She had to hang in there. She was sure that once Jordan found out she was in trouble, he'd come for her. So she just kept waiting.
When Stella was dragged into the bathroom, her body jolted with fear. "Wh-What are you going to do?" she demanded, her voice trembling.
Short grinned smugly. "So you're not as fearless as you pretend to be, huh? Looks like you do have something to be scared of."
She motioned to her crew, and a couple of them pinned Stella down. Stella's body reacted on its own, struggling desperately against them.
The prison bathroom was nothing like the ones on the outside. Even though some inmates got punished by being forced to clean it, there were always some nasty people who went out of their way to smear shit everywhere, making it absolutely disgusting.
Right now, the place hadn't been cleaned up yet, and Short was dead set on making Stella suffer through every bit of that nastiness.
Stella could grit her teeth through all kinds of torture, but this was just too revolting. It made her feel like she wasn't even human anymore, like all her dignity had been stripped away.
Stella thought desperately, 'No, I can't do this!' She wanted to fight back, but she was completely drained. She couldn't possibly stand up to them at all.
They held her down, laughing mercilessly at her. "Aren't you always acting all tough? Well, people like us know exactly how to break someone like you. Let's show you what happens when you mess with us!"
They grabbed Stella by the head and shoved her face right toward the disgusting mess.
Just when Stella was about to give up hope, someone suddenly shouted, "Stella Hayes, someone's here to get you out!"
Everyone looked at each other in confusion and wondered, 'Stella Hayes? Who's that?'
The guard saw that Stella was about to be shoved into the toilet and instantly knew those women were behind it. He hurried over and yanked Stella away from them.
He said, "Just you wait. She's about to be released, and when that happens, every single one of you will be doomed."
He hurriedly scooped Stella into his arms. Her body was a mess, battered and covered in wounds from head to toe.
Honestly, it was nothing short of a miracle. This was death row—no one ever got out of here.
When Stella was first brought in, nobody really knew what she'd done. They'd just been told to keep her here until the case came through.
This kind of thing was all too common. After all, there were dark corners in this world where things like this just happened.
The person who came for Stella was definitely not ordinary. As the guard carried Stella out, he couldn't shake the feeling that his days as a prison guard were numbered.
Long and Short were both in total shock. This was the first time they'd ever seen something like this. They thought, 'She actually got rescued? Just like that?
'Then, what about us? Sure, we always knew we'd die here sooner or later, but this fast? No way. This has to be a joke, right?'
The moment Stella was carried out, Jordan and Kevin felt like they were seeing the same Stella who had just been rescued after being kidnapped—broken, battered, and lost.
They hadn't witnessed that nightmare back then, but now, seeing her like this with their own eyes, they could vividly imagine just how horrific it must have been.
Kevin felt heartbroken. In just twenty-four hours, Stella had been reduced to this—so changed, so hurt, it was almost unbearable to look at her.
Jordan carried Stella into his arms, and the moment he held her, he could feel just how weak she was. Even her hair, which had only just started to grow back, was now chopped up and messy.
There were spots where her scalp showed through, the hair hacked off unevenly. The bleeding had stopped, but the fresh cuts and jagged lines were impossible to miss.
Jordan looked her over as best he could. Even without seeing everything, he could tell that Stella had suffered every kind of torment in that place.
Jordan thought, 'How dare they hurt my precious Stella like this!' He wanted nothing more than to kill every last one of them with his own hands.
