Molly’s POV
The past two weeks have been hectic for me, juggling between training, taking care of Roger, work, and recordings. I couldn’t complain because this was what I wanted, feeling myself getting smarter as I tried to find solutions to complex matters.
This was the time I needed Gianni to be softer, but he seemed even harder than before, surpassing Hank.
Something was bothering him, but he refused to share. However, his behavior didn't affect me much due to the overwhelming tasks I had on my plate.
I needed to acquire the skills to manage my company independently if it was successfully taken from Wesley, so I couldn't afford to skip going to the office for the recordings. I had to find a way to balance it all.
Taking care of Roger gave me a sense of accomplishment. We often worked out together as a family before leaving the house, and despite everything, I made sure to pick him up from school with Jace and sometimes Zak.
Occasionally, Gianni would join us, but most of the time, he was too preoccupied. Intimacy was becoming scarce because we were both exhausted, and Gianni was so engrossed in his work that he never initiated it after the last time.
He assured me that he was busy with a project but promised to make more time for us once things settled down, so I trusted him. In our previous relationship, he had never cheated on me, so I didn't think he would do so now.
Mondays were dedicated to office work as I had to attend manager meetings, but Agatha provided great support, and I appreciated her help.
After lunchtime, while I was wrapping up some work, I overheard voices outside the door and decided to investigate.
"By Don's orders, you can't enter," Jace said as he spoke on the phone. "Don, Octavia."
One of the bodyguards accompanying the woman named Octavia abruptly took the phone from Jace and turned it off. If this woman was Octavia, she was truly stunning, and I could see where Roger inherited his looks from.
While his eyes resembled Gianni's, other features like his nose seemed to come from this woman.
“Don would be on his way. Molly, please go back to your office," Jace said, but I was more interested in meeting this woman, as I had heard so much about her.
"She wants to talk, it's fine," I agreed. She smiled at me. Octavia was young and beautiful, looking like a woman in her early twenties.
"Wow, Molly Campbell, I'm a fan," she said excitedly, but I couldn't miss the coldness in her eyes.
"I'm glad," I smiled, though it was forced.
Leading her into my office, she looked around with interest. For someone who gave birth to Roger, she looked so good.
Perhaps not taking on the responsibility and stress that comes with caring for babies could make one so beautiful.
"I like your office," she said when I offered her a seat. I replied, "I like your outfit."
Her attention was drawn to herself with proud satisfaction. "Thank you, Vanni bought it for me as an engagement gift."
"Excuse me," I failed to hide my envy, and I knew it would show in my expression at that moment. But her excitement caused me to act more properly. "I mean, he has good taste."
This time, I took control of my emotions and smiled at her. She frowned a little and continued to speak like a teenager.
"Guess what? I heard rumors as soon as I arrived that you work here, so I stopped by to say hi, but that bodyguard was quite stubborn."
Knowing she was just trying to justify her reason for wanting to barge into my office, I played along because I had also been eager to meet her. "He's just following orders."
She smiled at me, but once again, her eyes were cold, as if hiding some kind of mystery. "I'm glad to have you around, and you are prettier than on the screens."
"Thank you," I curtly responded. She was already on her feet. "I will go see Vanni now. He must be missing me."
I didn't stop her, but as soon as she opened the door, I saw her expression change when Gianni walked in, and she quickly embraced him.
Vanni, I miss you so much," she said, reaching out for a hug. He didn't embrace her but didn't push her away either, instead asking, "What are you doing here?"
Looking up at Gianni with longing, she replied, "I just came to see Molly. I'm a fan," tugging at his sleeve as his gaze shifted between us and then to Octavia.
"We need to talk," he said to Octavia, who was excited. However, it was closing time for me, so I left and picked up Roger from school.
When we got home, I spent time with Roger in the kitchen, singing his favorite songs and preparing his favorite dish.
Gianni arrived about thirty minutes late, just as I was about to call to confirm if we should have dinner without him. To my surprise, he had a guest with him. Can you guess who it was?
