Molly’s POV
After the incident involving Wesley, my sister Kiara, and me, I initially found it hard to trust Gianni. However, recalling the first time we had sex, I realized his words were genuine.
If Gianni had been involved with Octavia, she would have been responsible for that aspect of his life, but clearly, she wasn't.
My only conclusion is that perhaps he was intoxicated, which he denied. This leaves me wondering if he could be fathering another man's child, but their eyes are strikingly similar, and I suspect Roger resembles his mother in other areas.
Patience became essential to prevent myself from going insane. I don't want to disappoint Gianni, who, unlike Wesley, has always protected and respected me.
Later, Nora picked us up and drove us to the mall. This time, I made sure to explore other brands before visiting the Dawson store. As we entered the first shop, I felt like my old self before the scandal.
There were whispers around us, likely fueled by rumors. I couldn't understand why people would speak in hushed tones and still be heard.
"Molly Campbell defeated Erica, and she denied the rumors. Do you believe her?"
"Even Erica believes her, so why shouldn't I?"
"Do you think she would give her autograph?"
It was evident that these were among the individuals spreading the rumors, so I avoided them. After purchasing a few items, we moved on to another store before finally visiting the Dawson store.
Can you blame me for wanting to support Gianni's company? The staff at the Dawson store were overly friendly, and I encouraged Nora to choose more clothes, but she hesitated.
"These are more expensive than the others, and you didn't let me pick more from there. These are from Don Dawson's family companies, but they are too pricey."
"I insist that you choose, or I will do it for you," I replied firmly. She started selecting items she liked but eventually asked me,
"Am I not allowed to inquire about the man you were intimate with?" A smile spread across my lips, but I couldn't keep her in the dark since she was like my only friend now.
"For your ears only," I warned her, and she gave me the pinky finger. "Gianni is my ex, but now we are back together."
I saw the smile freeze on her face. "What? Look, Don Gio is a good man, but aren't you afraid of his family?"
Nora looked worried, but I smiled and replied, "On the contrary, I'm rather excited to meet them."
She stared at me as if I had fallen from space. "What happened to you? You've changed since the last time I saw you."
"Which version of me do you prefer? The current me or the previous one?" I asked her, she pursed her lips.
"I like the current you better," she smiled and embraced me. I felt my stomach rumble since I hadn't eaten much of what Gianni ordered in the morning.
"Let's go eat, and don't worry, all of tonight's expenses are on me."
All the restaurants were expensive, but I chose the most luxurious one. I don't usually treat myself, but this time, I wanted to enjoy things I had denied myself before, and I knew Gianni wouldn't mind, especially since I was using the card he gave me.
Truth be told, this was the first time I was using it, perhaps wanting to draw his attention to my spending.
"Molly, are you sure about this? A private room?" Nora asked, sounding worried. I wondered why she was being so frugal as a hotel manager.
"Why are you so stingy? Don't tell me Gianni has been underpaying you."
"No, I'm just saving up to start my own business one day," she revealed. I was intrigued. "What kind of business do you plan on starting?" I asked, planning how I could support her once I start making money from singing again.
"Look who's here. Molly?" It was Bertha, Wesley's younger sister, and Radley, his younger brother. "After all you did to my family, you think singing with Erica will make you a star?"
Honestly, I hadn't thought about them since the lesson Gianni taught them that day, and seeing them here, I couldn't help but chuckle.
"What are you pests doing here? Well, save it, I don't have time for you." As I tried to walk past them, Radley blocked my way. Not so fast. After what you did to my family, I want you to kneel down and beg before my brother arrives. I see your bodyguard isn’t with you," he snarled.
Wesley? I would have been afraid of facing him before, but not anymore. Also, due to my desire to return to singing, I don’t want to make a scene.
“Nora, can you make sure nobody records anything that happens here today?”
She stared at me with confusion but agreed. Not many people use these sides because they lead to various private rooms, but I still needed to take necessary precautions. As for the cameras, Gianni could always take care of them for me.
“Sure, but who are they?” Nora asked. I smiled and introduced them. “Nora, meet my lazy, undisciplined ex-brother and sister-in-law.”
“Molly, who are you calling lazy?” Radley was saying as he raised his hand, hastening to me. I kicked his knee, sending him to the floor with his mouth touching my feet. He groaned and spat blood, fear evident in his eyes as our gazes met.
“Looks like you enjoy kissing my feet, don’t you?”
