                    Octavia’s POV
Vanni completely changed my son. Roger was more fierce and unwelcoming compared to Vanni, and when I looked at him, he seemed nothing like his real father.
Gael was very gentle and kind, and I believe that if he were still alive, no one would associate him with Roger. This behavior made it challenging for me to implement my plans because Roger was as stubborn as a rock.
He appeared so upset that his words seemed final. However, I couldn’t bear the thought of being pushed out of my son's life.
"Roger, can you please let her stay downstairs? She's still your mother," Molly pleaded, and I understood why Gianni loved her. She was talented and kind, which could work to my advantage, except I couldn't deceive Roger.
His personality was complex. Like a light switch, he could shift from being caring to very mean. He was caring when interacting with his father or Molly, but mean when dealing with me.
"The fact that she gave birth to me doesn't make her a mother," he coldly stared at me, but his gaze softened when he looked at Molly. "You are the only one who made me feel like I have a mother," he said to Molly, causing a pang of pain in my heart as I saw the sweet smile on her face.
I wanted to wipe it away, as it seemed to be her charm in winning the hearts of both Roger and Vanni.
"That woman is not welcome here, and if she stays, then I'll go live with Uncle Hank," Roger threatened, and my hopes began to fade.
Whenever Vanni came to spend the weekend, I knew Roger stayed with Hank, but I had no idea their relationship had grown so strong.
As I started to climb the stairs to reach him, he stopped me before I reached the middle.
"Don't come close to me, or you'll regret it," the firmness in his voice frightened me, and Vanni called one of the bodyguards, giving instructions.
"Take her to my penthouse."
I couldn't let that happen, so before the bodyguard reached me, I decided to plead. "Vanni, please, you don't believe her, do you? She must have conspired with the maid and manipulated my son," I accused, and Molly looked at me with disappointment.
I couldn't care less about what she thought of me. Vanni belonged to me, and I had no intention of leaving this house.
Maybe I should have slowed down my plans instead of rushing them like this.
"Octavia, I'm very disappointed in your behavior. You're claiming Molly wanted to sabotage you?" Vanni's tone was stern, and I felt a pang in my chest as his gaze hardened. "Alright. Let's see if you or the maid lied to me. I'll check the CCTV cameras, and if you're lying, you'll regret it..."
I didn't wait for him to finish his threat before pleading, "No, Vanni, it's all a misunderstanding."
The thought of the cameras didn't cross my mind when I tried to manipulate the maid, and if Gianni found out the truth, he wouldn't believe a word I said.
Foolish of me. Maybe I could bribe my way out before finding time later to delete everything from the camera.
"You accused Molly of brainwashing your son. A son you wanted to terminate?" The looks in Molly and Roger's eyes made my heart sink to my stomach.
Vanni was clearly upset; otherwise, he wouldn't have exposed me like this. Since meeting him today, not even my tears had moved him.
"You know what, I don't think you can continue working at the company," he added. My legs turned to jelly, and I sat on the stairs. Mom had warned me, but I had acted recklessly because of my relationship with Gianni.
"Go live in the penthouse until I figure out a better solution."
Vanni was ruthless, but I hadn't expected him to treat me this way. One mistake, and he was already denying me so much.
I realized I'd rather be on good terms with both him and Roger than on their bad side.
Molly's voice interrupted, "It's getting late. Roger, she's not staying, so please come and eat, will you?"
Roger's smile was captivating, but it pained me to see it directed at Molly. His voice was as soft as an angel's. "Of course, Mom."
He hurried past me on the stairs, avoiding any contact as if I were repulsive. But what struck me even more was the way he addressed Molly.
"Mom?" The word weighed heavily on me because, despite being a mother, I had never been addressed as such. Yet, he was calling Molly Mom.
The correction needed to be made, and I knew it had to be done now. “She's not your mother. You are my son," I said as the bodyguard approached, wrapped his fingers around my arm and forcefully began to drag me away. But as I reached the entrance, something important crossed my mind, and I yelled, "Stop! I have a question."
"What is it?" Vanni asked in annoyance. I straightened myself and walked towards Gianni.
Getting closer, I whispered, "How do you think Roger would feel if he finds out you aren't his real father?"
This struck a nerve as his expression changed when he looked at Roger.
"I'm sorry, but she has to stay downstairs for just a few days."
"Daddy," Roger began, but Vanni interrupted, "Just a few days, Roger. I promise to send her away after that."
A few days was all I needed, and the look on Molly's face made me feel victorious. Everyone lost their appetite, so we ate quickly, even though the food was delicious.
"Roger, let's go sleep in your room," Molly said. I could tell she was upset, and Vanni looked sad. Molly left with Roger, and Gianni went to his room alone, creating the perfect opportunity for me.
Another maid showed me to my room downstairs, but I was eager to see Gianni. After my shower, I changed into transparent lingerie and went to his room.
As I opened the door gently, I was hit by the sound of soft moans. Damn. Molly was supposed to be angry, so how were they making out?
