                    Molly’s POV
I was confused when Gianni instructed me to follow Jamie, watching as Erica replaced me. I felt a pang of sadness, but it was quickly replaced by the sound of a gunshot.
Gianni had coldly shot Erica, and I couldn't help but feel relieved. Women like Erica and Kiara thought they could manipulate any man with their charm, but Gianni proved otherwise.
We made our way to a nearby hotel, taking the elevator to the tenth floor. Stepping out, I was escorted by Jamie, who led me to a room with a bodyguard swiping a card to open the door.
The room was elegantly lit, with a man sitting on a luxurious sofa under a grand chandelier. A smile crept onto my face
Leaving Wesley had brought me back to my old life, but this time, I had a man who truly loved me.
"I knew you'd enjoy this place. You seem happy to see me, and I'm confident that by the time we're done, you won't long for Don Gio anymore."
His words almost made me laugh, but I managed to keep my composure. "Actually, my smile was directed at the chandelier. It's quite unique," I replied.
I noticed his smile freeze as he gestured for me to sit down. "Please, have a seat."
Giannie was right. It was Benjamin Cloud, also known as Benjie. Instead of sitting, I decided to survey the room, planning my exit strategy and defenses in case things turned sour.
Thanks to Gianni, my mindset had shifted, and most importantly, I felt fearless.
The large glass flower vase caught my eye, so I walked over to it as Benjie approached me with a glass of wine.
"Do you need a refresher? Do my last words ring a bell, or do you even recognize me?" he inquired.
I met his gaze with a smile as I accepted the wine, remembering Gianni's warning not to drink until he had his own wine delivered.
Benjie's attention was divided between his phone and the live stream on the screen in front of him, capturing everything happening in the restaurant.
"I do remember you, and I'm pleased to inform you that you failed," I retorted, redirecting his focus to the screen before discreetly emptying my glass into the vase.
"I'm not surprised that you were monitoring us through that screen."
He glanced at the screen before turning back to me, refilling my glass. Actually, my request is simple. Be my wife, and I will give you the world."
"Are you afraid to ask me to be your maid?" I taunted, noticing guilt in his eyes before he responded. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't know how to properly woo a woman back then."
"Well, your stature hasn't changed since I've known you.” He still lanky, unlike Gianni who is so well-built.
"But I have changed in terms of wealth. Just give me one night, and I'll clear your name. I'll also make you ten times the star you were before. You sang so well a while ago."
I wanted to laugh but refrained, finding it too rude. "I understand your point, but my answer is simple. I wasn't interested in you before, and I'm not interested in you now."
"You will regret it. Don Gio cannot protect you. Do you even know his mother? That man will only bring you danger."
He seemed well-informed about Gio, and as much as I wanted to boast about my loyalty to Gio, I remembered his request to keep our relationship a secret.
"You speak as if you know Gianni, yet you are unaware of my relationship with him."
"I know you two dated in college. I know he still wants you, and if he hasn't married you, then I assume you haven't accepted his proposal. Could it be because of his son? Ever wondered who his mother is?"
His questions tempted me to seek answers, but I knew it would be unwise.
Nothing about Benjie ever attracted me, and even in the most expensive suit, I knew I would never fall for him.
"To avoid wasting both our time, I suggest we end this discussion. There's nothing of interest here, and you're just as boring as before."
My words seemed to irritate him, evident from the frown on his face. Suddenly, his hands flew to my hair, gripping it tightly. He dialed a number and stared at me.
“Let me speak with Don Gio,” he said, facing me. “Tonight, you will know who is in charge.”
I met his gaze defiantly as the call connected. I didn’t hear Gianni’s response to his threat, but I reacted by pouring the wine on his face and smashing the glass on his head.
“You bitch,” he groaned and shouted. “If I can’t have her, then I will kill her.”
It was a mistake for him to threaten me. Perhaps we would both meet our end together.
He grabbed my arm, but I swiftly twisted away, gaining control and breaking his arm.
“Arhhh,” he screamed in pain, reaching for his phone and saying, “come here now.”
“Oh, can’t handle me? Calling for backup?” I taunted, hoping to dissuade him from bringing reinforcements, as I wasn’t sure I could defend myself against multiple assailants.
The room was spacious, allowing me to easily outmaneuver him. “You seem like you need to be taught a lesson.”
I clenched my fists, but first, I removed my stilettos to avoid any hindrances. I then leaped onto the sofa, delivering a powerful punch to his face that rendered him unconscious.
If Hank hadn’t made me endure that pain, I wouldn’t have known how to strike so effectively.
Benjie was starting to regain consciousness but fell right back into it as two of his men entered. “Seize her,” one of them ordered, but I shook my head. “Over my dead body.”
I leaped onto the sofa before he could reach me, eyeing the chandelier as my next target. Anything that would keep me off the ground was welcome, but I misjudged the distance.
As I neared the chandelier, I lost my balance, resigned to my fate as I was caught in a strong grip.
But why did he smell so familiar? “Miss me?” Gianni’s voice whispered in my ear, and I embraced him tightly. “Gianni, I'm so relieved you're here.”
