Lionel's eyes flickered. He said, "No news for now."
Eleanor fixed him with a piercing stare.
Lionel quickly added, "But we'll try our best. I promise we'll find a way to help Stella."
Eleanor remained silent. The air was thick with unease because of the heavy silence.
Feeling uncomfortable, Lionel politely made his excuses to leave the room.
Mary looked at Eleanor and said, "Mr. Lionel Quinn seems to be holding something back."
Eleanor replied, "Don't bother with him. We can't rely on anyone else. I only hope he won't harm Stella again."
Mary nodded.
Eleanor ordered, "By the way, check with our contacts and see if we get updates."
"Yes," Mary replied.
Eleanor clasped Stella's hand tightly and said, "Stella, no matter what it takes, I will save you."
Without Henry's help, the Carver family quickly mobilized forces to attack the Hayes Group once again.
To make matters worse, Henry also filed a lawsuit demanding repayment. The Hayes Group was now teetering on the brink of collapse.
Andrew, Fiona, Max, and Anna gathered in the living room for an urgent discussion.
After a long discussion with no solution in sight, Max snapped, "What's the big deal about drawing some blood? It's perfectly normal.
"In fact, taking some blood from her would do her good. It can drain out all that filthy old blood and let her body make new blood. Wouldn't that be perfect?
"Look at the mess she has dragged the Hayes family into. If she ever wakes up, I bet she would be thrilled to see this."
Suddenly, Anna dropped to her knees before them.
Everyone froze in shock. Fiona instinctively and quickly reached out to help Anna up, but Anna refused her touch.
Anna said, "Dad, Mom, please arrange another marriage for me. Since the Quinn family doesn't help us in this situation, I can't just sit back and watch our family decline. I can get married to solve our family's problems."
Max quickly moved to assist Fiona to help Anna up.
Anna insisted and said, "No, I won't stand up unless you agree. You've always given me the best of everything throughout my entire life. Now it's my turn to do something for you to help our family through this."
Max said angrily, "Anna, you don't need to do this. The Quinn family refused to help because they've been struggling for the past few years. We don't blame Lionel for that.
"As for your remarriage, that's absolutely forbidden. I'd rather be at the mercy of those wealthy women than ever let you marry some disgusting old man you don't even like."
Anna stammered, "But... But if so, what will become of our family?"
Everyone fell silent.
Max's fists clenched tightly.
Truth be told, several wealthy women had taken a liking to Max. They had made it clear that if Max agreed to entertain them, they would invest in the Hayes Group.
Max had always scorned such methods, but he couldn't stand going to stand by and watch the Hayes Group go under.
Max hesitated, "Maybe we could—"
Before he could finish, Fiona suddenly came up with a solution.
She suggested, "Andrew, what about this? We've been searching for that rare blood type for Stella. Why not make it public? We can tell everyone how tough her life has been. She finally was with Henry, only to be exploited like this, and now Henry is in jail.
"Then we'll openly accuse the Carver family. We've always kept these things private, but if we just swallow our pride and play the sympathy card, wouldn't that solve all our problems?"
Anna quickly objected. "No, Mom. This will ruin Stella's reputation. How could she ever have a good marriage after this?"
Fiona said, "She never had much of a reputation to begin with, so why fuss over it? Besides, isn't her life more important than her reputation?
"If we go public, maybe we'll find someone with the right blood type to save her, and our family could ride this wave of public sympathy too."
Max looked at Andrew with sudden hope in his eyes.
Andrew weighed the proposal carefully.
Anna said, "Mom, if Grandma finds out, she definitely won't agree."
Fiona urged and said, "Andrew, we're counting on you now. You have to convince Mom. Stella's life is what truly matters."
Andrew instantly made his decision. "Alright. I'll go talk to Mom now."
