Giovanni’s POV
“Gio, the idiot has a camera installed, and all Dwayne had to do was hack into it. A while ago, he was talking to someone on the phone, saying he was going to record having sex with Molly and use it to blackmail her into being with him," Hank reported. I wanted to kill that son of a bitch with my bare hands.
"Can you get me in?" If they knew I was coming, they would find means to stop me and that would waste time.
"Of course. He bought over the hotel, but you can use his secret entry," Hank revealed. I was so glad he was able to do all this, even with Roger around him.
"Thanks, Hank, I owe you big time."
"Just get there fast. He’s calling for backup, and I don’t know if Molly can handle it."
To call for backup when dealing with a woman as a don was so disappointing, but I was proud of Molly. With her rejecting Don Black, I knew the idiot might try to harm her like he threatened on the phone.
Don Black could not defeat her alone, and that was massive for someone who trained for barely a month. It shows her determination to get her life back and be able to go wherever she wants without people trying to shame or bully her.
Making it right when the bodyguards were entering, I entered with them without them knowing. Just as Molly missed that chandelier, I was quick to catch her before she fell or anything.
Though she would have fallen onto the sofa, it would have made it easy for those men to capture her.
Her excitement when our eyes met was enough for me. "I promised to be here for you," I reminded her, just as one of the men tried to hit me with a stick, but I kicked his leg with Molly still in my arms.
"Let me down," she yelled, but she looked cute, and for two men, I didn’t have to drop her to take care of them.
My kicks were enough to render them unconscious before Hank arrived.
"Where is Roger?" I asked him. He sighed. "He’s fine and safe." He rushed over to Don Black’s side before I gently dropped Molly on the sofa.
Hank had already tied Don Black to a chair, poured water in his ice bucket, and emptied it on him.
That was enough to make him alert. "Benjie, Don Black. You are really good at hiding. So, what do you want to tell me about my family?" I asked, his tired gaze landed on Molly. "I underestimated you."
"Just answer my question," I demanded as Hank punched him in the face. Don Black was the kind of Don who had his bodyguards doing all the work for him, so he never learned to fight like me.
"Everything you are going through is because of your mother," he revealed. I couldn't help the confusion setting in. My mother was evil, but what did she have to do with him?
"Don't bring my mother into this,” I warned seriously. If this was a joke, I wasn’t ready for it.
"That night before you left, do you know how your father ended up at the hospital? I have something on the phone. Play it."
I was surprised at how he was cooperating, due to the types of torture I had planned for him.
He picked up his phone and played the audio he was talking about. "You have to help us. Gio isn't focusing on the family business because of that girl. She has to go." That was my mother’s voice. I recognized it immediately.
"She's not the problem. In fact, I've had eyes on her for a long time. But why don't we break them up? If we cause an accident, he won't be able to reach her for sometime, and that would end everything,” Don Black’s voice followed.
"You are right."
"Mother?" I knew it was time to pay her a visit, but I didn't want to endanger Molly in doing so. "What about the attack that wiped out my family?"
“It was all because of your mother's greed. She should have paid the man she used to cause your accident, but she was afraid your father would find out. The rest, you already know."
This revelation was not what I had anticipated. All this while, I had been sacrificing for a family that was responsible for taking away the best things in my life, including Molly.
"All I ever wanted was Molly. I couldn't have her for years, but you had her so easily because I partnered with your mom, who was doing business with my dad," Don Black revealed, I realized something important.
"Wait, my mother knows Molly?" I asked in disbelief, as I hadn’t processed the information well from the beginning.
"More than you realize, Don Gio. If Molly hadn't been caught up in the scandal and disappeared, your mother would have found a way to eliminate her."
So, it was all orchestrated by my mother. Sometimes, it felt futile to fight for family, but I needed answers to some crucial questions. Was she even my real mother? Why was she so eager to make me miserable?
"Now that you know the truth, are you going to kill your mother?"
