                    Giovanni’s POV
I trusted Charlie because he came highly recommended by a trusted business partner.
However, how he stared at Molly and attempted to shake her hand during the meeting made me uncomfortable. His unwarranted compliments towards her only added to my unease.
I was distraught with him and decided to terminate our contract and find someone else. But then, he became serious, prompting me to test him further, only to be met with a greater disappointment.
The despicable man had his hands on Molly’s thighs, and at that moment, I forgot about Molly and wanted to make him disappear.
However, Molly’s voice brought me back to reality, reminding me of her presence.
Molly’s gentle nature frustrated me. Charlie had attempted to molest her, and the situation could have escalated if I hadn’t intervened in time. Yet, she prevented me from taking drastic action against him.
I believed Molly needed time to toughen up, so I pretended to heed her words and let Charlie go.
I couldn’t bring myself to forgive someone like Charlie, and I wasn’t about to do so just because of Molly.
The best I could do was pretend to comply with her wishes and do as I pleased when she wasn't unaware, so I texted a special assassin.
"I want Charles Martin declared missing." How dare he molest a woman under my protection?
Only after receiving confirmation that Charlie had been apprehended at the underground car park did I feel satisfied enough to continue the conversation with Molly.
This assassin never failed me; he was my best friend. As long as he had Charlie with him, the bastard would never be able to escape.
Even if my bodyguards failed me, Hank, my best friend, would not. Molly was still being difficult.
How hard was it to agree to a divorce? She did not trust me to help her, and I was determined not to help her until she agreed to the divorce.
Nevertheless, as we were discussing matters, I noticed a shadow under the door and knew someone was eavesdropping. Upon reaching the door, I was disappointed to see Marie listening in.
"What is the meaning of this?" I questioned her, trying my best to control my anger for Molly's sake. Without a doubt, she would not be happy to know what I had become.
"Sir, I was just about to knock," Marie said, but I knew she was lying. It was as clear as day.
"You dare to lie to me? I will have your office changed," I said directly, holding back from doing something ugly in front of Molly while planning a worse form of punishment for Marie.
My style for dealing with my staff was different from that of anyone else. With those mafia mob leaders and so on, I could deal with them however I wanted, but as for my staff, they were my responsibility, and I would be held accountable for their lives.
This was one of the advantages of working for someone like me. That was the reason why I just could not declare Marie missing unless she was involved in some kind of heinous crime.
"Sir, I didn't do anything," she pleaded with an innocent look in her eyes. It angered me to the extreme, and I decided to teach her a lesson.
"Alright, you didn't do anything? Call Jace for me." She turned around and went to call Jace from where the bodyguards rested.
I never liked them loitering about in the office areas, and as soon as Jace arrived, I instructed him.
“I want footage of Marie’s office from the last fifteen minutes until now," I said. I watched as the color drained from her face, realizing it was too late for her to make any corrections or confess.
"Yes, sir, I will get it ready in a jiffy," he replied confidently.
I knew Marie wouldn't be able to tamper with the footage, so I closed the door and returned to Molly.
"Have you made a decision yet?" I inquired. She pushed the printed documents towards me. "I already signed."
I had expected to have to persuade her further, but she surprised me with her quick decision.
"Great, send me a copy."
"I already did," she responded, leaving me stunned once again.
"Please don’t let me down, Gianni. I can’t allow that lying bastard to take everything that is rightfully mine."
It warmed my heart that she trusted me completely, giving me the freedom to help her as I wished.
"You won’t regret this, I promise," I encouraged her.
She didn’t respond but smiled before her phone began to ring. "It’s him." She showed the caller ID to me, so I nodded.
"Answer it." I had forgotten that I had a lot of pending approvals, but I wouldn’t be alive today if it weren’t for Molly.
That made her more deserving of my time than anything or anyone else. She answered the phone, and without my instruction, she pressed the speaker button.
"Babe, you finally made up your mind," I heard Wesley say. I was irritated for no reason, but I loved the way Molly handled him.
"Don’t call me that, you disgusting pig. Meet me at the court tomorrow and let’s finalize everything."
"Why don’t we meet tonight at the club? I have something that might interest you," he said.
Molly was about to respond when he added, "Don’t forget you are still my wife because the marriage is not yet dissolved. You just can’t say no."
