Molly’s POV
“Gianni…” I began, but he cut me off, his words cutting through me like daggers.
“Don’t. This is how you let people walk all over you. The world isn’t ruled by kindness,” Gianni said coldly, and in that moment, I feared there was no hope left for him.
The darkness seemed to have consumed the man who was once my world, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was that darkness that drove him to disappear without a trace.
Get them out of my sight," he ordered, his anger directed solely at me.
I had no regrets for intervening in whatever he had planned. Melody and the other attendants were forcefully removed from the shop, their pleas falling on deaf ears.
"I think they're lucky," a shopper remarked, and I furrowed my brow in confusion.
The attendants had just lost their jobs, and yet they were considered fortunate. It wasn't until one of them whispered to the other,
"They would have been reported missing." I overheard her hushed words and realized the gravity of the situation.
Feeling helpless, I knew there was nothing I could do for them. Gianni was a far cry from the person I once knew.
“Nora, let’s leave,” I suggested, a heavy sadness weighing on my heart. But Gianni halted me, his authoritative presence overpowering.
“Choose the items you need first. The shop may be closed to others, but not to you,” he stated, leaving me stunned by his command before I remembered that he was the owner.
I couldn’t help but wonder about Gianni’s wealth and hoped he wasn’t involved in anything illegal.
As much as I was using him to retaliate against Wesley, it pained me to see him so devastated. However, I couldn't help but wonder about the source of his wealth.
The other buyers in the shop cast strange glances in my direction, and I couldn't help but speculate about what they were thinking, especially in relation to Gianni.
The bodyguards escorted the remaining buyers out of the shop, leaving me alone with Molly. This new life was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
I selected a few items, but Molly continued to add more to the pile, as if she were relocating the entire clothing store to Gianni's house where I would be living.
Uncertain about the size of the closet or room I would have, I hesitated and started putting some of the clothes back. "It's too much," I voiced my concern.
Nora disregarded my opinion and began picking up the clothes again, making the situation more challenging.
"It's never too much. I'll wait for you in the car park," Gianni's voice interrupted, causing me to feel uneasy until I remembered he had a son.
After Gianni was out of sight, I turned to Nora and inquired, "Do they have items for a four-year-old?"
She gave me a strange look and asked, "There are kids' stores, but why do you need them?" I hesitated to respond, unsure of how she would react if she knew I was buying for Gianni's son.
"If you can share more about Gianni, then I'll explain," I suggested. She continued selecting clothes for me, indicating she wasn't going to reveal anything.
The items we purchased were too numerous to carry, but the bodyguards assisted us.
I visited a kids' store to buy clothes, books, and toys suitable for a four-year-old, following the shop manager's recommendation,
As we reached the car park, I spotted Gianni exiting a car. I started walking towards him, assuming it was his car, but then a woman emerged, causing me to stop in my tracks.
I couldn't pinpoint why her presence made me uneasy, except perhaps for her evident passion for high fashion.
She was a stunning woman in four-inch stilettos, exuding elegance and beauty. Her presence reminded me of my past days of fame.
Her laughter was melodious as she leaned towards Gianni and said, "Thank you. The items are in your car. I also have some gifts for Roger. I hope he'll like them. Please send my regards to him. I'll visit him another time."
I didn't recognize her, but her reaction to the bodyguards carrying my purchases seemed unfriendly.
Sir, we have everything she needs," Nora informed Gianni, who accepted the items from the bodyguards and loaded them into the car himself.
The woman who had been staring at me earlier rushed over to Gianni, eyeing the items in his hands disdainfully.
"You'll stain your clothes. You should let your bodyguards handle it," she said softly, pretending to brush some dust off his white suit.
Gianni did not stop her action, instructing Nora, "It's fine for today. Take the rest of the day off and report to work tomorrow. I'll inform you if there are any changes."
"Yes, sir," Nora replied with a smile before turning to me. "Molly, I'll see you later." She hugged me and whispered something in my ear that made me cringe
