                    Hank’s POV
This was the first time I felt upset upon seeing Gio and Molly, although I didn't show it. I had hoped to spend more time with Nora, as she seemed eager to leave me, but Molly arrived and the two of them started talking.
Gio brought news. "Hank, someone is threatening Molly. I suspect it's Wesley's parents, but Jace informed me that they can't be traced."
This was a serious issue. "We neglected to take care of the family when we dealt with Wesley and the bitch, and now they may pose a threat. I suggest we keep enough bodyguards around Molly until we uncover the truth," I recommended, and Gio agreed.
"That's exactly what I had in mind. I don't have it in me to harm an innocent person, but if they turn hostile, I won't hesitate," Gio replied.
It would be a grave mistake for Wesley's parents to target Molly. I can only hope they come to their senses. "It would be foolish of them to take any action. However, we should remain cautious," I added.
Gio agreed with me but then brought up another important topic. "Regarding Nora, what is your relationship with her?"
I was honest with him. "I want her, but she doesn't want me and that’s because she heard the things I said to you after she kissed me."
"Are you giving up then?" Gio inquired, causing me to furrow my brows. "Do you not know me at all?" I retorted, to which he smiled.
"You were interested in Octavia before, and now it's Nora. As a friend, I'm concerned," Gio expressed.
"Thank you for your concern, but remember that Octavia rejected me. Nora, on the other hand, kissed me, so I'm not letting her slip away," I asserted.
Gio looked frustrated. "Hank, you can't force someone to love you in a relationship."
That was true but she started it so why should I stop?
"But she kissed me without my permission," I insisted. Gio sighed and posed a crucial question.
"Will you be comfortable telling her about your past as an ex-assassin? You know the risks involved in such a profession. She needs to be aware and prepared."
I paused, considering Gio's words. He was right, and that was the exact reason I didn’t want a relationship at first. But now that she stole my heart, I needed to make adjustments.
“I can’t tell her. I already quit,” I declared, but Gio was still not satisfied.
“If you want her, then she has to know everything about you. Let it be her decision if she still wants to stay or leave, but don’t hide any part of you.”
“What are they talking about?” I stiffened at the sound of Nora’s voice from the entrance, but she seemed to be talking to Molly.
Graciously, Gio diverted their attention by rising to his feet. “Molly, let’s leave now,” he said. Nora hastened to Molly’s side and held her hand.
“Molly, can you ask Don to drop me home?” she asked. Anger swirled inside me as I glared at her.
Was that how she was trying to escape from me? I quickly intervened. “No, you aren’t going with them. I will drop you home,” I said seriously. But the moment I approached her, she hastened out, dragging Molly with her.
The only reason she might be avoiding me is that she doesn’t want me to know her house, but that wasn’t hard.
“It’s not necessary, Hank. Please let me go with them,” she said pleadingly. I pursed my lips but agreed because I knew her phone was still upstairs.
“Fine, go.” She left like the wind, as if she was being chased, but I smiled internally. It wasn’t long before Gio called me on the phone. Not allowing him to waste his breath, I spoke as soon as I answered the phone.
“Gio, I have Nora’s phone, but she’ll have to come get it herself.” There was a moment of silence before Nora's voice broke through, "Hank, can you meet me halfway, please?"
I hesitated for a moment, recalling how eager she was to leave, and decided not to make it easy for her.
"It's the weekend, so why the rush? I brought you here, and it's my pleasure to take you back."
After another brief pause, Nora spoke again, "Alright. Please meet me downstairs and hand it to me. I won't step out of the car."
Reluctantly, I agreed, my focus shifting to camera footage of the gate.
When Gio's car arrived, I electronically unlocked the gate and called him on the phone, "Leave Nora and drive away, Gio. This is between me and her."
The car lingered in front of the gate for a couple of minutes before Nora finally stepped out and entered the house. I quickly locked the gate and tossed the phone aside.
As Nora entered the living room, she hurried towards me, but I stood up and met her halfway. Her phone was still upstairs as I had not moved from my position.
"Hank, what's going on? My phone," she asked.
Our eyes met, and I gently cupped her chin, pressing my lips against hers. She resisted at first but eventually gave in. When we parted, she slapped me hard across the face, her eyes filled with anger.
I knew I deserved it.
