                    Giovanni’s POV
To kill my mother? That would be too easy for her. After all she had done, I needed to speak with her, but not too soon. I would have to order a DNA test to know if she was truly my mother.
Of course, she hadn't told me who the silent shareholders were, despite my repeated inquiries. It turns out it was the Clouds. How could I have been kept in the dark about something like this?
I was young back then, but my father explained that stakeholders were untouchable, so we could maintain a cordial relationship free of fear.
If I could train Molly to improve, she would be ready to confront my mother if necessary.
Despite everything, my mother hadn't shown any disdain, so I knew that this time, nothing could tear us apart.
I didn't realize that many people already knew what I was trying to hide, but it wouldn't change my feelings for Molly, and I wouldn't let it tear us apart.
They succeeded before, but this time, they won't succeed. My greatest fear was Molly rejecting me if she found out what I had become, but since that hadn't happened, I knew nothing else would pull us apart.
As for Don Black, I never intended to let him live, but due to our families' allegiance, I wanted to completely incapacitate him. Oh, he would wish for the death he so desperately avoided.
After shooting both of his legs, I had another target in mind but wanted him to choose.
"Guess where the next shot will be directed," I asked him, not expecting him to turn his hopes to Molly. "Molly, please help me. All I did was love you," he pleaded.
I paused and looked at her. Would she beg for him as she used to? The smile on her face was priceless, but the intention behind it remained beyond my understanding.
"I'm sorry, but this is between both of you," she replied, and began playing a game on her phone. Hank tapped me on the shoulder.
"I'm going to take care of Roger," he said and left the three of us in the room but I reminded him before he reached the door.
“Tell them to let Erica go.” The bitch would only die if she tries anything stupid.
It seemed like Molly was unconcerned in this matter, but Don Black saw her as his only hope, as he refused to give up on making her plead on his behalf.
Molly, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made this visit so direct. This whole situation is because of you," he accused her. Molly raised her head from the game she was playing on her phone and glared at him.
"Based on everything I've learned today, you're the reason my life got messed up and I ended up with the wrong person. If it weren't for you causing that accident, I would have been married to Gianni. So why would I speak on your behalf?"
Her head lowered back to her phone as if she hadn't just spoken, and Don Black seemed to be losing a lot of blood, feeling dizzy.
"Do you still have hope in Molly now?" I asked him, seeing only emotional and physical pain in his eyes.
"Don Gio, I'm really sorry, but please don't do this," he began to beg. I chuckled.
"It's too late for that. If you hadn't played this game of hide and seek and confessed from the beginning, maybe I would consider it. But after endangering Molly, you have to pay."
I shot him in the shoulder, causing him to lose consciousness, but that didn't stop me from shooting his other shoulder.
Even if he survives, he will need years of therapy to ever be normal again. I picked up his phone and dialed the last number. Santiago answered.
"Hello, Don Black."
"I suggest you send your boss to the hospital," I said and ended the call, then held out my hand to Molly.
We took the elevator they had stepped out of, and I pressed the button for the top floor. It was a rooftop.
"Where are we going?" Molly asked. I smiled at her. "To celebrate, and I think you must be hungry."
The reality that I hadn't gone out with Molly as a couple since we met again hit me as we reached the rooftop.
"It's good to be rich and powerful. An ordinary person would have the police on their tail, but here we are on a rooftop with the best view. I must confess, it's so beautiful here."
Pulling her into my arms, I gently cupped her face in my hands. It felt perfect to be together, and her lips were incredibly tempting.
Unfortunately, our moment was interrupted by a waiter. "Sir, Madam, what can I offer you?"
Turning to her, I asked, "What would you like?" She leaned in and whispered, "I've lost my appetite. I want you."
I hoped she wouldn't regret her words as I quickly turned to the waiter. "I heard this hotel was fully booked..."
The waiter interjected, "Not anymore. The payment didn't go through, so we canceled the reservation a few minutes ago."
"Then please book us the most expensive presidential suite and have our food brought there." I handed the waiter my card, and I noticed her eyes widen in surprise.
"Yes, boss. Please follow me," she said, leading us to the presidential suite. She informed us, "I will go bring the food."
As my arms wrapped around Molly's waist once more, she tiptoed and kissed me on the lips.
"Gianni, I love you so much," she whispered.
I couldn't help but express my concern, "You know how dangerous my mother can be, right? Aren't you afraid for your life?" Her response left me speechless.
