Stella said to the Hayes family, "I don't want to reconcile with you. I came here to tell you that if you can kick me out of the Hayes family, then I can kick you out, too.
"If you don't believe me, go ask Grandma who is the real member of the Hayes family. You or me?
"After everything that has happened, you still think I'll make peace with you? Dream on."
All this was giving Lionel a massive headache. He glanced at Stella, hoping she could say something that could smooth things over.
Stella suddenly remembered something and said, "By the way, there's one more reason I came. I wanted to see if Max was dead. Too bad he is still breathing.
"People like you, who are rotten to the core, will get what is coming to you sooner or later."
Andrew turned to Lionel and said, "See? This is what she's like. She can't even act like a decent human being. Why did you bring her here? We've cut all ties with her."
"Mr. Hayes, please don't. If Stella wasn't here, who else could pay for Max's hospital bills?" Lionel said.
Hearing this, Andrew immediately deflated himself.
Bailing themselves out of prison had pretty much drained all their savings.
Max's condition was so serious that without enough money, he probably wouldn't survive.
They wouldn't just stand there and watch Max die. After all, Max was the last hope of the Hayes family.
Stella let out a cold laugh. "So, now you need something from me. Fine. I'd love to see how desperate you can beg me."
Fiona immediately put on her best "good mom" face and walked over to Stella. Fiona said, "Come on. We're family. You wouldn't stand by and watch Max die in the hospital, would you?"
Stella said, "Why not? If it were any one of you, or all four of you, lying in that hospital bed, I wouldn't bat an eye watching you die.
"And who says we're family? Fiona, I don't need to remind you who was so eager to kick me out of the family in the first place, right?"
Fiona's face turned ashen.
"Well, you're not flat broke. Didn't you sell off your stuff? Just keep selling everything off," Stella sneered.
Fiona said bitterly, "If we sell everything, we'll have nothing left."
"Didn't you tell me I only have one brother? Isn't Max the only heir to the Hayes family? Or are you saying all that junk is worth more than his life?" Stella shot back.
Andrew snapped at Fiona, "Why are you even talking to her? She's just someone who bites the hand that feeds her."
Stella shot back, "Really? Someone who bites the hand that feeds them? That would mean you actually raised me, wouldn't it?
"But as I can remember, you never really did anything for me, did you? The only one in the Hayes family who ever truly cared for me was Grandma. Who do you people think you are?"
Anna stared at her in disbelief. She said, "Stella, how could you turn out like this? Max is your brother.
"Now you're the CEO and chairwoman of Hayes Group. If we go around telling people you don't even care whether your brother lives or dies, what do you think everyone will think of you?"
"Are you trying to threaten me now?" Stella squinted.
Anna immediately begged, "Stella, I'm begging you. I didn't really mean what I said. I was just too angry. I've tried to see things from your side. I know you've had it rough.
"But we're still family. Family ties can't be broken. Are you really okay with watching our family fall apart and get worse day by day?"
