                    Molly’s Pov
Gianni’s heated gaze was focused me, I felt slightly embarrassed but the pain was burning.
“What happened? Who hit you?”
He looked like he was ready to fry someone and before I said a word, Nicole answered. “Her stupid secretary slapped her twice, Gio, she should be fired.”
“No, I didn’t do it on purpose,” Agatha pleaded when Gianni’s angry gaze landed on her.
“You didn’t do it on purpose? Why don’t you have a taste of your own medicine?”
“Gianni, she didn’t slap me,” I said in Agatha’s defense but Gianni stared at me with a look of disappointment.
“How long would you allow people to trample over you? She hit you and has to pay for it. Declare her missing,” Gianni raged, his bodyguards moved towards Agatha but I was swift, protecting her with my form.
“I said she didn’t hit me. Nicole did it.”
“Gio, can you believe that?” Nicole had on an innocent look that scared me. “I am the one who stood up for her and yet, she wants to complicate me. I have witnesses,” she kept looking at the managers who kept giving her assuring nods.
“It’s true. Agatha slapped her.”
Gianni’s expression as not looking good as he asked me. “Why do you want to protect your abuser?”
Tears stung the corner of my eyes as I stared into his eyes. “If you don’t believe me, then don’t fake caring about me. I don’t need it.”
I saw his jaw clench as he stared at Agatha. “Tell me what happened.”
“Sir, I came here to eat with Madam but Nicole kept insulting her. I told her that if she had a problem with Madam, then she should come to you but she slapped me.”
“That’s a lie,” Nicole interrupted, I was just realizing how she played her cards so well. We didn’t have any proof.
“She said that I stole her spot in attending the dinner party with you so I slapped her. Then she took her anger on Molly.” Her gaze landed on me.
“Molly, please tell him the truth. Why are you trying to protect the bitch who hit you?”
Things were complicated and the look in Gianni’s eyes hurt me even more as Nicole spoke again but I wondered if she wanted to put herself into trouble.
“Gio, there is a camera there. Why don’t you check and see what exactly happened?”
“Great. The camera would is a great idea,” I agreed, just before I caught a smirk I the corner of Nicole’s eyes but it didn’t occur to me that there was something called angle.
Zak had already downloaded the image on the camera and given it to Gianni. The look in his eyes was not encouraging.
“Molly, what is wrong with you? And why do you keep protecting her?”
He showed the video to me and my heart sunk. The angle of the caption did not capture Nicole’s hand holding that of Agatha.
Seemed to me that Nicole knew the cameras well and mastered the angle to use.
“Gianni, you have to believe me. There should be another camera. Nicole used Agatha’s hand. She’s innocent and I can’t watch you punish an innocent person.”
A frustrated look crossed Gianni’s eyes as he ran his fingers through his hair. “Why is money scattered all over the floor?”
Hope resonated through my heart and I spoke up. “That is the money Nicole gave me to disappear from your life.”
I saw her paled expression and thought I had won but the girl was a serpent. “Gio, that isn’t true and I don’t know why Molly hates me when all I try to do is be nice to her.”
She was already shedding crocodile tears and though Gianni was unmoved, I had a feeling that he believed her. It was too real to be unbelievable.
“I was taking something from my bag when Claire accidentally pushed me, spilling the money in the process.”
“Zak, I need footage to that,” Gianni said, my heart warmed as I felt that justice would be served but strangely, it wasn’t.
I hadn’t seen the time Claire appeared behind Nicole but it sure looked like she had been pushed.
“Molly, why do you lie to me?” Gianni asked and nothing hurt as much as his disappointed gaze.
The smirk in the corner of Nicole’s lips made it clear that she couldn’t be messed with.
She was smart at performing evil so how could I contend with that? I was lost for words at this moment until Gianni’s harsh words resonated.
“Agatha, you are fired.”
A smile bloomed on the face of Nicole and the managers and tears stung the corner of my eyes, I walked to Nicole and with every anger surging through me, I slapped her hard.
“When Gianni called, you told me to tell him everything was fine, so you wouldn’t frame Agatha for your mischief but you still do.”
I didn’t know if I was hallucinating but I could swear that I saw Gianni smile, though it was so quick, as if it had never been there.
“Molly, how could you? After standing up for you, you turn against me?” The faked innocence in her voice caused my anger to rise due to the fact that an innocent person was going to pay for her crimes.
“You can pretend as you want but the truth is one.” I took a step back but couldn’t let her win so easily.
“Congratulations, you won. Agatha is fired because me so I would leave too.”
I saw Gianni’s expression change as he glared at me. “You are not leaving.”
I laughed through tears. “You have just one camera at the cafeteria and it captures things from one angle. I came here to eat but Nicole denied me that and framed Agatha for her crimes. Gianni, I don’t feel safe here.”
Confusion clouded his mind and I knew my words had great effect on him. It was not just Nicole but the other managers were also shocked by how I had Gianni cornered.
When he spoke again, he spoke exactly like the Gianni I knew before.
