'Stella's in real danger now,' Kevin thought anxiously. He remembered he had Monroe's number and immediately called him.
Cavan was worried too. Someone had gone missing right on his turf, and if anything happened to Stella, he'd feel so sorry for Kevin. Just as he was about to call the police, Kevin's call to Monroe went through.
"Monroe, where did you take Stella? Listen up, if you dare to hurt her, you'll have both the Carver family and Jordan coming after you," Kevin said, his voice low and threatening.
"Kevin, can you not just accuse me without knowing the facts? I didn't do anything to Stella. I was the one who saved her," Monroe replied.
"Saved her? Do you think I'm buying that? You and Anna hate Stella. Everyone knows what you two want with Stella. Just tell me where you are, right now."
"Seriously, Kevin, if I'd done something to Stella, do you think I'd even bother picking up your call?"
"Cut the crap. Just tell me where you are."
"Densglobe Hospital."
"If you're not there, you'd better watch your back," Kevin warned. With that, he hung up.
Cavan said, "I'm coming with you."
Kevin nodded. When they arrived at the Densglobe Hospital and spotted Monroe, Kevin raised his fist, ready to punch him.
But Monroe was quick—he caught Kevin's arm before the punch could land. "Kevin, are you crazy? Don't you even want to hear what happened before you start swinging?"
"Yeah, I don't care. Don't think I don't know how many times you hurt Stella. I don't think you would suddenly begin to care about her."
Just as Monroe was about to speak, the doctor came over and said, "Alright, we've finally cleared the drugs from her system. Wait, who are you?" 'And they're both men, too,' the doctor couldn't help but think. 'This girl must have some serious charm.'
Kevin shot Monroe a fierce glare and then walked straight to the ward. When he saw Stella lying there with her eyes still closed, he immediately turned to the doctor. "What happened to her? Why is she unconscious?"
"When this man brought her in, she'd been drugged. He told me she's weak and only has one kidney, so I did my best to avoid harming any of her internal organs. Looks like she's out of danger now," the doctor explained.
Kevin spun around and grabbed Monroe by the collar. "Drugged? Why the hell was she drugged? What did you do to her?"
Monroe let out a frustrated sigh. "What the hell could I possibly have done? She was already drugged when I found her. Maybe you should be asking yourself that question instead."
Cavan thought it over and said, "The food should be safe—I picked every dish in person."
Kevin still gripped Monroe's collar, his voice sharp. "Spit it out."
Monroe had never been so wronged. "Give me a break. If I drugged her, why would I bring her here instead of just taking advantage of her?"
The doctor chimed in, "Yeah, I told him this was the best thing to do, but he said he wasn't her boyfriend. Honestly, he didn't seem like a bad guy to me."
"Like a bad guy would have 'bad guy' written on his face," Kevin scoffed, making it clear he wasn't buying Monroe's story for a second.
Just then, Stella groggily opened her eyes, still half out of it. Everything was a blur of blinding white, and the strong smell of disinfectant filled her nose. She turned her head and saw a few familiar faces watching her with concern.
