                    Hank’s POV
I never knew Nora overheard what I told Molly, and I was certain Molly had not been the one to tell her, which saddened me for missing such an opportunity.
Molly was right in her recommendation. Nora was not what I had imagined her to be after her advances a few days ago.
How could I forget that kiss and her advance last night in her drunken state? The more I thought about it, the more I wanted it.
Right now, she looked so innocent that I found it hard to tell her, but the truth remained that I couldn't keep it inside.
"After you blew my mind with that kiss, I want more, and I just don't know how we can incorporate that into our friendship," I confessed.
Her expression changed instantly. "You..." She looked angry, her hand lifted to slap me, but I caught it in time.
She only succeeded the first time because I allowed it, and I can do so again, only if she promises to be mine.
"You can slap me all you want, Nora, but I mean what I said."
"You are insane. How the hell can I get out of here?" she yelled, looking around curiously and making me wonder what she was searching for.
"Where is my phone?" Oh, so that's what she's looking for. I retrieved it from where I kept it for her. “Here it is. Go shower, and I'll make you a warm breakfast," I said.
Internally, I was praying so hard that she wouldn't refuse. "Can I get a charger? My phone's battery's dead," she asked.
A sigh of relief escaped me. Charging a phone would take time and also give us enough time to catch up on a few things.
"Yeah, I do," I replied. I took the phone and put it on charge before ordering clothes in her size. As I reached the kitchen, I realized I hadn't even asked what she liked and if she had any allergies.
"Nora," I went upstairs to ask, but she was already in the shower. "Nora, what do you like?"
"What?" The sound of the shower stopped. "What do you like? For breakfast." Oh, anything nice," she replied. I went to make her some pancakes because girls love pancakes, so I also made some coffee.
The order arrived right after I set the food on the table, barging into the bedroom without knocking.
How was it my fault when I was used to living alone? I completely forgot she might be out of the shower.
Thankfully, she wasn't in the room. "Nora?"
"Here, Hank, I wanted to borrow your shirt," she yelled from the closet. I opened it to see her wrapped in my towel. Why didn't she use the towel robe instead?
This girl was playing with fire. "Don't you have casual stuff?" She asked without turning around, but my arms wrapped around her waist from the back.
"Hank, what are you doing?" she asked between gritted teeth. I chuckled. Nora was around 5'4, whereas I was 6'2, making me loom over her.
"You, in my closet with just a towel around your midsection, is sexy, don't you think?" I nibbled on her ears, feeling her shiver in my arms.
"Hank, please stop it." I pulled away instantly, and she turned to face me. “We are just friends. Remember that.”
Taking a deep breath, I informed her, “Breakfast is ready, and the clothes are here. Pick the ones you like, and I will keep the rest here for you.” I made it sound like I was certain she would come back because I was sure of it.
“Thank you,” she said and scurried out of the closet, but I was right behind her. As soon as she saw the clothes, she turned to face me.
“There are affordable options, so why spend thousands of dollars?” There weren’t price tags, but I could tell that due to her career, she knew quite a lot about fashion.
“My woman isn’t cheap,” I shrugged. She shook her head, a frustrated look in her eyes. “I’m not your woman.”
“But you will be,” I said confidently. “Even if it takes years, I would wait. But if I catch you with any other man, consider him dead.”
The horrified look in her eyes was intriguing. “You! What are you?” She sounded panicked, but I smiled.
“Let’s go eat.” If she had known, she wouldn't have kissed me because from now on, I was going to personally pursue her until she agreed to be mine.
Unlike Octavia, she had stolen my first kiss because I never kissed my one-night stands. Those were just business transactions, but Nora was different.
I waited until she descended the stairs, wearing the most casual of the dresses I had purchased, yet her grace transformed it into something stunning.
Picking up my phone, I noticed numerous missed calls but couldn't take my eyes off Nora to see who the caller was. Swiping to the camera section, I took a picture of her and set it as my screen saver. "You look stunning, Nora."
A shy smile crossed her face as she tried to pull a chair, but I stood up and did it for her.
Biting into the pancake, her eyes widened with delight. "This is delicious, like the best pancake I've ever tasted."
Well, I've been cooking my meals since a young age, always striving to improve, so she might not be exaggerating.
“I'll take that as a compliment, and you'll always have this kind of treat if you'll be mine," I winked, not caring that I sounded flirtatious.
"You are crazy," she said and began digging in when my phone beeped. It was a text from Gio, and just as I was about to open it, I saw another notification from one of my apps: 'Molly Campbell's greatest comeback.'
Before I could check the message Gio sent, my doorbell rang. "Expecting someone?" Nora taunted. I smiled at her.
“I’m not expecting anyone.” Checking the cameras, only Molly’s worried look and Gio’s angry eyes met mine. As if he knew I was checking the camera, Gio bellowed.
“Open up Hank, you have some explaining to do.”
