                    Nora’s POV
After the wedding, I finally understood why Molly loved Roger so much. He was disciplined, intelligent, and resilient.
Inspired by him, I started training alongside himself and Hank every morning until Molly and Gio returned from their honey mon.
Roger's dedication to learning also improved my relationship with Hank.
For the first time, I felt like a mother figure, caring for a child who was independent and mature beyond his years.
Molly then suggested another concert, and I eagerly agreed, putting my business on hold.
The final day of the concert took a somber turn when Molly collapsed, but I stepped in to handle the situation, inadvertently gaining some unwanted attention.
Despite the incident, Molly's connection with her fans deepened as they showed their support by gathering outside the hospital. Gio, as I now referred to him, helped manage the situation and dispersed the crowd.
Although it felt strange to call him Gio, I knew I would eventually get used to it.
Each day, Hank and I visited Molly in the hospital, and on one occasion, we encountered two young boys rushing into the elevator we stepped out from.
“Roger?" we all exclaimed in unison, but Roger remained unresponsive until a knife slipped from his grasp and he pressed it against the boy's neck, causing my eyes to widen in shock.
"Roger, stop," Gio and Hank attempted to pry him away from the boy, but his grip only tightened, causing the boy to struggle for breath.
"He tried to stab me, but Mom saved me and now she's hurt because of him," Roger spoke with a chilling tone that belied his young age.
"Roger, wait. If you kill him, we won't be able to find out who's behind all this," Gio reasoned. Roger reluctantly released his hold on the boy, who gasped for air before receiving a harsh slap across the face, causing his nose to bleed.
"If anything happens to my mother, you'll pay for it," Roger threatened.
Gio knelt down beside Roger as the elevator continued its ascent and descent, answering a call on his phone. "Don't worry, Molly. Roger filled me in, and I'll make sure they pay for what they've done."
He then made a call and instructed, "Go take care of my Donner and don't leave until I get there."
Turning his attention back to Roger, Gio inquired, "Roger, how is Molly?"
"I'm not sure. I rang the emergency bell before chasing after this guy. The doctors should be with her now," Roger replied. So smart to call for help for Molly and also not letting the culprit escape.
Do all children think like this? Gio then addressed the other boy, Wade.
"Wade, where are your parents?"
“You caused their deaths. If you hadn't gotten them arrested, the accident wouldn't have happened," the boy shouted. It was hard to tell who was older between him and Roger.
"Some things are hard for kids to understand, but I have to send you to child protection service, or I can make sure to send you to a place where they know how to deal with bad boys like you," Gio said firmly.
Fear filled Wade's eyes as he started to apologize. "I'm sorry. Grandpa said you took everything from us, so we had to take Roger too. He warned me that if I didn't agree, I'd end up homeless."
Parents like that don't deserve to live. I could see the pain in Hank and Gio's eyes as Hank told Roger, "Please go stay with Mom. Your dad and I will handle this."
Roger shook his head in refusal. "No, I need to see it through. I have to make sure they pay for what they did."
I was at a loss for words, but Gio seemed desperate as he asked Wade, "Can you take me to your grandparents?" Wade nodded. "They are in the underground car park, but can you tell Roger not to harm me?"
Our attention shifted to what Roger was holding as Gio spoke softly. "Roger, please hand over the dagger."
"No," Roger refused. "I won't harm Wade, but I want to see his grandparents."
"If he says he won't harm you, then he won't," Gio assured Wade, who nodded and pressed a button on the elevator.
I couldn't figure out how he knew to do that, but when we arrived, he sprinted towards a van. Just as Gio and Hank were about to follow, a group of men surrounded us.
"Hank, we need to stop the van from moving," Gio said. I was puzzled, but Hank replied, "You go after them. I'll handle these guys."
Gio looked at Roger, who nodded. "I'll help Uncle Hank." I thought Gio would assign the boy to me, but to my surprise, he agreed.
How could he leave a child to assist a man when a capable woman was present?
As Gio took a step, the men blocked his path, but Roger threw the dagger, piercing the chest of one of them. “Get the boy," one of them said as the van sped away.
Gio pulled the knife from the man Roger had stabbed and threw it towards the van, piercing one of the tires. He then pulled out a gun and shot the other tire, causing the van to fall on its side.
"Good job, Roger," Gio said as he ran towards the van, unfazed by the approaching men.
They pulled out guns, but Hank shot their hands, causing the guns to fall. Roger bit one man's arm and then shoved his fingers into the man's eyes, causing him to yell in pain.
With the guns scattered on the floor, Roger picked one up and threw it to me. "It's loaded. Shoot."
A wave of sweat washed my face as Roger retrieved a knife from the man he had bitten. It was a pack of knives, and the smile on the little boy's face made me uneasy.
Knives flew through the air, mixed with bullets at the sound of gunshots, and men fell to the ground like buttered meat.
My heart sank as I closed my eyes, unable to touch the gun Roger threw at me and only waiting for it to be over. Hank and Roger exchanged a high fives when I opened my eyes after the noise ceased.
“We make a great team," Hank said, and Roger jumped with excitement. "Yes, Uncle Hank, please get someone to clean up the mess."
Roger dashed towards the van as Hank made a call. “Your services are need…” His voice faded in my ears, as I ran after Roger but Hank was behind me.
We joined Roger and Gio at the van, but everyone inside was already dead. When I turned around, the bodies were gone.
It all felt like a scene from a movie, but then I noticed the little boy, Wade, in the corner of the van, trembling as if he had been drenched in ice.
This would have frightened me if I didn't have some understanding of the mafia. Their world was undeniably dark.
"Please don't harm me, but I don't know where Aunt Bertha and Uncle Radley are."
