood up and walked over to Jake while he was still rambling on why he did all of those things, but I didn't care about that anymore. I wrapped my arms around Jake.
"Thank you." I whispered before kissing his cheek
