Nora's POV
I was fuming as l walked down the street. l was angry at myself for having ridiculous feelings. l was supposed to hatethis man and even consider the rejection process, but here l was, worried and scared about it.
"Nora" l heard an unfamiliar voice behind me and turned to see a man staring at me with a smirk. "it's nice to fnallymeet you," he spoke, and before l could say a word, he gripped me by the left arm. in the blink of an eye, l foundmyself in an empty room.
With terrifed eyes, l scanned the room and stared back at the stranger. Before l could say a word, he wrapped achoker around my neck.
"What.. l stammered, trying to take the choker off, but it was clasped around my neck. Without being told, l knew itwas a choker used to prevent me from shifting into my wolf or using my abilities.
My heart raced as fear coursed through my veins. l struggled against the grip on my arm, desperately trying to freemyself from the stranger's hold, but it was useless.
"What... .hat do you want from me?" l managed to stammer, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and confusion.
He smirked and took a step closer, invading my personal space. His presence suffocated me.
"Now, now, Nora," he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "You are a pawn l will use to catch my prey. You see,have plans for him, and you're going to play a crucial role," he said, while l furrowed my brow, confused.
"What are you talking about? Let me go, who are you?" l asked, but a slap landed on my cheek, sending me to thefloor.
"Keep quiet. One more word from you, and l will cut you into pieces and send them to him as a present"

Taking a deep breath, l mustered up the courage to speak again, keeping my voice as steady as possible. "What doyou want with me? And who is this person you're talking about?"
The man's smirk widened, increasing my worries and fear. "Ah, so many questions," he sneered. "you'll fnd out soonenough. For now, you're going to cooperate while l make a call to your mate and tell him l have his little kitten." Hesaid, and my heart ceased in my chest, realizing the man was referring to either Lord Maddison or Alpha Leo.
"Sit on the floor" he ordered, but l refused and received another slap that sent me to the floor, exclaiming in pain.
"You will learn to obey me during your stay here, or else you won't like what l would do to you," he warned and putthe phone on speaker.
With panting breath, l listened to the call ring, and after the second beep, the call was picked up. "Hello," l heard theunmistakable voice of Lord Maddison.
'Lord Maddison," l cried out.
Nora, is that you, Nora?" He spoke in panic, but l couldn't respond because a loud slap had landed on my cheek.'One more word from you, and l will fuck you right here and let him listen to your cries." He threatened, and l knewthey weren't mere threats.
"Who the hell are you? l swear l will kill you with my bare hands." Lord Maddison spoke over the other end of thephone with anger, but l felt a mixture of fear in his voice.
Keep shut, and listen," the man spoke.
"Who the hell are you?" Lord Maddison asked, and the man chuckled before speaking. "it seems you are eager toknow me, so l won't keep it away from you. At least you need to know who will start fucking your mate. He mocked.and Lord Maddison growled over the phone.
"Who the fuck are you? l swear l'm going to wipe you and your entire family if you lay a fnger on her." Lord Maddisonwarned fercely, but the man laughed loudly, like Lord Maddison had just made a silly joke, which sent cold shiversdown my spine.
"Well, l have no family, and the only one l consider family was killed because of you and your carelessness" Thekidnapper yelled at Lord Maddison while l stared at him with dumbfounded eyes.
couldn't believe what l was hearing. The kidnapper's words echoed in my mind, and l couldn't comprehend thesituation fully. Questions swirled in my head, trying to make sense of the man's claims.
Lord Maddison's voice came through the phone, laced with concern and confusion. "What are you talking about? ldon't even know who you are. Why would you involve Nora in whatever this is?"
The kidnapper's laughter flled the room, chilling me to the core. "Oh, Lord Maddison, so naive and oblivious. Youreally have no idea, do you? You'll soon realize the consequences of your actions, the pain you've caused. But fornow, you can listen as l play with your precious little toy."
"Don't you dare touch her!" Lord Maddison yelled, but the kidnapper ended the call on him and turned to face me.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want from me!" l yelled and saw him walk swiftly towards me. He grabbed myhair and yanked my head back, forcing me to look directly at him. "oh, my dear Nora, you're even more entertainingthan l anticipated. Your little outburst only fuels my desire to see you suffer."
Pain shot through my scalp as he tightened his grip, and l winced, trying to free myself from his grasp. l knew l had tochoose my words carefully, to try and reason with him somehow. "please, let me go. l won't tell anyone about this.You don't have to involve Lord Maddison or anyone else. We can settle this differently"
The kidnapper's eves narrowed, his grip on my hair intensifying. "settle this? There's no settling anything. 'veplanned this meticulously, and now i'm executing it. You will serve a purpose, Nora, whether you like it or not"
I felt tears welling up in my eyes, a mixture of fear, frustration, and helplessness.l had to stay strong. "lf you have aproblem with him, then deal with him directly. Let me go. You don't have to involve innocent people in yourvendetta."
The kidnapper's grip loosened slightly, and he tilted his head, considering my words.
Innocent people? Oh, my dear, there are no innocent people in this game. We all have our sins. Lord Maddison willpay for his, just as you will pay for yours."
Confusion swirled within me. l couldn't understand what sins the kidnapper was accusing Lord Maddison ofcommitting, and l couldn't fathom what he thought l was guilty of.
As the kidnapper released my hair, l took a moment to catch my breath.
"You being his second chance mate is a crime," he growled, his teeth tightly clenched. "You think you will enjoy whatis hers after she died trying to give that bastard a child. You two think you can both be happy when she's lying coldlyin the earth," he yelled, causing me to furrow my brow,. l was confused by his words, but one of his statements caughtmy attention.
"Are you, by any chance, referring to Maddison's frst mate?" l asked, and he groaned, grabbing my hair and forcingme to look directly into his eyes.
"She was happy with me, so happy with me, but he came into my life and took her away just because she's his mate.Then he married her and got her pregnant, but on the day of her delivery, when she needed him the most, he wasn'tby her side, and she lost her life," he spat, causing my heart to stop for a moment.
"How could he call himself a healer when he wasn't there to help his supposed mate or unborn child?" the kidnappelasked angrily, and l responded, “lt wasn't his fault, and you know that.."
'Shut up! just fucking shut up!" he yelled, tightening his grip on my hair, causing tears to well up in my eyes.
