Stella replied, letting him know she was seriously enjoying her breakfast and that she felt perfectly fine after the sweets she had had the night before.
Mary watched nearby, always wearing a smile.
After breakfast, Stella headed to work. Just as she reached the entrance of the company, she saw Anna sprawled out in front of her. A bunch of reporters were right behind her, and microphones extended toward Stella.
"Stella, why did you run into your sister? What kind of grudge do you have against her?"
"Stella, your sister was knocked down—aren't you going to help her up? You're so cruel."
"Stella, there are rumors that you've harmed your sister multiple times. Is there any truth to that?"
"Stella..."
Stella stood her ground as security removed the reporters. Anna remained sprawled on the stairs, showing no intention of getting up.
Stella hadn't expected this. She was planning to confront Anna about the business trip incident later, but now Anna had presented herself on a silver platter. Stella wasn't about to miss this opportunity.
"My dear sister, you're such a great actress. You've been like this since we were kids. You arranged for kidnappers to take me far away, so everyone at home wouldn't suspect you," Stella said.
Anna's eyes flickered. "Stella, what are you talking about? I was just walking here when you knocked me over. I haven't blamed you, but you can't accuse me unjustly."
"Unjustly? Did I falsely accuse you of Grandma's death, and Emily's too?" Stella retorted.
Anna shook her head furiously. "I didn't do anything. I'm more heartbroken than anyone about their accidents.
"Stella, I came here today to see you because I've been feeling awful. We're the closest sisters in the world. Why have we come to this?
"No matter what's happened before, I hope we can reconcile."
Stella suddenly grabbed Anna's hair tightly, glaring at her. "Reconcile? Are you dreaming?
"Well, maybe we can reconcile, under one condition: you must be kidnapped by thugs, have one of your kidneys taken without anesthesia, then escape and be sent to Dusty Pines for three years.
"When you come back, face repeated betrayals from family who need your blood for someone else, nearly die several times, and then I'll forgive you. How does that sound?"
Anna looked at Stella in disbelief. "Stella, how can you be so cruel? None of that was my doing."
"Was it not?" Stella glared at her.
Stella continued, "Let me ask you: how did you know my schedule for the business trip? And why did you drug me to let someone take advantage of me?
"Anna, do you really think I don't know anything? Just because I didn't confront you doesn't mean it's over."
"Look, I really—" Before she could finish her sentence, Stella slapped her hard across the face.
"Stop talking. Just hearing your voice makes me sick. I know why you brought those reporters here today. You want to create some trouble for me and take over the Hayes Group, right? Dream on.
"The Hayes Group is already mine. Neither you nor Andrew can take it away from me." Stella kept her gaze fixed on Anna.
There was a flicker of fear in Anna's eyes, but since she hadn't suffered any real consequences, she didn't feel genuinely afraid.
Stella said, "I'm giving you a chance. If you manage to avoid this, I'll let the last incident go. But if you can't dodge it, then it's your life on the line."
Anna suddenly realized that the situation was getting serious. "What do you want to do?"
