                    Giovanni’s POV
As I was about to take off on my private jet, my phone rang. Expecting it to be Hank with a possible emergency involving Roger, I answered the call.
“Gio, I heard Don Black is having dinner at Haze restaurant tonight.”
The news piqued my interest, even though I didn’t know the man’s identity I was searching for. I had a hunch that certain characteristics might give him away, so I decided to take the bait.
Also, the fact that he had eyes on Molly made her the perfect candidate to go with.
“Great. I hope he doesn’t disguise himself.”
“I hope so too,” Hank replied before I ended the call. Upon reaching the office, I was eager to check on Molly. I hadn’t informed her before leaving because I didn’t want to ruin her sleep but she hadn’t called during my absence.
I secretly hoped she would have reached out to me or inquired about the missing maids, but that didn’t happen. I assumed Jace must have provided her with satisfactory answers, but I expected her to be waiting for me in my office for instructions, as she wouldn’t start working without guidance.
“Where is Molly?” I asked Agatha, who looked confused. “She’s in her office.”
Instead of asking Agatha to call Molly for me, I decided to fetch her myself.
Upon reaching her office, I found it empty with no signs of her presence. There was no coffee, handbag, or any indication that a woman had been there.
Confused, I returned to my office and asked Agatha about Molly's whereabouts.
"She's not there," I informed Agatha, who seemed puzzled.
"Sir, she checked in and is in her office," she insisted. I started to doubt if I had checked the wrong office.
"Unless it's the wrong one," I mused.
"It's the new hire's office on the second floor," Agatha revealed, which infuriated me. How could she assume that Molly would start at the company as a new recruit?
Agatha was actually transferred from another department to be my secretary, so there were certain details I couldn't disclose. However, I expected her to be resourceful. While every new hire typically went through HR, I hadn't involved HR in Molly's case, assuming Agatha would piece things together.
"How could you be so incompetent?" I lashed out in anger. "If this happens again, you're fired. Prepare the executive office next to yours and report to both of us."
Molly needed training on how to utilize a secretary effectively to alleviate her workload and stress. This would enable her to handle Roger better until they could establish a rapport.
I immediately went to the second floor to retrieve Molly. "This isn't your office. Come with me."
As she reached the door, she stood still, wearing a confused expression on her face. "You look upset. What happened?" I asked, but she just shook her head.
"It's nothing. Your office is being prepared, so you'll be in my office today." She was as stunning as the first time I saw her at that café.
Despite the difficult moments, her beauty remained undiminished, and I knew many girls envied her. Sensing her displeasure, I inquired, "You don't want to work from my office?"
Something seemed to be bothering her, and I hoped she would confide in me, but her response only added to my confusion.
"You might be busy, and I don't want to be a distraction."
"What do you mean by that?" I pressed, moving closer, but fear flickered in her eyes, prompting me to step back. I noticed relief in her eyes before she spoke.
"Nothing. When is Roger coming back?" she asked, showing her concern for Roger despite his troubles.
"I adjusted your working hours. You will leave early to pick him up from school. Hank already dropped him off."
I noticed her relief as she asked, "Can I take him to the pack?" Her question caught me off guard because Roger had not been raised like a typical child. He might complicate things for her even more.
"No, he doesn't go to those places, but don't worry. Hank will pick him up tonight. You have to accompany me to dinner."
The look in her eyes was peculiar, as if I had asked for something extraordinary. "You don't want to come with me?"
"No," she shook her head. I felt disheartened but I needed to understand. "Why?"
"How will you introduce me? Someone might recognize me, and you have a wife. Gianni, I appreciate your help, but once I regain everything, I will reward you."
I was momentarily frozen. If there had been another option, I wouldn't have chosen her, but I couldn't force her.
"Alright, I won't pressure you." I made my way to the door, nearly colliding with Agatha, who was there for Molly.
“Miss, your office is ready."
I was surprised at how quickly she had prepared it, but then I remembered that the office was already furnished and just needed a bit of cleaning since it hadn't been in use for a while.
"You can go, Agatha. I will take her there," I discharged her but Molly seemed uneasy at my request. "No, I will just go with her," she said hurriedly, almost as if she were trying to escape a volcano. What had I done wrong?
I found myself following Molly and the receptionist to Molly's office. Since I couldn't miss the dinner, I needed someone else to accompany me, and my secretary seemed like the perfect choice.
However, as soon as I made the arrangement, I noticed a change in Molly's expression but as if that was not enough a demon was sent to torment me.
