I finished up the last bouquet order for a customer before deciding to close a little bit earlier.
"How are the new neighbors?" Alex asked while watering flowers
"Very nice. And kinda weird." I said honestly
"Are they cute at least?" She asked cheekily smiling
I laughed slightly "His name is Jake-"
"Is he cute?" She asked again "Just for a friend."
I nodded "Yeah he is."
She laughed "And the other one?"
"His name is Johnnie, he's cute too." I shrugged
"Who caught your eye first?"
"Jake, he's really sweet and funny."
She nodded finishing up with the flowers before starting to wipe down the shelves, while I swept the floors. We had our little conversations mostly about Jake and Johnnie, but I enjoyed talking about them. I even told her about the recent video I was in with them, I watched the video once Jake uploaded and of course once Jake threw the box everyone was able to see who I was.
I was nervous about it because I was new to the video and no one knows me what so ever. I'm just scared on how everyone is going to react to me if I'm in future videos.
We finished what we had to do and went our separate ways.
I pulled into my yard to Jake sitting in his driveway smoking.
"Those are going to kill you." I said walking up to him with a bouquet in my arms
"I'm not worried about it." He smiled looking at the flowers "Those are pretty."
I smiled "Thank you."
I sat down next to him while watching him out of the corner of my eye.
"Arlo got out, just so you know." Jake said putting out his cigarette
My eyes went wide. Arlo always did that with the old neighbors and they even threatened to call animal control if I didn't keep Arlo from escaping.
"I'm sorry, he always does that. I'll make him stop just don't call animal control please." I begged
"Athena, it's fine. I like Arlo he's in the house right now having some quality time with Johnnie."
"You won't call animal control?" I asked
"Fuck no, I wouldn't do that to my friend." He said
I wrapped my arms around his neck thanking him over and over again.
"Wanna come inside and get him?"
I nodded my head before following Jake inside.
"Johnnie! Grab Arlo!" Jake yelled as we went to the living room
"No he doesn't like me." Johnnie said while sitting on the couch staring at Arlo on the opposite end of the couch
I set my bouquet and purse on the coffee table before picking up Arlo.
"Thank you guys it means a lot." I said
Jake shrugged his shoulders "Anything for you babygirl."
My cheeks slightly turned red while I looked at Jake. But I shrugged it off and grabbed my purse leaving the bouquet cause I wanted to give it to Jake and Johnnie in the first place.
"Bye guys and thanks again." I smiled walking out the door
