Stella thought, 'That wasn't enough for Fiona. I want her to suffer more.'
When Stella got home, Jordan was waiting for her. He was busy with something in the kitchen.
Stella took off her shoes and was about to have a look at it, but Mary stopped her.
Mary said with a smile, "Ms. Hayes, just go and get changed."
"Huh? Why?" asked Stella in confusion.
Mary smiled, "You'll find out later."
"So mysterious?" Stella said.
Mary kept pushing her. Stella had to do what she was told.
While Stella changed her clothes and came out, Mary was nowhere to be seen. She wondered where Mary had gone.
Stella slowly made her way toward the kitchen. "Jordan, can I come in?" she asked.
"Come to the dining room," answered Jordan.
"Okay," said Stella.
Stella headed to the dining room.
But when she got there and saw the table full of dishes, Stella was almost crying.
Stella covered her mouth with her hands and muttered in disbelief, "Jordan, you did it yourself?"
Jordan stood aside and motioned to her to sit down. "Come on, take a seat."
Stella slowly walked up to him. Jordan pulled out a chair for her, and after she sat down, he helped her set the table before taking his seat opposite her.
Today's menu was different from usual. They often ate noodles and stews. But today it's all Western food. There were steaks, no fried dishes, but some other dishes that looked really good.
"I checked with the doctor, and he said it's okay for you to have some Western food. I know fried dishes aren't good for you, so I skipped that. I was worried you'd get bored eating the same food every day. So I got home early today and cooked something special for you. I'm not a good cook, but I hope you like it," Jordan said, a little nervous.
"It all looks amazing," Stella replied.
Stella would never get bored eating the same food. After all, the fact that she was able to live now was more than she dreamed of.
She had to have dinner at set times every day. No matter what she was doing, she always had to stop and have her meal.
This way, her body could recover as soon as possible.
Seeing everything Jordan prepared for her, Stella was touched.
"You know? It's been so long since anyone did something like this for me," Stella said, her eyes welling up with tears.
Jordan hurried over and gently wiped away tears for her.
"Don't cry. I didn't do this to make you cry," he said softly.
"I know, but I can't help it. I'm not crying because I'm sad. I felt so touched. Jordan, how could you be so nice to me?" Stella said as she grabbed his hand, with her eyes fixed on his face.
Jordan looked back at her and said, "Don't look at me like that. I'll want to kiss you."
Without a second thought, Stella leaned in and kissed him.
Jordan's eyes flew wide open in surprise, while Stella kissed him, with her eyes closed.
Jordan thought, 'It's just a kiss. Besides, we'd already kissed this morning. Greedy, I know. But I just want more kisses.'
He held her close and kissed her deeply.
Jordan had no idea how long they had been kissing. But when he was aware of that, he tore himself from her immediately.
"Stella, eat now. Your stomach can't be empty too long," Jordan said gently.
Stella nodded. She was unaware that the glance she cast at Jordan held a warmth she'd never shown before.
