                    ADONIS.
By the time it was noon, I was at Jade’s hotel suite, standing at the entrance and staring stiffly at the people milling around inside her place. I could see a few men, like five or so but they were predominantly women. Fucking women in dresses several sizes too small, too tight, and very suggestive. With heels, of course.
Jade and Cole fucking tricked me into coming here.
I felt heat starting to rise slowly from the depths of my mind. I was pissed as fuck. What the actual fuck?
“What the fuck is this, Jade?” I asked, feet firmly rooted to the spot, standing imposingly like a harsh, deadly boulder in the doorway, dwarfing Jade who stood right next to me. Cole had already slithered in to join the ladies, that sneaky cunning motherfucker.
Jade looked up at me, a wide grin stretching her lips. Her green eyes were twinkling with fucking triumph. “This is the little lunch hangout, Adonis. What were you expecting?”
I glared darkly down at her, my fists clenched and a laugh bubbled past her lips. She was so fucking sly. To think of it, she never really said it was just going to be with Cole and me. But she obviously did it on fucking purpose. Nice.
Real nice.
“Alright, alright.” She sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder. Or at least tried to. “I did not tell you it’s kind of like a party because I knew you would not show up. And I really wanted you to come. Everybody on the team, in fact. But Tim has social anxiety and would rather drown in his computers than turn up with me and Spence, that depressed motherfucking workaholic won’t even get up from his work desk even to take a shower!” She gave me a look that kind of seemed genuine. “Cole helped me put this together, and I hoped you would turn up with me too.”
I clenched my jaw and focused my dark gaze into the space in front of me, trying to hold in a curse. I really wasn’t in a mood to party. Fuck, my life has been filled with so much partying recently that I just crave a quiet space and lots of hot sex.
Filthy hot sex.
Lots of it.
“Why are you celebrating?” I finally unclamped my jaw and asked, my voice gruff.
Her grin returned and she snaked her arm around my larger one, gently tugging me inside. “I got a huge contract with this company, and I’m super excited about it. I felt like celebrating. I will begin the contract once we’re done with this current one. I have not announced it yet, but you’re a special guest boss, so you get to hear the news first.”
“Congratulations then,” I said, looking down to meet her eyes. She smiled at me in response.
Jade led me to a set of monochrome couches around a matching oval-shaped table, where Cole was already reclining in, with one of the women curled on the arm of the couch beside him, a sparkling drink in her perfectly manicured fingers.
I sank into the one opposite Cole that also gave me a great view of the entire living area of the suite. Jade smirked down at us, very soft music playing in the background. She was in some short pants that ended right below her ass and a flowy designer shirt that rippled around her body like seductive silk and showed the outlines of her braless breasts.
Her dark hair was let down to form waves down her face, making her face look prettier than I was used to.
“Hm. You look surprisingly good, Jade.” Cole said, his hand on the ass of the woman beside him. Seeing that disgusted me and made me itch to feel the soft flesh of a woman’s ass between my fingers at the same time.
“You’re lucky I’m in a good mood today, Cole.” She said in a husky tone, giving him a haughty look.
“Everyone in here looks good. Damn!” He continued, locking eyes with the woman beside him. Her red lips smirked. “When I first walked in here to see all these breasts and asses that are designed to make a man sin, I first thought it was a sex party orgy, not a lunch hangout.”
I leaned forward to grab a bottle and pour myself a drink.
Jade laughed. “Trust me, if I wanted a sex party, there would be no fucking men.” With that, she twirled and walked away from us. But that smooth exit was ruined when she bumped into a guy that had been coming in our direction.
He was some type of dirty blond with generic features and a very forgettable face.
“Oh, sorry-”
“Didn’t see you there-”
They said at the same time as he stepped back a few steps and Jade fully looked at his face. A smile of recognition colored her face as she grabbed his hand, pulling him back to us.
“Guys, this is Sam. He also stays in this hotel and he’s a pretty loaded heir to a great company somewhere in the country.” Jade spilled out, wriggling her eyebrows non-too-subtly. “We’re kind of friends, I guess.” She looked back at him skeptically.
Mild amusement filled my eyes.
The Sam-guy laughed at Jade's words, his stance was relaxed and carefree. “And who are these?”
“That’s Adonis.” Jade motioned at me. “Then Cole. From work.” Then she motioned at the woman in Cole's grubby grip. “That’s Monica. The beautiful ladies all over the place are her beautiful friends too.”
“For someone who just arrived at this city not too long ago, you sure have made a lot of acquaintances, Jade.” He grinned.
Jade winked. “Call it feminine charm.” She turned to walk away and he followed like a lost puppy, smiling and talking eagerly. I took a swig of my hard drink, feeling a smirk forming at the edge of my lips.
Wait till he realizes she has zero interest in men.
A familiar vibration buzzed in my pants and I paused, digging my hand in to fish out my phone from my pockets. I got it on and peered at the screen.
It was a text.
The name on top of the text icon read Tina. I realized that until now she had temporarily stopped texting. I had not even noticed until this text right now. I contemplated shoving my phone back into my pockets but curiosity got the better of me, and I tapped on the text icon to open it.
There was a nude picture of her in something that looked like a black Jeep with a red interior, her breasts propped up on the steering wheel and her back arched, thighs parted as she stared sideways at the camera, lips parted and hair tousled.
That was not what caught my attention instantly. It was the short sentence beneath the picture. The words that I honestly never expected and those words that I really never appreciated, no matter who the fuck it’s coming from.
Especially Tina.
Beneath her naked picture, were the words,
I love you, Adonis Ace Giles.
