Stella looked at the ring in disbelief. "How did you get something like this?"
"Is it too cheesy?" Jordan asked with a chuckle.
Stella laughed. "It is kind of cheesy, but it really is a nice surprise."
Stella had been so focused on the cake because, unlike other women, she probably didn't think she would be so captivated by it.
It had been too long since she had enjoyed a cake, and every time she passed a bakery, she felt a strong craving.
She couldn't eat sweets, especially high-sugar items like cake. If she did, it would upset her digestion, and all her previous efforts would be for nothing.
Stella was genuinely afraid of returning to her old state; when she got home, she didn't even dare look in the mirror.
Recently, she had occasionally looked in the mirror. She had even bought herself some new clothes. But she hadn't expected that Jordan would think of these things for her.
Even though she'd seen this kind of scene many times in TV shows and novels, experiencing it herself felt entirely different. Stella gazed at the large diamond ring, absolutely loving it.
Jordan took the ring from her hand and carefully wiped it to ensure there was no cake left on it. Then he said, "Extend your hand."
Stella held out her hand. It looked much better than before; the skin was gradually recovering.
Jordan slipped the large diamond ring onto her finger. "Stella, we've been married without a proper ring. We might skip other ceremonies, but this one is a must.
"And it's not like I can't afford it. I've been thinking about when I could finally give this to you. I want you to have what other women have."
Stella told herself not to cry, not wanting to worry Jordan. She stared at the big diamond ring, feeling how substantial it was. "It's a little heavy, but it's really pretty."
Stella genuinely loved the ring; it symbolized that she was truly married to Jordan, making their previous agreement irrelevant.
Jordan had already prepared another ring. "I thought about this ahead of time.
"You can leave this diamond ring off when you're just hanging out, but as a married woman, you need to wear your wedding band when you go out. I got us matching rings; we both have to wear them."
He pulled out two rings and placed them in front of her.
Stella always knew Jordan was attentive, but she didn't expect he'd think of all these details. She couldn't help but laugh. "Why did you have to buy me this?"
Jordan replied, "Because I want everyone to know you're married, and your title is Mrs. Erwin."
Stella nodded. "Okay, put it on me." She extended her hand once more.
Jordan took off the diamond ring and placed the wedding band on her finger. It felt much lighter and comfortable. Jordan really was impressive—he knew her ring size perfectly.
Stella then helped Jordan put on his ring.
Mary watched the two of them with a smile.
Jordan continued, "Oh, by the way, I might have to go on a business trip tomorrow for a while.
"I originally planned to take you with me, but your supermarket is about to open, and there's still a lot of work to do. So I won't take you this time. But don't worry; I'll be back as soon as your supermarket opens."
