I regret eating those cookies and it wasn't because of the dairy in it, because I took pills for that.
In the bottom of my stomach I have a feeling that Jake doesn't feel the same as I do. I saw the way he keeps looking at Tara like he still loves her like he used to, and to be honest it makes me insecure.
I really do like Jake ever since I first met him and he's been there for me, I mean he even bought me flowers from my own store. What guy would do that besides Jake and he even knew what my favorite flowers were.
After we finished the cookies Jake dropped Tara off at her place before driving us back home.
"Hey Jake?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I stay over? I don't wanna be alone." I admitted
He smiled "Sure."
I thanked him feeling relieved once he pulled into his driveway. I followed him into the house saying hello to Johnnie before walking up the stairs with Jake following him into his room, where I laid down on his bed covering myself with the blankets.
"I'll lay in Johnnie's room." He said pulling the covers closer to me
"No, just stay with me Jake." I pulled the covers away from lifting them up so he could crawl in next to me
He sighed before crawling in next to me our legs tangling together while he wrapped an arm around my waist.
"You can kick me out if you get uncomfortable."
"That won't be necessary."
My head tested in the nook of shoulder as my hand rested on his side, I could feel his warm breath on the side of my head.
"You know Athena, I think you're really pretty."
I hummed smiling "Really. Ever since I first met you."
I kissed his neck "I really like you Jake."
"I really like you too Athena." He kissed the side of my head
"It's about time you admitted it." I teased
"I'll take it back." He said
I slightly shook my head "No you won't."
"Yeah your right."
