After that, Eleanor lashed out with the whip, showing absolutely no mercy.
Andrew and Max could no longer stand by. One shielded Anna while the other lunged to wrest the whip from Eleanor's grasp.
Eleanor snapped, "Max, don't you dare."
Eleanor somehow had great strength. She clung to the whip tightly.
Max didn't back down either. "Grandma, Anna is weak. Don't hit her."
"Back off," Eleanor barked.
But Max stood his ground.
Eleanor warned sternly, "Mark my words. If you don't get out of my way right now, I'll hit you, too."
Eleanor pulled back the whip with all her might, but Max pulled just as hard. As a result, Max's youthful strength left Eleanor completely outmatched.
Just as Eleanor was about to be pulled off balance and risk falling, Fiona cried out, "Mom, the hospital just called. They found Rh-null blood type donors. They're on their way to the hospital. We need to go now."
Eleanor instantly dropped the whip, and the entire family rushed to the hospital.
Upon their arrival, they found that the two Rh-null blood type donors had already given blood.
Eleanor clung tightly to both of their hands, refusing to let go. Tears welled in her eyes as she gazed at them with profound gratitude.
Fiona promised by saying, "We've settled on your compensation, and we'll announce it publicly at tomorrow's press conference."
Eleanor couldn't say anything more.
The rest of the Hayes family had gone public with that matter behind Eleanor's back. Now that the promise had been made, they were determined to fulfill it before the press, proving to everyone that the Hayes family always kept its word.
Stella woke up. She opened her eyes to a blur of blinding white. For a moment, she couldn't remember what had happened.
She had a long, vivid dream where her family lived in perfect harmony. In her dream, Fiona and Andrew loved her dearly, and so did Max and Anna. For once, everything felt perfect.
Later, they vanished all at once. Stella was seized with terror and desperation. She searched frantically, but her family was nowhere to be found. With that, she woke up.
"Stella," Eleanor said.
Hearing this warm, familiar voice, Stella looked up to see Eleanor's face beaming with joy.
Eleanor exclaimed, "Stella, you're awake."
Stella looked at Eleanor, and then her gaze swept over Fiona and the rest of the family.
Only Eleanor's face showed real concern. Everyone else wore fake expressions, as if they wished Stella could die.
"Grandma," Stella murmured.
Tears instantly welled up in Eleanor's eyes. She said, "Stella, thank goodness you're finally awake. I thought I was going to lose you."
Eleanor wiped away her tears, and Stella gently reached out to help her.
Stella said, "No, Grandma. I'm too stubborn to die that easily."
"That's right. My Stella won't die," Eleanor affirmed.
Fiona turned to Eleanor and said, "Mom, you're still not fully recovered. Why don't you go get some rest? I'll stay here tonight to look after Stella."
Only then did Stella remember what had happened earlier. She turned to Eleanor and asked, "Grandma, how are you feeling now?"
Eleanor said, "I'm much better now. Don't worry. I'll probably be discharged before you are, so focus on getting your strength back."
Stella could tell Eleanor was telling the truth, and she finally felt relieved.
Before leaving, Eleanor said, "Stella, if you don't want your mom to stay with you tonight, just say it, okay?"
"Grandma, you should go rest now," Stella said.
Eleanor nodded understandingly.
"I'll go take care of Grandma," Anna said. She followed Eleanor out.
Max also followed them out.
Andrew then came up behind Fiona and placed both hands on her shoulders with a fatherly smile.
He said, "Stella, let your mom stay with you tonight. If you need anything, just tell her. We'll make sure you get whatever you want."
Stella gave a slight nod.
Andrew patted Fiona on the shoulder and said, "I'll head back now. If you need anything, just give me a call. Take good care of our daughter, alright?"
