I pulled Athena closer to me.
This felt right like it was always supposed to be like this and I don't want things to change between us now.
I don't just want to be her friend or her neighbor, I want to be the person that loves her more than anyone. Someone who can give her a shoulder to cry on.
I wanna kiss her every time I see her without a care in the world.
Because I love her and I was so stupid not to say it sooner.
The sun was starting to shine through the blinds lighting my room up. Athena stirred next to me before opening her eyes smiling at me.
"Wanna get breakfast together?" I asked kissing her cheek
"I would like that." She said "Just let me run home to change quickly."
"Okay I'll pick you up in twenty."
"See you then." Then she left

After breakfast we went to the beach, we sat in the sand while watching other people have fun in the water. I looked over at Athena she watching some of the little kids have fun.
"What?" She asked
I blinked a few times before smiling "Nothing, just wondering why it took me so long to tell you how I feel."
She scooted closer to me before resting her head on my shoulder "Johnnie kept trying to convince me."
"He did the same with me." I admitted
"So we should go and thank Johnnie?"
I laughed before smiling "He doesn't even know that together."
She lifted her head of my shoulder "Oh so you put a label on it now?"
"I thought we were together since we admit that we like each other?"
She shook her "Thats not how it works Jake, you have to ask me."
Then she got up and ran into the water, the waves barley getting her sun dress wet. I got and walked in wrapping my arms around her.
"Athena will you be my girlfriend?"
"It's about time you ask." She said before kissing me
