                    Molly’s POV
Gianni revealed a side of himself that I had never seen before, not even after witnessing what he did to the lawyer.
It helped me understand why he was so fearless, sparking a desire in me to be tough as well, though I was unsure how to achieve it.
He wasn't like this when we dated in the past, so it must have taken him years to reach this level.
After Gianni dropped me gently in the passenger seat of his car and discarded the shirt Kiara had touched, I felt compelled to thank him.
However, the pain he had caused me made me in the past made me attribute his actions to an attempt to make amends.
Once we retrieved everything from Wesley, Gianni and I could go our separate ways.
“Are you going to the office like that?” I asked him, and he nodded. “I have some clothes in the office.”
I was relieved, but then I noticed the blazer he had used to wipe my legs and wasn't sure what to make of it.
“I can wash that for you,” I offered, as I had done a lot of handwashing for Wesley and his family. They never allowed me to touch the machine, stating a preference for hand-washing their clothes due to their fragility.
It dawned on me that this was all a form of punishment. How could I have been so naive for so long?
"No, I'll handle it," Gianni refused, which worried me. The shirt was stained with wine because he used it to wipe my feet, a gesture I interpreted as a way to honor me, for which I was grateful.
"You really saved me back there. Let me at least get it cleaned for you," I said earnestly, but he remained firm in his refusal.
"I told you not to worry about it. So, what are your plans now that you're divorced?"
His mention of divorce stirred something within me, reminding me of how he had insisted on it and refused to help me without it.
"I don't have much to start with. I just want to learn more about management so I can take care of the company when I regain control," I replied seriously.
I had no knowledge about managing a business practically and was eager to learn.
"Taking back your company will require some time," Gianni mentioned as he pressed on the accelerator.
My heart sank a little, but given all he had done for me, I couldn't help but trust him.
"How long do you think it will take?" I inquired, and his response seemed to take some thought.
"I can't give you an exact timeline, but based on the strategy, I believe it will take at least a few months."
I had initially hoped to regain control within a week, but it seemed the process would be more challenging than I had anticipated.
Despite my reluctance to express gratitude, I couldn't help but thank Gianni for his actions.
"Thank you for what you did back there. It's not really my style, but it was satisfying."
"I don't need your thanks. I promised to assist you. You will accompany me to the office, where I will train you in business management. This way, you won't require my help once you reclaim your company."
I was touched by the offer, but also a bit apprehensive remembering how he had let Marie go. Gianni seemed less patient than before.
"You're willing to do that?" he asked.
After a brief pause, he continued, "Yes, but only a small part of the company. There are aspects of my business that may not suit you, but I'll have someone else train you when I'm not around."
Learning about his frequent travels made me feel a sense of loss. I had just started to feel at ease around him.
"Do you travel often?" I inquired.
"Yes, but for Roger's sake, I've cut back on many things and delegated tasks to others," he explained.
His words resonated with me, but then he abruptly pulled over to the side of the road.
“What's going on?" I asked, panicked.
He didn't speak but turned to open the door. I was scared and was about to open the door on my side when his hand pressed against my thigh. "Stay here and don't move."
I wanted to protest, but then I saw another car pull over not far from ours. Gianni stepped out and began to walk towards the car. I saw the driver of the other car step out and start running.
As Gianni chased after him, a strange man entered the car I sat in. "Who are you?" I asked.
He didn't answer me but spoke on the phone, saying, "I got her."
Instantly, I started sweating and yelled, "Gianni." I didn't know if that was the best thing to do because the man looked furious as he covered my mouth with his hand, making it hard to breathe.
"It's better if you don't move an inch," he said.
But then, a strong arm pressed against his throat, and Gianni's expression turned deadly.
In his other hand, I saw the man he was chasing before, his face covered in blood. Suddenly, my heart dropped into my stomach.
