The press conference went viral instantly, with netizens flooding comments to help track down someone with the rare Rh-null blood type.
Some couldn't help but comment: [Fiona and Andrew are quite the parents. Their daughter still acts wildly after suffering. That's what real parents are like. No matter what their daughter does wrong, they'll move heaven and earth to save her.]
Countless netizens condemned the Carver family and the other families who ganged up on the Hayes family.
As a result, the stock prices of those families plummeted immediately. They didn't dare target the Hayes family anymore and were even forced to publicly apologize.
Everyone was eager to help the Hayes family weather this crisis. Thanks to the overwhelming support from netizens, the Hayes family's fortunes improved dramatically. Not only did their company bounce back, but it also began thriving like never before.
The four members of the Hayes family sat together on the living room sofa, watching the news coverage unfold on TV, with smug smiles creeping across each of their faces.
"Mom, this strategy is brilliant," Max praised.
Anna linked arms with Fiona and said, "Mom, you're so amazing."
Andrew was thoroughly pleased as well.
Suddenly, the door burst open, and all four of them were startled.
They turned toward the doorway, only to see Eleanor storming in angrily.
"Mom," Andrew called, and all of the family members shot to their feet.
Fiona quickly asked, "Mom, what brings you back? Shouldn't you be in the hospital?"
Eleanor snapped, "In the hospital? How could I stay there after what you four have done? Scheming against Stella like this? If she wakes up and knows it, she'll be so furious. It'll kill her. Do you want her to die?"
After Eleanor finished speaking, she let out a fit of harsh coughing.
Andrew hurried over. "Mom, we really had no other choice. But look. The company is bouncing back."
"Get away from me." Eleanor shoved Andrew aside forcefully.
She said, "The company is doing better now, but do you even realize what the Carver family is like? They never forget a slight. You've completely crossed them this time.
"Even if they don't openly retaliate against our company, what about Max and Stella, especially Stella? There's no telling what Troy might do. Did any of you think about the consequences?"
Andrew explained, "We accounted for that. We'll assign bodyguards to them. Nothing will happen on our watch. If they dare to make a move, I'll expose them publicly."
Eleanor could barely stop herself from calling Andrew hopelessly naive in her heart. She ordered, "Take those news stories down, every single one of them."
"Mom, it's too late," Andrew replied.
Eleanor nearly collapsed several times, but Mary's words echoed in her mind. Eleanor thought, 'Mary is right. If anything happens to me, there'll be no one left to stand up for Stella. I can't collapse, absolutely not.'
She ordered, "Someone, fetch me the whip."
She was dead set on giving Andrew a thrashing he wouldn't soon forget now.
The servants didn't dare disobey, but Fiona rushed forward to block Eleanor's path.
Fiona said, "Mom, don't hit him. It was my idea. If you must punish someone, punish me instead."
"I won't hit you. You're my daughter-in-law. If I hit you, people would talk behind my back. But Andrew is my son. No one can stop a mother from disciplining her child," Eleanor declared.
The whip was brought. Eleanor, truly enraged, gave Andrew lash after lash.
From childhood, no matter what trouble Andrew caused, Eleanor had never hit him so mercilessly. However, because of Stella's matter, Eleanor whipped Andrew relentlessly.
Eleanor's phone suddenly rang. Hearing this, Fiona hastily interjected, "Mom, your phone is ringing. Could it be something important?"
However, Eleanor wouldn't listen at all.
Anna rushed forward and threw her arms around Andrew to protect him.
Anna said, "Grandma, don't hit Dad. Hit me instead."
"Get away from here," Eleanor snapped.
"No, I won't. You can't hit Dad," Anna cried.
Eleanor snarled, "Fine. Then you'll take the beating too."
