                    Giovanni’s POV
All I wanted was to make Molly happy, so when she requested it, I got in the mood, despite not remembering the last time I danced.
Our movements were in sync, and I let her drink as much as she wanted.
Her laughter and excitement were magical and contagious, and I didn’t want the moment to end. Suddenly, I couldn’t find Nora.
Since Nora was here because of Molly, I felt responsible for her, especially since it was her day off. The disco lights made it difficult to locate her, and Molly was already drunk, so I couldn’t leave her alone.
“Molly, we need to find Nora,” I said, trying to get her attention. “Did something happen to her? Where is she?” Molly asked, but I kept scanning the room.
“I don’t know, but let’s look around,” I suggested, guiding Molly as we searched for Nora.
It was almost futile when she wasn’t answering her calls, and I was about to ask the manager to check the CCTV when I spotted a man carrying a woman in his arms.
The black dress the woman was wearing looked identical to Nora’s, so I approached the man. “Do you know her?”
Initially resistant, the man seemed nervous when our eyes met. “Don Dawson?”
Due to the black suit, most no one recognized me easily, as most of them expected me to wear my usual white one.
“What did you do to her?” I demanded after confirming that the woman was indeed Nora.
“Nora, wake up,” Molly called out in her drunken state, but the man remained silent, seemingly at a loss for words. I..." He started to say, but then abruptly began lowering Nora.
Molly had already noticed and was checking on Nora, who seemed to have been drugged as she had been active earlier.
"Security," I called out, and Jace appeared with them, reminding me that he was still watching over Molly since I hadn't instructed him to take the rest of the night off.
"Don, is there a problem?"
"Take Nora to one of the rooms and let her rest. As for him," I whispered to him, "report him missing and take tomorrow off."
It was Sunday, and I planned to spend it with Molly. Jace carried Nora to a room, and security escorted the man away.
Despite our efforts, it was challenging to prevent people from entering our clubs with drugs.
After having a doctor check on Nora and confirming she would sleep off the effects, I assigned someone to watch over her closely.
Molly seemed exhausted, and as soon as she lay down, she fell asleep. She wanted to wait for Nora to wake up before leaving the club's hotel, so we spent the night there.
The next morning, Molly woke up early and checked on Nora. After ensuring that the man who drugged her had been taken care of, we left.
I instructed Hank to bring Roger back at Molly's request, and upon arriving at the office, I received the DNA report and a call from the family doctor.
“Giovanni, your suspicions are correct. Beatrix is not your biological mother. Your real mother passed away during childbirth, and she was your father's first wife."
"What?" The news hit me like a sudden downpour. My father married before this woman? "Are you absolutely certain about this?"
As I stared at the DNA report, the truth was difficult to accept. I couldn't shake the feeling that my adoptive mother might have knowledge about my real mother's death.
"Giovanni, after receiving the results, I conducted some further investigation. I felt it was important for you to know the truth, not just for financial reasons," he explained.
Surprised, I asked, "If it's not about money, then why did you feel the need to tell me?"
"Two weeks ago, your mother had my only daughter killed because she refused to be used against you," he disclosed, leaving me in shock.
The thought of his daughter sacrificing herself for the right cause stirred a deep anger within me.
"Why didn't you inform me of this sooner?" She would have died if she accepted the mission but I would have protected her if her father had made it known to me sooner.
"I was afraid you wouldn't believe me," he admitted, regret evident in his voice. But he had one more revelation to share.
"There is more you need to know, Gio. Promise me you will seek justice for my daughter. Beatrix is not your real mother, and there is more to uncover," he urged, hinting at hidden truths.
"Tell me everything," I demanded, determined to uncover the full extent of the secrets surrounding my identity.
“Please, my son is the only one I have left, and you have to promise to protect him if I tell you this."
I remembered that his son was also in the medical field and had traveled abroad for further studies.
"Just send me the details of his location, and I will make sure he's protected."
"Okay. Your father's heart attack was not due to a natural cause. Beatrix had me give her some medications, but I had no idea she was going to use them on your father until he was brought to the hospital."
My teeth gritted so hard that I could feel them like sand in my mouth, but he said one last thing that gave me a clue. "I found out later that your father wanted to tell you something important about the company, which Beatrix didn't want."
After ending the call with the family doctor, he sent his son's location, and I got in touch with some special agents to protect him. But for now, I had to be tougher on Molly for her to perfect her defenses, just in case.
I also had to find out exactly what my father wanted to tell me. It must certainly be about the company.
A few weeks later, I found a producer for Molly, so her schedule was tight, and she had to rotate between the office and her recordings.
The information from Kiara had not been publicized yet, as we were waiting for the right time.
Jace called me on the phone when I was busy with work at the office. "Don, Octavia..." I couldn't hear anything anymore, but felt strongly that Octavia must be in a building.
Damn, her graduation was yesterday, and I missed it. I mean, I completely forgot but could she be with Molly? The moment I couldn’t reach Jace anymore, I headed there.
