Marie’s POV
I have noticed many women around Don, but none have made me as uncomfortable as this one, not even his wife.
I have been working with Don Giovanni Dawson for five years. When our eyes met, it was love at first sight, but unfortunately, my feelings were not reciprocated due to the numerous women around him.
Initially, Don was cold and unwelcoming towards me, but I worked hard to earn my current position.
He trusts me with confidential matters but never involves me in his personal relationships.
His best friend, Charlie, is just as reserved as him.
One day, Don brought his newborn son to the office for an urgent meeting, and I saw his name on the birth certificate.
He rushed through the meeting, and Charlie mentioned that Don had to get there before his wife woke up.
This incident left me unsettled, and Don disappeared from the office for a week without answering any calls.
Despite the challenges posed by the women around him, I slowly developed a deep affection for his son, mirroring my love for Don.
I couldn't comprehend how he managed to stay focused amidst the distractions.
While there were rumors about his one-night stands, I never witnessed any inappropriate behavior in the office. Don was known for never being with the same woman twice.
His love life was complicated as the mother of his child, whom I assumed to be his wife, did not live with him, and none of his one-night stands were known.
However, this woman was the only woman who seemed to have spent the night at his house. What made her so special?
Despite Don’s ruthlessness, which I witnessed when strange men carried dead bodies out of his office at night while I worked overtime, I was still in love with him.
I hinted at my feelings, but he remained aloof. If I were to tell him directly, I might risk losing my job.
Sometimes, he would take leave to spend time with the mother of his son, which was painful for me.
Whenever she called, he would be at her beck and call, occasionally bringing her to the office.
I didn't want to talk about that woman, but this new one made me feel even worse.
She was the only woman I saw Don carry a shopping bag for, something he never did for the mother of his son because he didn't want his clothes stained.
Despite witnessing his dark side at night, his white suit always remained spotless. He was impeccably neat, even in his rough life.
I overheard the bodyguards gossiping that the boss was a clean fighter, able to take down adversaries without spilling his drink or staining his suit.
Seeing him with this woman yesterday was unsettling, and when he brought her to the office this morning, I couldn't help but ask,
"Sir, what is she doing here?" His stern gaze immediately made me realize my mistake in daring to ask him questions.
"Is that your answer to my question?" His voice, once warm, now cold, was a shift we had experienced over our years of working together.
Don never smiled, but he had never been this cold towards me before.
I forced a smile, but it felt strained, and I regretted it instantly. Perhaps I shouldn't have tried.
The woman looked even more stunning than she did yesterday, cladding a designer outfit from one of Don’s stores.
A feeling inside me suggested that he must have bought all those things for her, but why not for me? Items in his store were for high earners.
"It's the meeting I rescheduled from yesterday. Since you didn't give me a time, I assumed this morning would work," I explained, as proficient as ever in my job.
"You should have confirmed it with me. I have a lot on my plate," his voice stern, his gaze icy.
I disliked being scolded in front of the woman but dared not speak up or push back. "I apologize, but they've been waiting for over an hour, and they are the top executives of their companies."
He was contemplating, but I was surprised when he asked about the divorce lawyer. I felt elated when he requested me to arrange for him, hoping he was going to divorce the mother of his son.
"Where is Richie?" he inquired, referring to the divorce lawyer.
"I received him in my office for this meeting," I replied. Don's office could only be unlocked by him, making it a restricted area for anyone, including myself, unless he was present.
I watched as he took the woman's hand, and they headed towards my office. Tears welled up in my eyes.
"Is that Molly Campbell?" a female manager asked me, leaving me confused.
"Molly Campbell? The disgraced star, beauty without brains?" I responded, failing to connect the dots.
The manager confirmed, "Yes, it's her. But what is she doing with the boss?" I was clueless, but a glimmer of hope sparked within me.
I suspected this home wrecker was here to steal my boss, just as she had destroyed her producer's marriage.
"Are you certain about this?" I inquired, already formulating plans on how to sabotage her.
“I can't afford to make a mistake. I used to be a devoted fan of hers until the scandal broke out, but rumors are circulating that she was spotted at one of the boss's clubs. Here."
She showed me a dark image on her phone, likely taken in the dim lighting of the club, but it was unmistakably her.
This incident occurred just the night before last. The boss had abruptly left a crucial meeting because of her, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth at the mere thought of it.
"I also heard from a club attendant that one of Nora's employees overheard Molly discussing her troubled marriage with Nora.
Her sister stole her husband," the manager whispered, covering her mouth to ensure privacy.
All the pieces were falling into place, and I saw an opportunity to leverage this information to my advantage.
Nora needed to be on my side, or she would face my wrath. Instead of tailing them, I decided to send a text message to Nora.
'I'm planning to visit the club tonight. Can we meet?'
