As Anna left, she kept looking back at Lionel. 'Why isn't Lionel leaving with us? Why is he staying behind?' Anna wondered.
Anna wanted to call out to him, but Fiona quickly pulled her back and urged, "Hurry up."
Anna was really unwilling to leave like this, but there was nothing she could do about it.
Stella watched them scramble away, a mocking smile playing on her lips.
Jordan came over to Stella and pulled her into his arms. Many people snapped photos of the sweet moment.
Right as they were about to get in the car, Lionel suddenly stepped in front of Stella.
Jordan's eyes narrowed dangerously, and he sneered, "Dr. Quinn, you'd better stay out of our way."
Lionel's expression turned gloomy as he looked at Stella. Stella didn't even spare him a glance and was about to leave with Jordan.
"Wait, Stella?" Lionel called out, trying to stop her.
But Stella acted as if she hadn't heard him at all. When Jordan opened the car door for her, she just got in without looking back.
Lionel hurried over to her side. "Stella, I need to talk to you."
Jordan immediately shoved him aside. "Can't you see? She doesn't want to talk to you."
"Stella, I'm here to apologize. I know everything I did before hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you. Hurting you is like hurting myself.
"These past few days have been miserable for me. I've been blaming myself, wondering if I could do it all over again, would I still make the same choices?" Lionel said, his voice full of regret.
"Drive," Stella said to the driver up front. She didn't even look at Lionel as she spoke.
The driver glanced at Jordan. Seeing Stella had already scooted over, Jordan just got in the car as well.
Lionel had already tossed aside all his former pride and dignity. He held out the emerald bracelet he'd just won at the auction, offering it to her.
"Stella, I noticed you really liked this emerald bracelet, so I got it for you. I know this alone isn't enough for you to forgive me, but I'll keep trying," he said.
Suddenly, the car stopped. Lionel was overjoyed. "Stella?"
The window rolled down, and Lionel peered inside, searching for Stella.
But Stella didn't even look at him. She just replied calmly, "Lionel, I can forgive you, but there's something I need from you first.
"If you go back right now and publicly announce that you're ending your marriage with Anna, I'll accept your bracelet. How about that?"
A shadow crossed Lionel's face, his expression darkening.
"Drive." Stella's voice was crisp and decisive.
Lionel quickly said, "Stella, whatever you say, I'll do it. I'll go back right now and tell her."
Stella simply signaled the driver to drive off.
As the car pulled away, Lionel shouted after her, "Stella, I swear I'll make things right."
In the car, Jordan glanced at Stella. She hadn't said a word, but it looked like none of this bothered her at all.
'It's like whatever Lionel does has nothing to do with her. Maybe she just wants revenge on her family,' he wondered and felt relieved.
Before it was even time for bed, news broke online. Lionel and Anna, who had never set a wedding date before, had finally made it official. Their wedding was scheduled for just one month from now.
It was also reported that Lionel had given Anna the pair of emerald bracelets he won at the auction earlier that day, and the two of them seemed closer than ever.
Stella saw the news, and so did Jordan. Jordan couldn't help but look at Stella, but she still didn't show any reaction.
He was a bit surprised. "You really don't care at all?"
"Yes, and honestly, I knew Lionel would pull something like this. See? I'm just helping the two of them out, tying them together for good. I actually think it's great," Stella replied.
Jordan kept watching her. She really didn't seem to care at all.
