Wesley’s POV
Facing Giovanni Dawson alone would be foolish, considering his skills as a competitor. After numerous defeats at his hands while he protected Molly, I realized I needed a strong alliance.
I sought partnerships with multiple Dons to ensure my security, knowing they would assist as long as it benefited them. When one of my bodyguards arranged a meeting with Don Black’s representative, Santiago, I wasted no time in meeting with him.
With my father still in a coma and Kiara causing trouble by seeking ways to see Giovanni again, I understood her true intentions. Despite having a child together, she remained unfaithful, always looking for another man.
Regretting choosing her over Molly, I justified my decision by Kiara’s ability to bear a child, unlike Molly.
Upon arriving at the club, Santiago awaited me in a VIP booth, and I got straight to the point with him.
“Don Gio attacked my family, and I want to retaliate. I need Don Black's assistance, along with the other Dons," I stated firmly as Santiago slid a glass of vodka in front of me.
"You need our help, but it comes at a price," Santiago replied.
Feeling the tension from him and his bodyguards, I gathered my composure and laid out my offer. "I can part with some of my shares," I proposed, but he dismissed it with a disdainful look.
"Don Black doesn't need your money unless it's at least a hundred million," Santiago declared.
The amount was more than I was willing to give up. "I have another offer," I countered.
Throughout our conversation, I noticed Santiago chatting on his phone to someone who seemed to be his superior. "Don Black wants to know what the offer is," Santiago relayed.
"My ex-wife, Molly," I revealed.
Their reactions shifted, and Santiago's smile seemed forced. His sudden interest in Molly made me uneasy.
"What about her? Are you referring to Molly the singer? She vanished without a trace, and you call her your ex-wife?" Santiago probed.
Anxiety crept in, and I regretted divulging too much. Seeking help from the mafia seemed like a mistake.
"I'm sorry, I've changed my mind," I admitted, considering alternative ways to handle the situation, possibly with the support of other CEO friends. However, Santiago's bodyguards obstructed my exit.
"Can you compensate for the time wasted?" Santiago inquired as one of the bodyguards pulled me back into my seat. What do you want?" I asked earnestly. Santiago smiled, but his eyes remained cold.
"You seem well-informed about Molly. The last we knew, she was dating Don Giovanni Dawson," he disclosed, causing my face to pale.
So, Molly had been cheating on me all this time? "Molly and I have been married for two years since the scandal. When did she start seeing Don Gio?" I inquired.
"It seems you don't know your ex-wife well. She dated Don Gio back in college," Santiago revealed.
It all made sense now. Don Gio was Molly's ex, and I unwittingly facilitated their reunion. How foolish of me. I needed to win her back, and I knew I would need Don Black's help.
"How did you come by this information?" I probed, seeking reassurance.
"It's our job to know. So, which cards are you willing to play?" Santiago inquired. I pondered carefully.
"Molly is a gem. If I could have her back, I could nurture her musical talent and turn it into a lucrative venture," I suggested.
I had that in mind but my attention shifted to Kiara and I watched Molly’s music career die. Right now, it seemed like the best course of action.
Once Molly became a star again, I would have her all to myself.
“Don Black agreed to partner with you on the condition that Molly remains under his protection," Santiago replied, his expression serious as he typed on his phone.
A sense of dread washed over me at his words, but my focus remained on my burning desire to seek revenge on Don Gio for the harm he had caused my family.
"As long as Don Gio is taken down, I'm in," I declared firmly.
Santiago smiled and extended his hand, sealing our agreement. Despite his middle-aged appearance, he exuded authority. "You have a deal," he confirmed, slipping a note into my hand.
"There's a meeting scheduled at this location, and I'm certain Don Gio will be there with Molly. Come and witness it for yourself."
Excitement surged through me at the prospect of seeing Molly again. I arrived at the restaurant two hours early and joined Santiago in the manager's office to monitor the situation through surveillance cameras.
However, when the doors finally opened, it wasn't Molly standing beside Don Gio but another woman.
"Damn it. What is she doing here?" Santiago cursed, visibly upset as he instructed one of his bodyguards, "Deal with her."
It seemed to me that he knew the sexy woman beside Don Gio. I watched as the bodyguard relayed orders to his companions, one of them discreetly passing a note to a waiter while the others hurled steel balls in the woman's direction.
She managed to catch the first ball, impressing me momentarily, but before she could recover, two more projectiles were launched at her. It was clear that she had made a grave mistake by showing up.
