Kiara’s POV
“I can’t believe you allowed them into your house without us being there,” I said to Wesley as he drove away from the court, heading to the hospital.
My parents had special jewelry that I never saw after their death, and something inside me tells me that Molly had them. If we could get there before her, I was sure to take them from her.
“I wanted to call my parents to deal with Molly for the sudden pride that entered her, but that demon is with her so what can I do?” Wesley said. I sensed the fear in his voice.
Giovanni was indeed a terror to the underworld, but I never thought I would meet him face to face.
He was good-looking too, the most handsome and deadly man I had ever seen. I was glad Wesley paid some spies enough to keep an eye on Molly for now.
That way, I might just find out more about Giovanni. Before, I thought Wesley was the best thing that happened to Molly, but seeing Giovanni all over her, I knew he had to be mine.
I then thought about Wade, silently cursing myself for letting Molly see him. Most men these days are hesitant to be with a woman who has a child from another man, but I was determined to find a way around it.
Wesley's wrist was swollen when we arrived at the emergency room. My ankle wasn't as serious, so my treatment was quick.
The doctor recommended putting a cast on Wesley's wrist for his broken bones, but it had to wait until the swelling went down.
He was given a splint and painkillers and told to wait a few days for the swelling to decrease before getting a cast.
Despite his pain, I could tell Wesley was trying to tough it out for my sake. As we neared the car, his phone rang, and he quickly answered it, his expression turning to one of anger.
"What's happening?" I asked, noticing his sudden acceleration and fast driving, even with only one arm on the wheel.
“Molly has the audacity to harm my family. Call 911 and file a report," he said urgently before adding, "Radley mentioned that dad is deceased and mom is also facing harassment."
Wesley looked pale, and I felt sympathy for him. I never liked his parents, but I never voiced that to him.
I was aware of how Molly had been mistreated in the past, which is why I made sure to move into the mansion.
I had never intended to let Wesley bring his parents over. I called 911 and filed the complaint, but I couldn't shake the thought how how Molly was able to harm Wesley’s parents.
They were the ones who constantly abused her.
"Molly isn't capable of harming your family. Is it Giovanni?" If it was him, I didn't want to risk being seen with Wesley anymore.
Wesley’s voice quivered as he drove with one hand again. Anger was evident on his face as he responded.
"I think he hired a bodyguard for her." His reply triggered a flurry of thoughts in my mind.
If Giovanni had arranged for Molly to have a bodyguard, it could be a formidable one, and I didn't want to be entangled in that situation.
“Babe, can you drop me off at the mansion first?" I asked, trying to find a way to avoid trouble, but Wesley seemed determined to keep driving without any stops unless there was traffic.
"Why the mansion?" He asked, sounding annoyed, and I felt a bit nervous as he continued to speed. Thinking quickly, I came up with a plausible excuse.
"You know Wade will be getting out of school soon," I said, hoping he would change course, but he didn't, and his words stung.
"The nanny can pick him up, and you don't seem to care about my family."
With no other options to convince him, I noticed a car following us as we neared our destination.
"Who are they? It looks like they're following us," I asked, feeling a sense of relief.
"They're bodyguards," Wesley replied.
As we approached, we heard sirens approaching from behind. An ambulance passed us, and Wesley almost followed them, realizing they had come from his house.
"Why aren't the police here?" Wesley asked the security personnel as we exited the car.
"They're on their way," the security guard replied. “The police left when the ambulance arrived. There is no problem, Mr. Thompson," said the security guard.
Wesley appeared upset at the irresponsible words of the security guard, slapping him hard on the cheek.
It was well deserved because how was he paid when he could not protect anyone and seemed to not even know about what was going on?
As soon as the bodyguards exited the car, we hurried inside, not giving the security guard a chance to recover.
"I said, kiss her feet," a familiar voice said, causing my heart to sink.
How foolish of Radley to mistake Giovanni for a bodyguard. I should have insisted and not come here...
