                    Giovanni’s POV
It was hard to gather the evidence to support Molly’s claim but I knew in my heart that she would never lie to me. Molly didn’t have it in her, but I also knew she could lie to protect those she loved.
That was a good moral, but I hated for anyone to take advantage of her. As much as I doubted Agatha would have the guts to do the things Nicole mentioned, all the proof pointed at her.
Nicole was not an angel either, having been trained by my mother. She was very smart and manipulative but seemed to have evidence backing her claims.
I wasn’t there and could only rely on the evidence in front of me but that was when I realized my mistake.
There was just one camera at the cafeteria because it was one of the most peaceful places in the company.
With no proof or cameras backing Molly’s words, I began to lose hope in her, not until she decided to quit. How could I let that happen?
Molly would not want to quit if she was indeed in the wrong and the fact that she was doing it because of Agatha proved the later was innocent.
I promised to protect her, and her words made me understand that I wasn’t doing so. There had to be a way for me to dig out proof. That was when my attention focused on the workers at the cafeteria.
“Zak, interrogate the workers, and Jace, make sure there are multiple cameras at the cafeteria from now onwards,” I instructed my two bodyguards present before turning to Molly and instructing.
“To my office, and investigations will be carried out before I settle on what to do with your secretary.”
Molly was still not satisfied, looking in the direction Zak went. “Everyone is afraid of Nicole. You should interrogate your staff yourself,” she requested.
There was a lot for me to take care of, but I couldn't refuse her request if that would make her stay. "Fine," I replied as Zak spoke when I reached them.
"They claimed they weren't paying attention and it seemed like they were just chatting, as the staff often do."
I glanced at the workers, finding nothing suspicious, so I turned to Molly. "Would you like to question them yourself?"
Molly accepted the challenge, but it yielded no useful information. It was as Zak had described – they weren't paying attention.
Pain was evident in Molly's eyes, indicating she was being truthful. How had Nicole managed to conceal everything? There was only one thing I could do for Molly at the moment and that was securing the job of her secretary.
"Agatha is your secretary, so if you want her to stay, she can," I assured her, watching the pain fade from her eyes.
"Are you sure?" Molly's voice was filled with excitement, a side of her I hadn't seen in a long time. It reminded me of the first time I took her to the movies.
Her excitement was equivalent to that of a little child. "Of course," I confirmed, witnessing as Molly embraced Agatha, and they walked hand in hand towards the entrance.
Remembering that Molly had mentioned missing lunch, I sent a text to have her lunch delivered to her.
The expressions on my managers' faces spoke volumes, but I couldn't take action without concrete evidence but there was a way to get something out of Nicole, even if it wasn’t everything.
"Nicole, come to my office," I instructed, leading the way as she followed.
Closing the door behind us, I asked sternly, "What exactly happened there?" As expected, she wasn’t easy to crack.
"Gio, don't you trust me?" Her eyes welled up with tears, and I couldn't discern if they were genuine.
Despite the uncertainty, I was convinced that something had occurred. "Molly would never deceive me, you know why?" I questioned, to which she shook her head. “Good," I remarked. "You would never know, so out with it."
I knew this was going to be hard. Nicole was trained as a spy by my mother, but for something like this to not happen again, I had to break her defenses.
"Gio, I told you everything, and the cameras proved it."
"I know your capabilities, Nicole, sit," I said and pulled a drawer under my desk. Picking up a cigar, I lit it and puffed as much as I could contain.
I hadn't smoked in a while because of Molly, but at this point, I needed it so much.
The cloud of smoke covered the room, but Nicole was smiling all through, being a smoker herself but I didn’t offer her any. "Gio, I can make you feel good. Mom got in touch with your doctor."
The mention of what my mother had done caused the cigar to fall from my hand, and I quickly stepped on it to quench it. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
The smile on her face was irritating. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. You are a man with a high sexual demand which not every woman can handle. Mom trained me to take care of you in every way.”
She rose to her feet and pinned her butts on the table, before she began to unbutton her shirt, her voice turning seductive with each word she spoke.
“I understand your needs, and you won't have a need for those 'whores'."
Her finger’s trailed my necktie but at the moment, the only person at the receiving end of my anger was my doctor.
My condition was not as Nicole thought but still, I was shocked to discover that my doctor had betrayed me. I immediately shoved Nicole’s hand away and called her on the phone, "What did you tell my mother?"
Her response was only a confirmation that things were worse than I thought about my mother.
