"What?" Olivia was taken aback by his question, her face showing confusion.
Morgan looked worried and said, "Have you gone silly from the fever? Don't you recognize Ollie?"
Dylan's lips moved, but he didn't voice his real question in front of Morgan.
What he really wanted to ask was whether Olivia was truly the person who had saved him eight years ago.
All the evidence seemed to point to Chloe as the one who had rescued him back then. But three days ago in that pit, judging from the way Olivia and Chloe had acted, it was Olivia who seemed more like the girl in his hazy memory.
'Well, about that yellow dress? Why was it on Chloe? And why would Chloe know about the promise we made down there in the pit?' Dylan wondered.
After Dylan had recovered from his injuries, he would occasionally pick Chloe up from school, and Olivia had passed by them.
'Why didn't she recognize me then and tell me the truth, instead of waiting until after we got married, and only after Chloe was with me, to reveal that she was the one who saved me?' Dylan thought.
"Doctor? Get a doctor in here to check on him," Morgan said loudly, seeing Dylan staring blankly at Olivia.
Morgan's health was already fragile, and with this sudden anxiety, he clutched his chest, gasping for breath, his hand trembling on his cane. He looked as if he might collapse at any moment.
Olivia quickly moved to support Morgan. "Mr. Wilson, please don't get so agitated."
Dylan snapped out of his daze and said urgently, "Grandpa, I'm fine. I was just thinking. Take some deep breaths and try to calm down."
The doctor came in and wheeled Morgan away for an examination. His health was already precarious, and any shock could easily worsen his condition.
With the doctor's help, Morgan's emotions stabilized quickly, but he still seemed more drained than before.
The doctor repeatedly warned them not to let Morgan experience any more stress, especially negative stress. They should try to keep him happy and in good spirits; otherwise, he might not make it through the year.
After thanking the doctor, Olivia entered Morgan's room. Dylan had Ivan wheel him in as well.
"Grandpa, you must take care of yourself. I want you to be around for a few more years," Dylan said, his voice choking with emotion, enveloped in sorrow.
He had grown up with Morgan and felt a deeper connection to him than to his own parents.
When his father had passed away, Dylan hadn't felt much, but whenever Morgan fell ill, Dylan couldn't help but worry.
Morgan sighed, "I wish I could live longer, but my health is just too poor. I'm afraid I won't live to see you have a complete family."
In his mind, their family wouldn't be complete until they had children.
Morgan had been hoping Olivia would get pregnant sooner, and if he took good care of himself, he might live to see their family happy and whole before he passed away.
But as the days went by and Olivia still hadn't conceived, and as he felt death drawing nearer, he knew he would leave this world with regrets. Thinking of this, Morgan sighed again.
Olivia suddenly spoke up. "Mr. Wilson, I'm already four and a half months pregnant. The babies will be born in about four months. You must take care of yourself and wait to hold our children when they are born."
The doctor had told her during her checkups that twins were often delivered prematurely, so it might not even be four months before the babies arrived.
"What, you're pregnant?" Morgan and Dylan exclaimed in unison, their voices slightly out of control, but their expressions were vastly different.
